One more time for those who are so blinded by their hatred of Ben and the Steelers they can't see the truth. Ben is the reason the Steelers beat the Bengals, Colts and Broncos to get to the Super Bowl.
In the 3 Playoff games leading up to Super Bowl 40, Ben was 49-72, a 68.1 Comp %, for 680 yards with 7 TDs and 1 Int. His combined passer rating was 123.
While I agree that the new rule makes for a majority of kick-offs boring, I don't like the changes you propose. It's just another thing the refs can screw up. Ultimately, this change may cost some players a job since Special Teams will take on a lesser role, although punt returns should still bring some excitement.
His agent, Don Meehan, has a track record of taking a long time to get a deal done so you may be waiting for quite a while. The worst part about sports today is waiting to see if your favorite team's players are going to sign or move on. The salary cap just adds another element to the mix. I don't doubt they'll get a deal done, but look for it to take time.

Is any score "more important" to a win? Stupid question really.
However, Arizona was winning late in the 4th quarter after the defense gave up 16 points. So yeah, Ben's final TD drive was more important as the Steelers LOSE without it!
Or does the defense magically with the game with mystical points awarded for being the Steelers defense?
Um, yeah. Injuries during the season have absolutely NOTHING to do with who's playing in the Super Bowl there Sparky. Currently the Packers have 7 people on their injury report while the Steelers have 7 as well.
Too early to tell for sure, but it doesn't look good. The Big Legursky did a very good job in the AFC Championship game...minus the fumbled snaps of course, but more reps with Ben should eliminate that problem. Will it hurt to not have Pouncey? Absolutely. But you gotta play the hand you're dealt.
Precisely. If one has such a pathetic existence as Hockey nutsack that he has to do this to entertain himself then so be it. Just be glad you're not him.
You are correct, he is only a Junior. My guess is that he won't get out of the first round or, if he does, won't last long early in the second. His size and potential are just too tempting. He really had a down year this past season, but in fairness, Pitt had a first year starting QB, however it's not like he did anything spectacular to distinguish himself . Like I said, he would definitely benefit from another year in college, but it looks like he's going pro.
