Everyone id using the same equipment today. Everyone has the same advantages and yet Tiger comes out on top. He's obviously a greater talent. As far as talent around him, I would argue that he's not responsible for other peoples ability (or lack thereof). I'd love to have seen him take on the Golden Bear and his contemporaries.

Cuttino Mobley is the only recent player to convert from two guard to point guard in the NBA and be successful and I wouldn't call him an elite player, but he was successful and effective at the point in the NBA.

So I guess this all makes your point about two guards "converting" to "points".

But I agree, none of them went from two guard to point guard.

All of them were point guards who could shoot like two guards (or shooting guards) when necessary.

Monroe and Robertson were both ROY. Tiny is probably closest to Mayo in terms of size and style of play. But I don't think that Mayo is as quick or fast as Tiny.
