Let's get one thing straight. No one has ever suggested that any of the players involved used star caps to mask steroid or drug use. Star Caps did not list the prohibited ingredients so the players had no way of knowing what they were ingesting. That is what this is about. The NFL doesn't want to show any weakness at all and that is why they have been so idiotic about this. If a new road was built and the city forgot to put a "No Parking" sign up and then you got a ticket for parking there, should you have to pay the ticket? Of course not. The players did nothing wrong which is why the courts ruled the way they did. No one has ever suggested that Deuce McAllister used steroids, nor Charles Grant or Will Smith or the Viking players for that matter. In this case the league's policy was flawed and it is a good thing the courts saw it that way.

What's wrong with the NFL is simple: personal seat licenses, $9 hot dogs and $6 cokes, and $40 to park (using Cowboys Stadium as a reference). I always assumed that player salaries would be brought under control once it became obvious that they are so out of line with reality. But I completely underestimated the ability of teams to gouge fans to the current extent.

OMG. I love Chad as a football player, but as a HUGE fan of the American men's national team, I for one am thrilled he is not a soccer player. I cannot imagine how many international conflicts would have begun had he ever played in a World Cup.

This is stupid. White tape? Seriously? How about boosters paying high school coaches to direct players to Alabama. Or Alabama opening recruiting other school's recruits while on their campus for away games. Stupid little things like the white tape take away from the many serious recruiting violations that Alabama has committed and continues to commit. And no I am not an LSU fan.

When I first saw this story, I thought, "How in the hell are they going to get black athletes to go to St. Louis if Rush is part owner?" And of course, yes, some would go. But not the best, not those with other options.

I attended the University of Mississippi and anyone who doesn't think the school's association with the Confederate flag hurt the school in recruiting top quality black athletes during the 70s and 80s is kidding themselves. There was no more racism at Ole Miss than any other SEC school at the time, but that was the perception. Now, Rush may or may not be as pure a racist as exists anywhere these days, but facts don't matter. Perceptions matter. Rush is perceived as a racist and this absolutely would be an issue to many athletes - just as it should be.

Nice. I used to dislike Chad too until I figured out that he's just having fun, playing with the media. He has apologized for his holdout last year and it sounded honest and believable. Punching Ray Lewis - RAY LEWIS - in the mouth? That's the funniest thing I've heard all day! Go Chad!

You mean the wonderful new thing that the taxpayers of Arlington, TX have produced. I'm going to the stadium for the first time this weekend - and looking forward to it - but find it disgusting that a man with this much money couldn't even pay for his own stadium.

I always thought a sucker punch was one that was unexpected. If I'm tapping some big dude on their shoulder and talking S*** right in their face, I'm expecting to get punched. The official story line is that Blount had missed a number of team meetings and this was more or less the last straw. I would hope that a player with no history of problems wouldn't be dealt such a severe penalty.

A theist or not a theist, some of us get a little tired of getting this stuff crammed down our throats. Just imagine the uproar if an atheist athlete wore a message disavowing a god on their uniform. Read the letters to the editor in the last issue of SI, and you will see that there are more than a few people fed up with this type of fundamentalism.

The reason people are tired of Favre is because the media and fans continue to unnecessarily harp on him even when there is absolutely NOTHING happening and nothing to report. For example, today I was reading this Truth and Rumors thread about Pacman Jones, when suddenly there it was: someone with a Brett Farve fetish was posting about it again, for no reason whatsoever. It's like bad TV. If you don't like, don't read it. Or in this case, if you don't like it, don't bring it up.

As much as I like many of the coaches, players, and former players involved - including Drew Brees and Archie Manning - it isn't surprising that another "get rich quick" scheme turned out to be a ruse. But the story here isn't about the money; it's about the Saints cutting 9-year long snapper Kevin Houser who was sort of the go-between between the Saints and the film studio. The questions being asked in New Orleans have to do with "Was he cut because of this?"

Yeah, I know this is boring compared to other off season news, but hey, it is the off season.

And your comment is also BS. I'm probably one of the most liberal people on here, and I think that amount of child support is ridiculous. I don't know much about child support since thus far I've avoided that, but isn't there a law or guidelines or something? Is it really up to each judge to decide how much a child gets? How much would a "conservative judge" award? I would be interested in seeing some actual data. Without it, your comment is nothing but BS opinion.

The first question was already answered: "Tennessee leads most SEC schools in football-related secondary violations since Lane Kiffin was hired as coach on Dec. 1, 2008, according to information obtained through Freedom of Information requests by the News Sentinel. Tennessee has had six. Ole Miss is next with five.

That having been said, I would also be curious in seeing how the SEC ranks in comparison to other conferences.
