Second time this week I've mentioned this game (and by god I won't mention it again), but it was that damn Cordell Stewart game that made me flip the script. I was living at the dorm at the time. I was just struck with sudden defeat, decided I didn't want to hear anyone talk about it, give me grief about it, so I had my buddy bring me food from the cafeteria (had to be the "sick meal", which was basically soup). Later I thought "This is stupid, if you let sports affect you so much that you can't go somewhere to eat." I still take games kind of seriously, but I don't let it seap into other parts of life.

Me, I'd start my thought process with the trio of Bos, Chi, LA. Then I'd immediately pitch that and say Detroit takes it. :-p

Dunno. I can't answer that question until Saturday afternoon. If the Blackhawks again make it seem like the entire second half of the game Detroit never leaves its own end, and outshoots them 2-1, then for sure it's the Blackhawks. We're not even sure if Crawford's .950 save percentage is because he's legit...he hasn't gotten enough action to show if he's brilliant or not.

I remember the play, but don't remember against which team. Jerry had problems his first year (amazingly, his hands were quite questionable for him), so much so that San Fran was wondering if they blew a pick on a bust. Came back the next year and was fantastic.

From what one writer said, he's a good kid, humble, family's important to him (brother plays at Wichita State), not concerned about the possible riches...seems more Kansas to me than Kentucky. I would say 'morning tweak' there to our Kentucky friends, but seriously, they can't read.

I was going to say, I know there were two heart-wrenchers against Denver. I can't help but feel there was a fumble in each.

Maple Jordan. We're pretty psyched about it. True surprise, everyone figured he was going to go to Kentucky. Replacing all 5 starters, this is a big help.

Agreed. He was the one out of all of ya that I respected. RIP

Due to moves/associations, my team interests make me seem like a frontrunner. Born in KC (and all roads lead back to KC), moved to Michigan for 7 or my formative years, step-grandparents that lived in Foxboro that we'd visit often, graduated from KU. So it's Michigan football, KU basketball, Red Wings, Patriots. I've held it together so far with these associations.

A favorite Simpsons of mine is the Scorpio episode. Not only is it a fine parody of Bond films, but at the end it's a fantastic dig at the Broncos.

AWWWWWW man...I was going to go with buttfumble. Oh well, guess we all can enjoy the Dirty Sanchez.

Yes, I had to do a double-take (as I wasn't drinking at the time, so I couldn't take a spit-take). Of all the places to find a Lava Arrington reference.

Yup. Don't think Staal is one to shy away from pain, but he was REALLY freaking out about that hit. He's going to be done for quite a while. Just when the Hurricanes fans thought the season couldn't get any worse. And it got worse for Canada, as they lost in the shootout.

If only Stastny could play the Russians in the NHL he'd be an All-Star! Smith has been great out there. Eric Staal may now have a torn up knee. And I'm truly surprised Satan is playing.

I also heard he said Hitler wasn't that bad, he had some good fashion sense.

We're only talking about coaches still alive in the second round ,and half of a famous 80s pop duo.

Even if they hadn't been dangerous and scoring (they have been), they've been keeping the other team back on their heels, always pushing forward...quickly. Even though the line might be small of stature, they have been getting it deep, keeping it in the zone. Mindful of the speed Draper-Maltby gave to the checking lines.

Funny thing is saying this...Whatever you do don't break up that third line!!!

Good point. I don't think it's the worry of putting all the offense on one line when pairing Z and Dats, it's more that each of them is one of the top defensive forwards in the NHL. Spreading that defense out is probably a good ideas against Chicago. And perhaps Hank being out there with Filpula will talk him out of blind, backhand passes to no one.
