I really don't know why this doesn't happen more often. Everybody complains about needing bullpen help and you rarely see starters put in the pen to help. Surely there must be a bunch of starters with 2 quality pitches that would be effective from the bullpen especially for a contender down the stretch.

I feel sorry for KC fans... If management thinks picking up 3rd rate free agents is making moves then god help you. That ownership and front office should get their check books out and give their fans a real team or have the team taken off them. Float it on the stock market and let the fans buy a share of it. At least they care!

And 88 Million worth of payroll free this winter for the Yankees? What does that mean? It means get your check books out because everybody's payroll will be going up this winter unless you're happy to swim in the bottom end of the FA pool.

I think this season is a success for the Yankees and management finally put in place a plan to give us a realistic chance at winning the WS in the very near future. Keeping the prospects may still prove to be a great move and they had so much cash tied up in contracts set years ago that changing anything would have had little impact in the big picture of things. At the end of this season a ton of payroll is dropped to make room for big free agents who will put us back into contention. And lets face it, take away the injury to Wang who is arguably good enough himself to make up the 5 game deficit in the wild card and we would be in the playoffs without much of a rotation. So really in the big scheme of things this season may very likely be one of those one step backwards for two steps forwards kind of years. I'd prefer that than the last 8 years of having glimmers of hope that amounted to nothing.

Hughes, Kennedy & everyone else to the bullpen. And we'll make Cano the captain and Damon can be the PA announcer. Anything else?
