That's just a smokescreen. They would have to physically hold been down to keep him from playing on Sunday--remember the motor cycle accident and the appendectomy when he rushed back to soon? I say there is no doubt he plays.
Posted Tuesday October 13, 2009, About: Bears failing in developing talent?
I have to agree with this. It must be the system considering how Kyle Orton flourished with the Broncos. Kind of similiar to the way Braylon Edwards had a break-out game last night. Benson, on the other hand had, gotten complacent and needed to be humbled to bring his hunger back.
Posted Tuesday October 13, 2009, About: Are Browns shopping Quinn?
Trade him for what? A Cuban Cigar and six pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon? They should have unloaded Quinn while he still had value: before he was allowed to start and show exactly how pitifull he is as a QB.
Posted Monday October 12, 2009, About: NFL owner: Painkiller addiction might nix Limbaugh
Limbaugh is a complete phony and a puppet who is allowed to collect millions of dollars brainwashing and scrambling the brains of unsuspecting listeners. Rush is no more on the side of the average American than any of the other current owners.
Posted Monday October 12, 2009, About: Jauron on Buffalo hot seat
His coaching is almost more atrocious than Eric Mangini. The Bills definitely have a high degree of talent on offense and defense (QB can't throw downfield however). I think Mike Shanahan or Tony Dungy would immediately improve this team.
Posted Monday October 12, 2009, About: Will Titans try Young again?
If anything Young should have the mentality of "F***k what the media and fans think about him and go out and play". He's too sensitive which is what destroys his confidence. Young has a winning record as a starter despite his pedestrian numbers and he was pulled in the first game of last season at a time where Tennesse was winning the game! You can tell he really gets upset when public opinion goes against him, but to be honest some (not all) of the naysayers would oppose him if he went deep into the playoffs every year and had one bad game. I think he has all the skill he needs to be great, but his sensitivity and lack of confidence will be his undoing.
Posted Monday October 12, 2009, About: Why Dolphins passed on Browns trade
I've always said from day one the Browns never should have drafted Brady Quinn or Braylon Edwards. Quinn was always overrated at Notre Dame and it was showcased when he played elite college talent--he will never be a solid NFL starter. Edwards does not have the desire or mental toughness to work towards being a great wide reciever, all he cares about is the lifestyle an NFL career can bring. They did an inside look at him before and during the draft, and it was just so obvious--he's just plain soft and his incredible physical attributes and natural talents are what allowed him to be great in college--in the NFL everyone has the physical talent and you have to work hard to be great. The Browns missed a golden opportunity to trade Quinn and get value this offseason before his horrible play was exposed, and also should have kept Kellen Winslow. Winslow has been immature and silly, but he is a gamer, is tough, and plays with tremendous pride. Trading Quinn and Edwards would have allowed the Browns to fortify the O and D lines which are the cornerstones of good teams.
Posted Saturday October 10, 2009, About: Redskins sabotaging Zorn?
Zorn seems like a nice guy, and he may be smart, but he has no idea what he is doing as a head coach. I would say you could swap Mangini for Zorn and wouldn't see a difference record wise (Redskins have more talented players).
Posted Saturday October 10, 2009, About: Urlacher done with Bears?
I think Urlacher was a pretty good linebacker in his younger days, but he has always been extremely overrated. To be quite frank, the Bears would be well served to cut him and bring in a young talent. I understand he appeals to a large white demographic, which draws even more interest and revenue for the NFL, but his days of even consistent solid play have been over for quite some time, and has been a prime reason why the Bears have struggled on defense the last couple of years.
Posted Tuesday October 06, 2009, About: Ravens: Brady got preferential treatment
The owner is incapable of making competent staffing decisions. Still a Browns fans even though they exemplify what to do to remain awful for over a decade.
Posted Tuesday October 06, 2009, About: Is Crabtree caving in to 49ers?
Yeah, but the difference is if the NFL fielded players with your athletic "capabilities" the league would immediately fold, with bankruptcy proceedings following. Reason for failure--same as the WNBA: Just plain awful and painful to watch.
Posted Tuesday October 06, 2009, About: Ravens: Brady got preferential treatment
Obviously you never played sports.....And "dooknobs" are extremely bright.
Posted Tuesday October 06, 2009, About: Can Manning manage pain?
I guess Eli did get injured kicking the Cheifs asses all over the field Sunday.
Posted Tuesday October 06, 2009, About: Is Crabtree caving in to 49ers?
What an idiotic post. You can't compare Crabtree to Clarett or Jones because both of the latter are criminals whereas Crabtree wants to make as much money as possible. While it does make him look a bit silly from the outside looking in, we don't know the specifics of the contract offer (York is known to be notoriously cheap). After you become old or injured, the NFL doesn't care about you--so why shouldn't he try and get paid as much as possible since the money is being generated.
Posted Tuesday October 06, 2009, About: Ravens: Brady got preferential treatment
I say if your going to hit Brady don't issue love taps----decleat him and fall on him (even if you get there a few seconds late). Take the 15 yards and the fine--I'm sure the Ravens would be willing to cover the fine. That's the only way to really get into his head and make him worry about the rush. Ray Lewis knows this---maybe he just forgot.
Posted Tuesday October 06, 2009, About: Promoter: Braylon Edwards has problem with LeBron
I've always said the Browns made a mistake drafting Edwards from day one, because despite all of his physical gifts--he seems more interested in the spoils an NFL career can bring than being a dominant wide reciever. He's not mentally tough and seems to have a sense of entitlement. At the end of last year I thought the Browns should have gone after Rex Ryan, and traded Braylon Edwards and Brady Quinn, while both still had some value. I knew once Quinn was allowed to play and show his skills--his value would immediately plummet because he has always been an overrated, underaverage QB.
Posted Tuesday September 29, 2009, About: Bills fan dumps popcorn on T.O.
So you actually think that someone dumping popcorn on another man's head is o.k.? These fans really cross the line and need to be held accountable for their actions. Most of the ones engaging in these types of things are unintelligent, meatheads, and frustrated because of their status in life. It shows you Owens is not a criminal given the fact that he didn't retaliate. As for Rodney Harrisons comments: another ex-jock trying to make a name for himself in the media world. He should have never taken personal shots like that, given the fact he is supposed to be an objective professional now. Harrison is much the same as an analyst and a player---a cheating, cheap shot artist.
Posted Thursday September 24, 2009, About: Jets LB: Randy Moss needs to 'man up'
Randy Moss is one of the all time great recievers--and he is smart too. Why go over the middle after a poorly thrown ball, in week two and get beheaded by a 250 plus pound linebacker in week two, for 4 or 5 yards? With his ability it would be smarter to let that play go, stay healthy, and beat your man for a 60 yard TD later---only, Brady didn't have time to set up and throw accurate passes. Moss has reacted in an immature manner over the years out of frustration, but he is an incredible reciever. His unwillingness to absorb the big hit when it is not absolutely necessary is one reason he has been an elite reciever for over a decade.
Posted Monday September 21, 2009, About: King: McNabb unlikely to play in Week 3
Kolb made some plays, but I think Reid protected him early by running a lot of gadget plays. New Orleans doesn't have a very good defense--McNabb better be back by the time they play the Jets or the Eagles may get shut out. Philadelphia is definitely in trouble with their defense--almost as bad as my Browns....
Posted Thursday September 17, 2009, About: Lawn of Bills' McKelvin vandalized
Some of these "fans" are really crazy. I guess life never really panned out like they hoped it would so they carry a lot of hate and anger, which is easily triggered. That being said--he should have gone down and secured the ball after he was first engaged by defenders.
Posted Thursday September 17, 2009, About: Several teams interested in Baskett
This guy is a big reciever with good hands. If you put him next to an elite reciever he would explode and make a name for himself. He can make catches over the middle and he reminds me of Keyshawn Johnson: not a dangerous homerun threat, but able to consistently make tough catches in traffic to move the chains.
