While I am definetely not an Avery apologist, I agree that this is a ridiculous suspension. Compared to the sins of others, this punishment definetely doesn't fit the crime. (I am a huge fan of Eric Cole's, even though he has left Carolina) If one wants to get serious about policing hockey, first look at the intentional boarding, head shots, and cheap shots. Then worry about what a loudmouth says about an ex. While it was totally lacking in class, I did get a little chuckle out of his comment and was looking forward to see the reaction on the ice that night.
