Posted Friday April 11, 2014, About: MLB players still consider Cruz a cheater
Spot on. If MLB players are serious about getting juicers out of the game, they should be howling for more stringent testing instead of supporting a union that enables cheaters.

Hypocrites, all.
Posted Monday March 31, 2014, About: Idzik didn't want DeSean
He's a punk. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 ft. pole. He doesn't realize (and never will) that playing in the NFL is a privilege, regardless of talent. He has no skills or education to make a living in the real world. I detest his kind of athlete. He typifies what is wrong in professional sports.
Posted Monday March 24, 2014, About: Will Cabrera top Pujols' $240M?
Scherzer was stupid for not taking the offer...unless he just wants out of Detroit. Can't blame him there.

Cabrera is one of the all-time great hitters but you don't give ten-year megabuck contracts to 30-something players.
Posted Sunday March 23, 2014, About: Nolan Ryan, Tommy John: MLB pitchers coddled
Pitchers nowadays are coddled because they are so expensive. Nolan signed the first $1 mil/yr contract in American sports when he signed with the Astros in 1980. $1 mil/yr won't get a bottom-of-the-bullpen rag-arm these days.
Posted Saturday March 22, 2014, About: Report: DeSean Jackson believes he's out in Philly
MeSean is a punk and "go long" is the only route he can run effectively. He will be out of the NFL soon, cutting a rap video that will go nowhere....like his football career.
Posted Wednesday March 12, 2014, About: Vick's last chance
Vick had the talent and the chance. He squandered both. He's a has-been now.
Posted Sunday March 09, 2014, About: Report: Redskins have 'major' interest in Aqib Talib
That's funny right there.
Posted Saturday March 01, 2014, About: Rangers to sell Russell Wilson merchandise
Correctamundo!

The Rangers paid $12000 for drafting Wilson, knowing it was highly unlikely he would ever play for them in a MLB game. What he does is bring favorable publicity to the franchise, especially in light of his SB win.

Major sports is big business. The object of any business is to make money. Big business makes big money.
Posted Sunday February 23, 2014, About: Report: Nelson Cruz passed on more lucrative Rangers offer
Cruz is still hoping for a lucrative multi-year deal. As DH, his potential value wouldn't be as great. Of course, that hinges on him having a good year both at the plate and in the outfield to prove his worth.

I think it's a reach at best.
Posted Saturday February 22, 2014, About: Report: Orioles close to signing Nelson Cruz
I think it's significant that the Rangers, who know Cruz best, declined on anything more than a one-year qualifying offer to Cruz.

Cruz is 34 years old and his previous production may/may not have been partly attributed to PED use. He's a great team guy but I see red flags surrounding a multi-year deal.

Oh well, we can start calling Baltimore "Texas East." Lots of former Rangers on that team.
Posted Wednesday January 01, 2014, About: Four teams chasing Cruz, he says
He's 34 years and turned down the one-year qualifying offer of $16 mil from the Rangers. I wish him the best but he may regret that particular decision.
Posted Wednesday November 13, 2013, About: Cards are ripe for a blockbuster deal
Every MLB team is poised to make a blockbuster trade at this point. Where does SI find these morons?
Posted Sunday November 10, 2013, About: Lawrence Taylor: Jonathan Martin should find another job
LT is right, looking at it from a purely football perspective. There is no room in the NFL for shrinking Violets or sissies, especially those that crave public sympathy. Jonathan Martin needs to grow a pair or take up something safe, like knitting.

I'm an old man and not nearly the size of JM but I'd take a baseball bat to someone's knees before I would leave a career because I was being bullied. Good grief!
Posted Sunday November 03, 2013, About: Will Cowboys take legal action against Jay Ratliff?
Ratliff has been on a downward spiral since he was injured last November. First he gets in a shouting match with the guy who signs his paycheck, not wise, gets arrested for DUI in the offseason, refuses to re-hab at team facilities under team doctor supervision, then refuses to play for the team that payed him millions more than he was worth.
Jerry won't win the "legal action" but I don't blame him for trying. I do blame him for paying age. That's a cardinal sin in the NFL.
Posted Friday November 01, 2013, About: Berkman gone, Nathan next?
I'm a Nolan Ryan fan but I think he gets way too much credit for the Rangers' success of the past few years. He did lend an air of credibility to a woebegone franchise but it's time to move on. Nolan didn't exactly endear himself to me the way he acted like a spoiled child when his "president's" title was given to Daniels. One could even make the case that his actions hurt the team.
He could still be with the organization as CEO, representing the team in owner's meetings, sitting in his box along the first base line and occasionally throwing out the first pitch in a playoff game. He chose not to. Adios, Nolan.
Posted Sunday October 27, 2013, About: Rangers have to decide on closer
I think San Fran has more pitchers and catchers than Boston.
Posted Sunday October 27, 2013, About: Rangers have to decide on closer
I agree on passing. Even with his 43 saves, I never felt confident with Nathan closing games. The Rangers have Scheppers, Feliz, Soria and Ogando, any one of whom could close. Both Feliz and Soria should be much stronger next season.

I'm hoping for a name change to the Washington Taxocrats or maybe the Landover Libtards.

How could anyone seriously consider living and working in Detroit?
Posted Thursday October 17, 2013, About: Hot seat for Shanahan
Yep. Circa 2020, they might be contenders again.
