Posted Thursday September 17, 2009, About: Rangers in market for defenseman
From what I've heard the Rangers are offering him less than what he made last year. That's a slap in the face especially because he's considered a promising improving young player. Sather needs to wake and stop playing Hardball not Dubi.
Posted Monday September 14, 2009, About: What Toronto is offering for Kessel
If Chiarelli is smart he'll get Sather heavily invovled.
Posted Sunday September 13, 2009, About: Olympics could cost Ovechkin
Apparently Malkin and Kovalchuk said the same thing to Oveckhin at All Star break. THey just haven't got any headlines. Im sure he'd recoup the money somehow, probably in the KHL, like was already mentioned. His passion is what makes him such a great player, and right now he is passionate about the Olympics.
Posted Tuesday September 08, 2009, About: Bruins, Kessell at impasse?
Right now, I dont believe Kessel is worth any more than 4mil a year average. He put up his numbers playing with Savard who is a top 5 passer in this league. He also had little defensive responsibility, so basically he put all his effort into scoring. The Leafs might be better served holding onto the the draft picks and the Salary cap space till the trade deadline and see if a more proven scorer is available. After all, Kessel is injured so there is no need to jump on him now. Though this injury is currently considered career threatening wouldnt you want to make sure he comes back 100% before you commit to him. Like someone else said he seems an awful lot like the American Zherdev so why not go sign Zherdev to a deal and not lose any draft picks.
Posted Wednesday August 26, 2009, About: NHL to flip Coyotes?
I think they are trying to say the NHL wants to flip the Coyotes to Ice Edge Holdings. Which at first glance makes no sense because IEH put in a bid, but The might have just put in its own bid just to give the Judge another option that isn't Balsillie. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the NHL bought the team and sold it for about a 20 mil to 40 mil loss.
Posted Monday August 24, 2009, About: Sharks next captain will be...
Exactly, he wont do what makes Crosby so good. Thus the Pens win the cup and the Sharks are out early.
Posted Sunday August 23, 2009, About: Sharks next captain will be...
The Star Players get so much press and get paid so much that they are the face of the franchise, guys with heart who hate losing are cheap and easier to move and replace than a big ticket star. So the Star usually gets the C. Frankly changing who wears the C doesnt mean that much. If the Sharks dont make a significant change they'll be down the same road this season
Posted Wednesday August 19, 2009, About: Sharks strip Marleau, Thornton of captain's honors
Im not so sure he would say he is ok with relinquishing the C, if he didnt already know what was coming. The Sharks desperately need a gritty outspoken leader who can score also, too bad they cant find a 25 year old JR lying around.
Posted Wednesday August 19, 2009, About: Rangers-Dubinsky talks hit speed bump
As of right now Dubinsky has not signed a contract he is only property of the Rangers right now. The QO the Rangers extended to him was done to preserve the club's rights to Dubinksy anf keep him an RFA. THe Zherdev situation is different because he was arbitration eligible.
Posted Monday August 17, 2009, About: Rangers-Dubinsky talks hit speed bump
He hasnt accepted a QO if he did he'd be signed. The Rangers merely extended a QO to retain his rights. He could just sit out the year if the Rangers don't give him the raise he wants , but I don't think that will happen. Another team could give him an offer sheet, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
Posted Sunday August 16, 2009, About: Is KHL getting serious?
You realize Russia is a part of Europe and Canada is not. THe NHL would be something without the Euro stars, it just would not be as good. A Majority of the players in the League are North Americans and if the Euro ever stopped coming over, I'm confident the NHL would evolve to accomodate that change. Besides the NHL offers gaurenteed contracts. The Players know when and how much they will be paid not all KHL teams can say the same.
Posted Thursday August 13, 2009, About: Wild, Lightning eyeing Tanguay
He'll probably be cheaper this year than he was last year. He probably wont get more than a 1 or 2 year deal, so maybe he'll start checking out the KHL for a bigger deal.
Posted Thursday August 13, 2009, About: Kane 'devastated' at accusations
"It since has been reported Radecki locked the doors of the cab and wouldn't let the Kanes exit until they had paid and that Radecki, 62, had been driving with a revoked license."

Of course he wouldn't let them exit until they paid that's how it works with a cab. Bad time to be driving without a license that will undoubtedly cost Radecki some payoff money. His side of the story is looking a little worse each day. What's next it comes out he doesnt wear glasses or a hobo punched him out and robbed him earlier in the night?
Posted Tuesday July 21, 2009, About: Sharks circling Heatley?
As much as a trade between the sharks and the Sens makes sense player-wise it makes no sense salary cap wise. Both teams are up against the cap and need salary cap relief. The Sens can't handle both Marleau and Cheechoo's contract. With Kovalev signed the Sens are expecting to trade Dany.
Posted Sunday July 19, 2009, About: Axelsson leaving Bruins?
Oh no he almost signed a deal with another team last week. What a lazy rumor. Get back to us when something happens with him. He's a forward whose best play comes in his own end doesnt surprise me the Bruins arent making moves to get the cap space to sign him.
Posted Sunday July 19, 2009, About: Did Bowman have hand in late qualifying offers?
Makes sense to me. If you fire Tallon and make Bowman GM you dont have to worry about Bowman messing up the qualifying offers again ... just kidding. At this point it doesnt matter if Bowman messed up or not he's GM and considering his father's position in the organization im sure Bowman will be GM for a while.
Posted Sunday July 12, 2009, About: Flyers saved from own stupidity?
If the Cap goes down 10 mil good bye NHL.
Posted Sunday June 28, 2009, About: Sens pass on Blackhawks trade
This trade makes plenty of sense the Sens wouldnt have to sign Havlat and would be able to give Barker more PP like he wants. And Heatley has less years left on his contract than Campbell does. Tallon would have made a great move if this had gone through.
Posted Friday June 26, 2009, About: Rangers in hunt for Heatley
Doesnt Redden have a no movement clause. This report is bs. Murray isnt going to give up Heatley without a top prospect or young player included in the deal. He isnt going to trade Heatley after he pays that 4 mil upfront so it looks like there is only one week left to make a deal for him until the trade deadline rolls around. The Senators would be dumb to take Gomez or Drury's horrible contracts back for Heatley anyway. They might as well play a disgruntled Heater who scores more points than either Ranger at the same price.
Posted Wednesday June 24, 2009, About: Bruins GM trying to move up in draft
Am I crazy to think that Kessel is worth the 5th pick almost straight up. Boston shouldnt have to throw in the 26th as well. Maybe a second or third rounder but not Kessel and the first. I think thats over-payment, unless the Kings are extorting a desperate Chiarelli because of the Cap-situation.
Posted Saturday June 20, 2009, About: Gustavsson OK with minors stint
Fleury developed from being thrown in the fire and he is just now becoming a reliable goaltender. Pogge needs to be handed the reins or shipped out while he still has value. He has toiled in the minors long enough. Goalies don't progress sitting on the bench or rotting in the minors. They need to be challenged by NHL shooters if they want to develop into an elite stopper.
