Posted Wednesday September 30, 2009, About: Troubled West leaves Cavs guessing
West certainly puts a new spin on "shooting" guard, driving around on his trike with a shotgun in his guitar case like he's El Mariachi...
Posted Thursday August 27, 2009, About: Rampage cast in new A-Team movie
That's odd...Netflix has a completely different cast for the new A-Team movie, including Bruce Willis, Woody Harrelson and Ice Cube as B.A. Baracus--someone is way off base
Posted Wednesday August 05, 2009, About: Irate Fielder charges Dodgers clubhouse
I have to agree with Russel Martin on this one--if Fielder wanted to find Mota, he was standing on the mound seconds after plunking him, don't go chasing him around after the game.

Posted Friday July 17, 2009, About: Wizards in market for big man
This isn't really news, they have something like 10 guards on their roster and traded all of their backup big men to Minnesota. Adding a big man to the bench has nothing to do with JaVale McGee--it's good practice to ignore anything the Washington Times says. The Wiz are not so sorry that they're going to be expecting great things from Chris Wilcox and he won't be starting so long as Heyward and McGee stay healthy. Wilcox will be eating up minutes, giving fouls and getting the occasional rebound ala Darius Songalia. Wilcon would also fill the spot of "Token Terp" on the Wiz roster, a spot vacated by free agent Juan Dixon.
Posted Monday July 06, 2009, About: Marbury to sign with Wizards?
The Wiz already have 20 guards on their roster, I understand Marbury and Flip go way back but unless he has grown a foot in the past week, the Wiz really don't need him.
Posted Wednesday July 01, 2009, About: Nats preparing for more trades?
Also, I get what the post is saying--the most likely candidate to trade is Nick Johnson--a lefty. If you trade Nick, you want another lefty bat and I think the Nats are pretty fed up with Milledge. Hanrahan has an ERA over 7 and proved that he couldn't close, why not take a shot with Burnett.
Posted Wednesday July 01, 2009, About: Sources: Amare not interested in Warriors
Come to Washington--we'll give you any two players on the roster and a future draft pick in exchange. In the spirit of Billy Mays, I'll throw in Andre Blatch and a sham-wow ABSOLUTELY FREE!!
Posted Wednesday July 01, 2009, About: Nats preparing for more trades?
Hmmm, I don't think that's Manny Acta in the picture.
Posted Friday June 05, 2009, About: Fedor's camp wants one-fight UFC deal
I guess being insane on only one account isn't all that bad. I am curious who in the UFC would be a good fight for Fedor? You describe Lesnar as an "MMA pup" and yet he's the #1 heavyweight contender and Mir has never been all that impressive. Nog is past his prime. What other heavyweights constitute quality opponents for Fedor that justify signing a 4 fight deal?

BTW, who is this too hyped Robert you mention in post #3?
Posted Friday June 05, 2009, About: Fedor's camp wants one-fight UFC deal
I think this is a fine idea. If Dana White truly believes that the UFC has the best talent in the business, then let Fedor come in and fight in a one-time, non-title bout against the reigning UFC heavyweight champ. If Lesnar or Mir beat Fedor, then White has silenced any critics. I don't think White will ever put his money where his mouth is because, deep down, he knows that Fedor could crush Mir and/or Lesnar and all his talk about the UFC's premeire talent is mere puffery (at least in terms of heavyweights).
Posted Tuesday June 02, 2009, About: Amare to Washington?
I like it--the Wiz could definitely compete with a healthy Gil (not a safe assumption), the always reliable Butler and Amare. Add in Brendan Heyward and the developing Javele MaGee and Nick Young off the bench. Also, I haven't heard of anyone at that 5th spot that the Wizards love. Wonder if getting Amare would mean the end of Andre Blatche?

Posted Friday May 08, 2009, About: Free-agent Jones stiff-arms Seattle
There is some speculation that Buffalo has interest but if memory serves, Levi came out of the same draft class as Texas product Mike Williams and we all know how that turned out.
Posted Friday May 08, 2009, About: Agent: Harrison plans to play in 2009
I agree 100% percent. If a team like Atlanta that can win now were to bring him in as a safety valve guy, one extra weapon that defenses have to prepare for, why not.
I also would never tell a guy in his mid-30's to retire if he is physically able to perform--the shelf life of an NFL career is short and if he can go out there and make 500K a season, who can begrudge him of that solely because they feel that he has already had a good career. I say make your money while you can, you have the rest of your life to play golf, open car dealerships, etc and if that means leaving Indy, so be it.
Posted Tuesday April 21, 2009, About: Ovechkin spied on Rangers practice
Yet again a T&R headline is misleading. It's not uncommon for visiting players to watch from the stands when the home team skates but Ovie sitting on the bench was unusual and probably done to irk the Rangers. Calling it "spying" is a bit much considering he could be watching the exact same practice from the stands.
Posted Tuesday April 21, 2009, About: Bills-Steelers deal in works?
Not sure why Buffalo is so anxious to trade Roscoe--he's a great return man and would be a strong slot receiver with TO and Lee Evans. That seems much more valuable than a third or fourth round pick.
Posted Friday April 17, 2009, About: Browns swapping Edwards for Crabtree?
The Giants' first round pick plus another choice would be pretty tempting for the Browns. If they do this deal, they better hope that Seattle doesn't take Crabtree with their fourth overall pick because with no Edwards, Stallworth or Crabtree it wouldn't matter who was the QB.
Posted Wednesday April 15, 2009, About: Is Nationals manager on hot seat?
Not to worry, this came from the Washington Examiner. If it were in the Post it might be worth discussing but the Examiner is a complete rag.
