Yep, just as much as it is the PGA's choice to stop giving exemptions to Daly and make him actually earn the freebie spots he gets on the tour. He's just lucky the PGA hasn't made flipping burgers his choice to do so.
Oooooh, Tribe, thou dost wound me. S'alright, it's not easy to catch oneself twisting in the breeze on a silly argument.
This wasn't about coming in cleats-up, which is dirty pool. Won't argue with that. But this whole time you've been preaching from your magical Unwritten Rule Book about rights-to-base paths, and that's what this is about. So say what you want, ham-and-egger; doubt I've seen you playing baseball beyond Hog's Knuckle High School.
Tribe, I think YOU need to stop digging this hole and start thinking. First it's unwritten, now it's in the rule book. But you're going to refer to the rule book but refuse to cite the passage? Sure, whatever you say.
LOL!!! And where exactly does your magical unwritten rule book say that the runner is supposed to GO once he's "lost the right" to the base path?!? Straight up? If a base runner takes a step to the left or right in a DP sitch, he may get called for interference, or take a ball to the face. That's why you often see these guys taking slides, even though they're long-gone out; they have nowhere else to go. I ask again, have you ever even played a single inning of baseball or softball?
Any more "unwritten" rules you'd like to enforce?
Have you actually ever PLAYED baseball, or even beer league softball?!? That's the dumbest thing I've read in a long time. No player is EVER required or even "supposed" to yield to the defense. With that logic, then there would never be any reason for running over the catcher, now would there?
Pound sand, A-Rod. Burger King is hiring.
THIS is why Steve Smith is invaluable to the Panthers. Call out the rook, in front of cameras if need be, especially if he's whining about his rookie season to the media. Get your act togther, kid....it's a cut-throat league and you may not get another warning.
Neither is it fair or realistic for you to judge Joe Torre based on any absurd criteria you might dream up.
Yeah, he waited. Been sandbagging all these years. What's it like to work at NASA?
That over-the-hill catcher led the Yankees most of the year in hitting, smart guy.
He's been to the playoffs every single year he's been with the organization. Yanks finished first in the AL East all but two of those 12 years. Maybe in videogames that's not remarkable, but Joe Torre has gone above and beyond reasonable expectations. Reasonable, that is, outside of the mind of Darth Steinbrenner and other folks who don't know what they're talking about.
