What the carp!? You can play defense in these playoffs?

As it was going along, I was hoping, after the beauty of what these defenses and goalies did, that it would end with an artful goal; but expected that someone like Drew Miller would muck one in. That, friends, was magical.

They have to just skip the, what, last 1:30? And then just assume they moved on. I do that with the last few seconds of the Michigan-Colorado game.

Nothing looks to have changed since the Isles series last year. Pens haven't tightened anything up. Looks like this one will be shootout after shootout like last year. Didn't the Isles also get themselves in trouble by putting the Pens on the PP? If I remember correctly, several games, like the Jackets the other night, were in control until they marched to the box.

It'll be fun. Original Six matchups always are, just look at Bruins-Leafs and Chi-Det last year.

Yes, I also believe the Pens have no chance in this Bruins-Wings series. I am going out on a limb and saying either the Wings or Bruins win it. ;-)

Or perhaps not turning it over at the Wings' blueline to the hottest stick while you're D is changing lines. I'm sure they worked on that.

Infrequently our Fox Sports shows Blues games, but the guide never recognizes that a game is on. And you never know when Fox trumps NBC.

Wtf? I can't watch Blues-Blackhawks on NBCSN because it's local coverage. Problem is I live in KC, so Fox MW is actually showing, you know, KC sports. Nice. ...oh wait, that's right, they put it on an obscure channel and don't change the guide to let people know. Glad I missed two full periods watching the Hawks, then the Senators, and then the Rangers practice.

Have you watched any Wings games lately? You are sorely underestimating the speed these kids have.

Woooooo!!!! First postseason in the Eastern Time Zone!!!
Posted Thursday April 17, 2014, About: Getzlaf avoided major scare
Did the same. Original plan was to record what I didn't watch and view it this morning. But it was 4-0 and I jettisoned that idea. Oh well.

Was against the Wings. Think maybe I'll watch the DVDs again tomorrow and see how defenseless he and Snow were.

Oops on the goaltending.

I'm sorry, the Eastern Conference has dominated lately? Sorry, I'll answer the question...since the lockout 5-3 Western Conference. (I suppose now I need to stop being a Western apologist)

He and Osgood were fantastic in that plays and series. Osgood, had they won, would have won the Conn; surprised MAF didn't. That was a tough one to lose (on the way home from work for game 7 some young kid backed into my car, so I knew it was going to be a bad night), but outside of a game 5 meltdown the Pens really brought it.

Not a lot of people possess it. The latest generations can't...hey look at that cardinal, pecking around for a worm. Wonder how long it takes him. ...so wuh, what were we talking about?
Posted Wednesday April 16, 2014, About: The NHL's model franchise?
In my mind I keep thinking that he's a crap d-man, but it's his contract that overshadows that he actually is a solid d-man.
Posted Wednesday April 16, 2014, About: The NHL's model franchise?
Conference final in '07, Cup win in '08, lost in the Final in a 7-game back and forth series in '09. That's a pretty good stretch for the salary cap age.

That being said, Boston is the team you want to be right now, but you can't go as far (yet) as this article is. Especially, even though people have been doubting Holland's track record lately, since Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Howard, Kronwall, Ericsson, Franzen, Nyquist, Tatar, Kindl, Helm, Andersson, Brendan Smith, and Abdelkader are all drafted and homegrown players...and none very high picks.

Pretty much what I was going to say. Wings have just made their 23 straight rodeo. Bruins need to win more than one Cup before you start dreaming this stuff.

Every team, and individual, needs their strategies this time of year.

Drivel, or are you sitting around mindlessly drooling until the first round starts? Either one is acceptable.
