Michigan's offense is getting better, and they will have an ACTUAL quarterback coming in next year (#1 dual threrat in the country) in Devin Gardner.
Defensively - Carr BANKRUPTED the talent of that unit his last 5 years, and only about 20% of his recruits on defense panned out to become anything. Look it up. He totally destroyed the talent level to the point that this team plays MULTIPLE WALK ONS every Saturday.
True, the defense needs to get better, but give the man time to get his players in there - offensively they'll be much better next year with all the spread-o recruits they're getting, and defensively, hes got to restock a TOTALLY bare cupboard
He'll get 1 more year, guaranteed, to show improvement - he should get more, but if this team isn't 8-4+ next year, hes gone
But for God Sakes its amazing how people hate this guy...lay off...hes a good coach that landed in a bad situation after Carr left and took tons of talent with him
GOD is everyone insane???
bottom line - its 2001-2008 reversed now, G Bush galvanized the liberals with hatred, and Obama does the same with conservatives...both sides overreact and overplay their own side's awesomeness and the other side's "ruining of the country" - same old story in repeat
UM the 19th ranked University (grad and undergrad)...in the world... the next highest university with major college sports? Northwestern (big ten)...next? UCLA all the way down in the 30's... I'd say that's an asset to many recruits - not all of them are dumb as rocks
This just shows the stupidity with which we are dealing here...yeah, why wouldn't FLA recruits want to be sitting it 95 degree 100% humidity 7 months out of the year...also, weather is everything to a football player, you all know how much Green Bay, Pittsburgh, and New England just SUCK in the NFL...
And Ann Arbor is a beautiful city...not like Detroit at all - when I visited there to check out the school before I went to UM, I was very impressed...awesome college town.
I love how people pile on UM...maybe its the (admittedly) stuck up/elitist fanbase and alumni that just rub all those southern hillbillies and western crack-addicts the wrong way...see, its possible to have a world-renown academic institution and nationally competitive sports! wow, now go drool with jealousy and respond with your weather insults
BTW - I love all the hating on this site - I guess people are jealous of the "high and mighty" attitudes of these institutions and so will hate on them no matter what the story is about - it could read "RR donates $millions to charity" and people would still find a way to badmouth him and-or UM
Bottom line - Officials had a net ZERO effect on this game...it was a good hard fought game that ND just game a little short of
In the end ND is in year 5 with ALL Charlie the Hut's recruits and he still couldn't get it done over a year 2 RR team with little depth at this stage of the rebuilding... sad for ND fans
