you can only salvage Melo to a point... hes a very good player - but hes not all the NY crowd crack him up to be at this point
You're comparing Melo, who's been in the league a full 9 YEARS, to Irving, who just completed his 2nd year in the league with a total bottom feeder team - and is widely recognized as one of the best up and coming players in the NBA
Who else in Carmello's Draft?
Lebron, for all his "choking" has been playing big and winning playoff series and getting to a finals, for years and years now. He was carrying that Cleveland team and dragged nobodies to the Finals
DWade was a finals MVP and was a monster on his way to that first championship.
Bosh, has been one of the best big men in the game, and still played a critical role in winning the championship last year in the finals
These are carmello's peers - and for the most part his playoff resume is just not up to par as of yet. Not saying he can't do it - but he hasn't yet put a team on his back and just won games and series like those other guys have in the playoffs.
Comparing him to Irving, also, is just laughable.. 2 year rising star on awful team vs 10 year veteran playing with at least some talent... come on
Im amazed by the lack of class that is accepted by people, even in this thread....
Fans were yelling crude things at the mans wife and kids, and people are justifying it because of the situation that happened in the sporting world? Have some freaking class.... boo the man, and leave his wife and kids alone
No hope for the human race when someones family is ridiculed and then the man is criticized for making light of the inappropriate behavior..... disgusting
Of course most Big Ten recruiting is weak - there is a reason the conference spent a good many years (before RR) as the Big2 little10.... there are just too few other schools with as much natural positioning/tradition/big name
Nebraska would be the addition that would have the most to change with that, being a powerhouse program with multiple NCs in the (fairly) recent past. Penn State is crippled, MSU is 2nd fiddle in state, IU is Basketball, NU is up and down but not a traditional power, same with Purdue, Iowa is hit or miss, Wisc has done well but doesn't have quite the talent base for consistent staying power on top.
Its just the make up of the Big Ten, and has been for a long time with the exception of the lean years for Michigan. tOSU and UM have always gobbled up the best classes in the region historically
you're an ignorant fool.... yeah its much better to be a serial woman abuser and generally bad human being off the field, than to talk trash on it.
you sound like a bitter, angry, Patriots hater.... and you proved it by lauding big ben of all people... he of multiple off the field and character issues... classy
Both these teams are headed for good places - Hoke is still recovering from a dearth of talent from the RR debacle, and the game was still very competitive this year, and could have gone either way. We're only getting better and better players, and that talent gap will close and the games will be down to the wire every year, as they should be. I Hope they keep Gardner for 1 more year only... but who knows what they have worked out with Morris as to redshirting and such.
Either way he's coming in and we finally will have a real quarterback again. Thanks DR for getting through a transition era, but its time for some actual quarterback play to be on this team, just imagine what could be accomplished with just that addition
love all the overreaction to the knicks start... you can tell its a new york team because all those who were defending lin last year, are bashing him now., and you'd think the knicks have won 3 titles and are going to go 80-2 this year by listening to some of the comments LOL
people are blasting players for taking the money all the time... and Allen takes less to try and go for another ring in the latter stage of his long career - its not that big of a deal, biased fans are unbelievable
god celtic fans are bitter - as you all say - he WASN'T a lifelong celtic
he took less money to play for a BETTER TEAM, a defending championship team, to so what every true competitor wants to do, WIN
very disappointed in celtic fans reaction to this whole thing - you'd have no problem poaching others players for a championship run, but god forbid you are crossed yourself

some people root FOR things... I know, bizarre, isn't it?
