As far as choosing between Frankie and Tex, I would take Tex over Frankie and try to sign Fuentes and let Garland walk.
As an Angels fan, I am just frustrated that it seems like the organization can't produce anyone that can hit for power on the big league roster. I heard the hype about Jeff Mathis and his plus offense for a catcher when he was in the minors. Looks at him now. I also heard the hype about Dallas McPherson and how he was supposed to replace Troy Glaus. He is still in the minors, but now with the Marlins. I heard how great Kendry Morales was supposed to be and though you can argue he hasn't been given enough of a chance, when he was up a few years back you expected him to do good after all the hype over him. I just hope Brandon Wood doesn't end up to be another disappointment. His high strikeout rate in the minors suggests that he may end up nothing more than a Russell Branyon type of player at the big league level.
If Melky Cabrera played in the West Coast, he wouldn't have been raved about. He's just average right now, but I think he can improve. Pedroia on the other hand is a pretty solid player. I still think the Dodgers though probably have the best stack of young players with Ethier, Broxton and especially Kemp and Loney. If Kemp played for the Red Sox or Yankees, people would be calling him the next Ken Griffey Jr. with Broxton getting the attention that Joba does.
