Yep, bottom line, trade Malkin. Staal is better for your team in the long run. You can get a couple of good players/picks for him right now despite his fade in the finals. And yes Therrien has to go to. I think the talent got him to the finals not the other way around. Trade Malkin to the Kings for a first round pick and hope they finish near the bottom so you have a chance at Tavares, or that big Swedish d-man with a lottery pick.

Yeah I started it, and I think it's still a good deal for both teams
That's right I forgot that Edmonton had taken the name, I was referring to the Sox and Celtics current reign. I didn't need to be reminded about the Bruins losing to the Oilers, thanks. As far as hockeytown, it's just sad, I don't know how else to put it.
chimbonda | 06/19/08, 12:47 PM
Not to mention getting to play in the current "City of Champions"
mhwings | 06/19/08, 11:51 AM
Or "wasn't that the Bruce Willis movie about the big rock inspace?"
chimbonda | 06/19/08, 11:26 AM
Actually, just to bring up the Wheeler deal again, he actually will be making less money for deciding to play for the Bruins instead of signing with Phoenix, he'll lose $225,000 over the length of his contract, may not be millions but it's just under 10% of his contract each year.
Want to talk about greedy, look no further than Mats Sundin.

I guess I'm an idiot because I wouldn't bother, I'd take the 3 million a season to stay playing for my home town team that my dad played for too. That would be good enough for me, sign me at that for 3-4 years I'd be happy. Then hopefully win a cup in there somewhere and increase your value even more possibly if not I'm still pretty happy with 9-12 million. That's above the poverty line isn't it.

The whole year.....what year was that. As far as your other points, you're right he had no talent surrounding him, Herman Moore was decent, Rodney Peete was decent, decent is probably generous. Pretty easy for other teams to clamp down on the run when that is your passing game. As for hitting the hole and playing like a returner, what you think he didn't want to hit the whole, there just weren't any, not very often anyway he had to run like that to make his yards. And there is no "way" of playing running back, any look into the past RB's in the history of the league will show you that. Emmitt's number's though he's a good running back were a very big by product of the greater bolcking that he had, while Barry's numbers are not completely but, significantly a product of his individual talent. Any look at a number of their runs side by side will show you that.

I doubt if he goes to GB he'll be shoveling anything, unlike the rest of us mid-west suckers. I don't even like fishing but I'd rather have a line in the water on New Year's Eve than shivering may .... of anytime.
actually I was just kidding around with Walz, I actually like the scrappy little guy, his rookie "young guns" card was one of the few I kept for a long time. The picture was taken right after he scrapped someone, a great picture. I was upset that he never stuck with the Bruins. Was glad when he resurfaced with the Wild.
jandssports | 06/19/08, 09:08 AM
True, but Paul was taken with the 4th in his draft, the thing isn't an exact science you never really know how a kid is going to evolve as a player, they may not end up with the next CP but it mightutrn out better than you think.
seabird56 | 06/19/08, 08:09 AM
Well thank you very much, I really appreciate that, you know people tell me that all the time..... hey wait your being sarcastic aren't you, that's just mean. I'm hurt.
Not that anyone can compete with that monterous aquisition the Bruins made for Wheeler...but who knows.
Baun-ded | 06/19/08, 09:15 AM
Why so down on the Bruins? Oh you're a Leaf and Habs fan. Worried the Habs won't be able to beat the Bruins out of the playoffs again, and yes that is getting pretty old already, beat someone else for a change next year. And the leafs well, they are what they are for the time being, nuff said.

Same goes with the train wreck of the Leafs. If they end up getting him they'll give up 3 prospects to do it.

Except for Marc Savard, who finished 3rd in NHL for assists and ahead of Hossa in points, despite not having a legitimate sniper to play with. Hossa on the other hand played with one of the leagues best goal scorers, although on a crappy overall team. That being said I think Hossa will find his happy place in Pittsburgh and have a great year next year. Whether he'll outproduce Savard will remain to be seen.
