I have no idea who Marbury supporters are going to blame for this, but if he had a real agent, this would probably be over by now.
That is his own fault. Nothing is worse than bad representation in a negotiation.
No matter what its their decision. Marbury should look at Curry as an example. He took the benching, sat down and is doing what the team asks of him.
Unlike Marbury, he accepted that the coach doesn't want to play him. He puts on his uniform and sits. Sometimes plays etc.
Sorry but just because Marbury "wants" to play, doesn't mean the Knicks have to do anything. That is up to the coach. You have a new coach and GM dealing with Isiah's roster. He doesn't see Marbury as a good fit. They are not withholding his salary. They decided to bench him.
If this were like any other sport, where contracts are not guaranteed, he would have been cut before the season started. That is why the NBA sort of sucks. You sign a guy to a contract, you are stuck with that guy unless you find someone who is willing to eat a contract.
Sorry, but Marbury is not a victim. Well other than a victim of his own ego. He should enjoy being paid for the best courtside seats in Madison Square Garden.
I know a ton of people who wouldn't mind switching places with him. I would take $20 million to wear a Knicks uniform and mop the floor, or remove the wood floor for the ice that is there during Rangers games.
Why does anyone feel bad for him? This is a business to him and he is getting paid either way. The fact of the matter is, over the past 4 years he has been terrible. His team has been terrible with him as the PG. The PR for the team has been terrible with his antics, and he can't get himself out of the newspapers. Why as a coach, or a GM trying to turn this team around, would you want this as a part of the team, the players you are going to keep past this year? He has already stated he is leaving after this year, and there is no way in hell that the Knicks are going to re-sign him, so why play him?
He doesn't know how to play good team ball. Basketball is more than just on court skills. Its about not **** off your teammates and strapping a claymore to team chemistry.
I am not terribly surprised that Randolph is gone, but I did think that Richardson would go first. Considering how much he makes, his age, and his frequent visits to the injured list, I thought he woudl go first.
Those two picks went to the Blazers, Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge. Yeah, I want those picks back too.
How can you feel bad for someone who created his own mess. Its not like he is broke. He is collecting a check, so you can't cry for him.
I don't see you guys hollering for Jerome James and Eddie Curry? What they don't deserve the same treatment?
The current Knicks administration needs to clean house of Thomas' terrible roster and bloated contracts.
I am actually happy that someone has finally grown enough spine to show a NBA star with a big contract that its a team sport, and if you act like a fool, you don't get to play.
Well if its a Finals game, where he seems to shrink, I would go with Byron Scott, Michael Cooper, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, MJ, etc.
He disappears in the Finals, look at his all time stats. So if you want to win the Finals, I would want anyone but Kobe taking the shot.
And personally I would rather have MJ. You show me a clip of Kobe clinching a NBA championship with a jumper like MJ did against Utah and maybe I consider him, but until then, no way do I rely on him with his Finals history.
He is an older version of Michael Redd, except with a bad attitude and an awful contract.
Worst PG available for a variety of reasons, age, contract, no D....
Worst PG in the NBA. Just see what he does to any team after adding him to the mix.
Someone needs to turn these people into actual adults. This is a first good step.
If you are going to foul, foul. That was a soft foul by a big man.
Go to Oakley's Big Man's School of how to Foul in the paint.
The most obvious call ever in the NBA (See Lamar's entire hand on Ray Allen's face) isn't whistled.
At a certain point, you have to ask yourself, **** is a foul and what isn't in this league anymore.
How can no one blow the whistle on that play and blow those ridiculous ones on screens and reach ins?
You have a clear "My fist is going in his mouth and he is going to say TRUCK!" foul, and not a peep.
NBA officiating is just sinking to the lowest of any pro sport.
