I feel like I'v already gotten into this with you but your whole point of PSu having to pay Shiano more and that is what they don't want to do b/c JoePa made so little is completely wrong.
JoePa made so little because he never wanted a raise. He never wanted more money. He was completely content with the money he made. Your "$2 million" extra salary theory is what PSU craps out on a daily basis. There is a reason why PSU has one of the largest alumni groups in the entire country. The Big-Ten has the 3rd highest average salary for coaches... with a lot of that going to Kirk Ferentz... you think PSU doesn't value the job more of what Shiano is capable of than Ferentz? They'd be more than willing to pay.
Btw, I really dont think that Pete Carroll is gonna leave USC. The fact that LA doesn't have a NFL team only makes USC that much more appealing to Carroll. He and his program is what defines LA football. Plus, he already coached in the NFL and realized he wasn't any good at it.
"1970 somethin" by BIGGIE.. that should be Philadelphias theme song. maybe the Philadelphia Soul can win you guys a championship
last year the big ten had a team go 11-1 and make it to the national championship. We also had 2 teams go 9-3 that made it to new years day bowl and a BCS bowl while another team went 8-4 making to a new years day bowl. if anything, your first point solidifies why shiano would leave rutgers..... to go the a better conference where the draw is better.
second off.. the reason we never paid a coach more than a million was because paterno never wanted to money. when his salary was made public, people were shocked he made so little. his repsonse was and i quote was "i got all the money i need." what... do u think we were going to pay the coach before him more than million back in 1965? trust me... psu will shell out the money.
third.. the past 6 NC, the big 10 has had 3 teams make it (all being ohio state). whens the last time a big east school made it? virginia tech? they bolted from the big east right after that....
penn state is as mighty and powerful as we think it is..... a lot more than rutgers is..
Why wouldn't he want to leave a team that plays in the Big East and goes 9-2 one year and make it to the Texas Bowl?
Why wouldn't he want to leave to go to a program that can pay him millions more dollars?
Why wouldn't he want to greater tap into the midwest recruiting hotbed at a school that has the tradition and power?
i'm from jersey but went to PSU and we all know that PSU dumps on Rutgers. Don't get me wrong, I hope all the best for RU bc it's a point of pride being from Jersey.... but let's be realistic.... and i don't wanna here about the huge plot of land RU gave him.... have you seen the land around happy valley????
