Barry will be running the show.

That yellow power tie and wolfish grin tells you all you need to know.
Posted Saturday July 12, 2008, About: NHL fends off Russian threat
I simply can't see the average NHL bozo wanting to live in the Gulag. No matter how many rubles they are paid.
Hank Kingsley

All the Russians want to live in Moscow. It's so popular you can only move there by lottery. BMWs, Mercedes, Nite Clubs. Fashion. Swimming pools, movie stars :) LOTS of class division. The standard of living there is quite high compared to the rest of the interior and pretty comparable with any major western city. Somehow I think that any NHL player(s) of note that defected to the Russian League would be put up quite nicely over there.......Putin himself would see to that. BTW, he's going to select the short one to succeed him as Russia's next PM. For Russia's hockey league, kind of like what JFK did with LBJ.......

Oh! I mention a 12 gauge and you turn into a "hound dog!"
DCruiser

Not good at catchin' rabbits but willing and able to be a friend.
Had to run before you saw John and Kirk ( see post above ) doing the lip lock ( it was bad, even by my standards). T Rocks is outa sardines and I'm outa pacas so we had no more ammo! Had to morph - sounds like just in the nick of time, too :)
Now where's the peanut butter and those fried bananas????

CUT THE CRAP !

50/50 guess, this is #11 for ya? Gettin' close to that discount you are if that's the case.

You're a good dad. As I can see your technical knowldege of the game easily exceeds mine ( being from NJ I grew up playiing stick ball and running numbers - bad joke ) I defer to you on the new Rangers and concede thay may be legitimate contenders for the throne. I will keep my money where it is however and gladly show up with kinife and fork in hand if need be. And if you come down to DC I'll buy you a draft!
As for Jagr, being a DC boy now, I have no abding love for him of course. I don't know if you saw that post by Last Call " run out of DC by a lynch mob......" a wee bit of an exaggeration but certainly no one was pining for him to stay. BTW, check your mail. See ya ( it's been nice that FN lets us use this outdated thread as a personal chat room haha ).

In the meantime I will send you a friend invite from work. I have separate IDs for home and work but find it hard to compete with my wife's addiction to Popit and my son's addiction to skateboard videos here,,,,,,,and it's been nice having this outdated thread as a personal chat room with you hahahha. See ya.

Salt goes well on everything:) Don't know too much about this guy Naslund but between what I've read on him here and losing Jagr, I just don't see the Rangers going that far. Are you old enough to remember their great team from the 70's: Gilbert, Ratelle, Park, etc. They were my favorite Rangers team ever. Lost a heartbreak Finals to the Canadiens. Gotta pick Detroit to go all the way: They kept therir core and added the mercenary as well......

I mean Conference Finals. FN posts not going through, sending sending sending. Gotta be a conspiracy.

just remember the call seabird if you have to eat crow at the end of the season.
Badger Bob

Tastes just like chicken! I have a nice set of bone-handled steak ware just in case I have to make a meal out of it again but methinks the Rangers will get no further than the Finals, if they even make it that far. And I'll stcik with Detroit in 6.
I'll remember ( this will qualify as LONG TERM memory, right??? )

We lost Huet to the Hawks, too. Ouch. I didn't think Leonsis would let that happen.

Last week's news this is! Slow off the draw, T&R is today.
YODA

Ah YODA, thinking of you I was today, thinking of the issue you raised with Messrs. Bowman and Jackson and wondering if you might think the same of one R. Auerbach? Sacrilege this may be - and he was very dismissive of Mr. Jackson BTW but he did have some very stacked teams......of course he WAS the architect of those teams. I think he was true genius but wondering where you would stand on the issue o wise one......

Chris Farley? Isnt he dead? I look nothing like a decomposing guy
bgn

Geez, I'm at home and can't put up my Chris Farly Avatar ( can I get arrested by that Officer Baun-ded for putting up TOO many Avatars???? ) Anyway, I'm just asking that my name not be used in vain, that's all...... Thanks, Chris

BTW, Belcihik speaks to me every week. Got the video, too.

Seriously, Hank, bgm, I'm 51 years old, 5'8, weigh in at 140 soaking wet and have a surgically repaired back with residual numbness in my right foot. Don't make me have to step in to separate you two. Please don't do it. I'm beggin' ya LOL!!!

p.s. as a hockey novice I get to say this without retribution: the Bruins will go farther than the Oilers next year. Especially if they get Hossa. OK, I'll put my protective gear on now....

Where is Baun-ded today? Usually he makes an appearance by now.
bostongm

He's out there. Just tell somebody that they need an Avatar and he will come swooping down from on high to put you in your proper place lol! Please Mr. Policeman, don't arrest me for impersonating an officer.....BTW, I claim my home exemption again......

You got the videotape to back that up?
Posted Monday June 23, 2008, About: Flyers close to signing Carter
Briere had 10 pts in the first round against Washington. A franchaise record.

Briere looked great in the series against us ( Caps ), especially on the power play and then became a progressively non-factor in the series to follow until he was practically invisible against Pittsburgh.

Briere has gone to the Final Four the last 3 seasons. He has pulled his own weight to get to the Final Four. After he gets there he stops producing

The Briere dilemma. Philly gets him, becomes instantly respectable, going from dead last in the NHL to Eastern conference finalists. In the very first post I put up on FN, I made the comment, incurring the wrath of at least one Flyers fan, that if Philly is content to compete for the POW Trophy then stick with him but if it's the Cup you want then you'll have to trade him for younger and faster talent. After reading what bgm and hank wrote about his history, I think that assessment is justified. Fire away, Philly.

What's with the Avatar Seabird?...tsk tsk tsk.

LOL The non - Avatar is from my creaky old iMac at home. It wouldn't let me put up the bird for some reason. Off to the Dew Cup ( skating /BMX pro comp ) in Baltimore with my son. More later.
Posted Sunday June 22, 2008, About: Rangers want to keep Jagr
He was great in the playoffs, no questioning that. I just wonder about his mental state in the regular season. But I too believe he'll pick the glory of the NHL over going back to Europe.
