atlanta's offensive line is actually not as bad as every1 says. if baker and blalock can play to their ability then the left side of the line is good and the right side has plenty of experience

if detroit doesnt want him, atlanta can find a place for him

please no garland, mr. wren. push for CC and give him the Johan contract 8 yrs 150-160 million. they will have about 45 million coming off payroll so they can spend around 30 to 35 million. hampton, glavine, smoltz, and kotsay are all free agents. plus we already dropped tex's salary. with the other 15 million or so to spend, maybe a short term deal for a slugger like adam dunn or pat burrell. however if you go after those guys only a 2 or 3 year deal otherwise no chance to spend again until chipper retires
Posted Thursday July 24, 2008, About: Why Childress left Hawks for Greece
the hawks bashing on here is ridiculous. they played the celtics a whole heck of a lot better than the lakers and pistons. cleveland was slightly better than atl on the road. this is a very different team than from the 25 win seasons and its time for ignorant people to recognize this

get over it urban, want your mommy too? its a game and you(florida) sucked bad last year. tebow was sacked like 6 times, im pretty sure thats why you lost not because georgia got two unsportsmanlike calls
Posted Thursday July 24, 2008, About: Why Childress left Hawks for Greece
danny is right except for 10 to 15 games better, more like 5 maybe close to ten. the hawks need to let childress go though because next off season they would have approx. 20 million in salary cap space but if they tender childress then they have 5.5 million cap space because chill's new contract pays 14.5 million before taxes i believe. if they dont tender they can go out and get another top player to team with joe johnson.
Posted Saturday July 19, 2008, About: Red Sox to weigh Teixeira move
basically youkilis will be in any offer for texeira so tex would be replacing youk which would be a power improvement but not obp or avg
Posted Monday July 14, 2008, About: Boston still looking at Teixeira
as a braves fan though, this deal would be so amazing
Posted Monday July 14, 2008, About: Boston still looking at Teixeira
this trade would certainly not knock the braves out of the playoffs and would be much better than 2 comp. picks. youk hits for a far better average and hansen would instantly help the bullpen and neither would be gone after the year, braves could sign youk long term and chipper, he, and mcCann is a nice middle of the order. they could then look into jason bay or nady(as mentioned above). i'd offer a package of lillbridge(blocked by yunel escobar), brandon jones(guy from pirates takes his spot in left), and a good but not great pitching prospect
Posted Sunday July 13, 2008, About: Why Braves won't trade Teixeira
they at least get 2 first round picks if tex leaves which will likely happen the braves could be serious players in free agency. tex, smoltz, glavine, and hampton's contracts are done at the end of this year giving them around 40 million dollars less in payroll. they could get sabathia and the 2 first round picks, then they should look into acquiring either jason bay or xavier nady from the pirates if the price is right.
Posted Thursday July 10, 2008, About: Braves finding tough trade market
the braves need to trade for bay, with the package i suggested(lillbridge, brandon jones, and decent pitching pros.) then sign him 5 years between 50-55 million, take the 2 comp. picks for tex and sign sabathia with the extra cap room gained by hampton, tex, and glavine definitely gone.
Posted Wednesday July 09, 2008, About: Braves finding tough trade market
brandon jones, brent lillbridge, and a decent pitching prospect for jason bay. as far as every1 saying the braves need pitching, every team needs pitching in today's game and there is no pitcher you can get for a reasonable price. jason bay could replace tex in the lineup next year and we take our two first rounders. jason bay, jordan shafer, and jeff francouer(if he can find his old game) is a nice, young, talented outfield for next year. oh and for the guy that said braves need a closer, mike gonzalez is pitching amazing
Posted Wednesday July 09, 2008, About: Clippers shifting focus to Smith?
as a hawks fans im afraid that the clips will drive up the price for this guy for us because they are desperate because they dont want to lose baron davis and their playoff hopes. however, if you watched this guy in the hawks playoffs you knw he wont get the clips to the playoffs, but he can get the hawks there
Posted Tuesday July 08, 2008, About: Red Sox interested in Teixeira
Last Player we had up from the Atlanta Minor League Braves was RentaWreck...

how'd that work out?

BobBoston, get your facts straight: renteria went to boston from st. louis and then you guys traded him to the atl for basically coco crisp. nice try though. this is seriously pathetic how these red sox fans act, you all are way worse than yankess fans. i want to point out that you all have basically bought the last few world series sorta like the yankees used to. meanwhile teams like atl actually have to develop a farm system and plug the guys in instead of using them as trade bait. funny thing is your losing to the rays and their miniscule payroll despite the fact that you've had only one major injury(ortiz).

i hope he goes to the celtics because then they lose out on posey who was so important to them in the playoffs

if im the indians, i get LaPorta and a god pitching prospect and wave goodbye to C.C.
Posted Saturday July 05, 2008, About: Hawks' Smith leaves Philly minus offer
the memphis fan's deal is definitely something I'd look into if I were the Hawks, either lowry or crittenon + an expiring contract(to make the money work) for bibby.
Posted Friday July 04, 2008, About: Hawks' Smith leaves Philly minus offer
DJHeat, your an idiot. the Hawks season was not a fluke if anything it was underperforming. once josh smith realizes he cant shoot threes this team will become so much better. they will bring all their talent back and next year will have the cap space to sign a point guard or post scorer vaulting them up in the eastern conference
Posted Wednesday July 02, 2008, About: Lakers talking to Posey, Barry
well looks like LA learned their lesson in the finals. if they get posey they are the clear title favorites
Posted Wednesday July 02, 2008, About: No market for Dunn?
braves should go after him if there is no market for him.
Posted Wednesday July 02, 2008, About: Sixers contact Hawks free agents
sorry to burst the bubble sixers fans but to get josh smith you guys would have to trade iggy straight up or speights/young/williams(2 of the 3) plus a first round pick. josh is a restricted free agent and atlanta wont give him up without getting a ton back in a trade
