The Yankees farm system is overflowing with potential and/or tested set-up men (Melancon, Cox, Strickland, Britton, Bruney). There aren't quite as many impact starters. Yes, Chamberlain throws too many pitches, perhaps a remnant of his set-up days, but he'll get over it. Putting him back in the bull-pen is... unwise.

I love the Pacers, but you simply cannot trade O'Neal when his value is at its lowest. They should keep him, play him until his value increases, then trade him in the offseason. While he'll be older, it is doubtful they will get less than they can now.

So long as the Yanks still focus on making him a starter in the future, this is a good move. Liriano and Santana were both relievers, but I'd much prefer Joba to be a SP than a reliever.
