He's a perfect fit; a very Wooden-esque coach, very cerebral. It would be his last stop, I think.

Well, my carpet is going to be installed so I must take my leave. In parting, I think that Texas A/M would make a fine addition to the SEC. It's a win-win for both. Send Vanderbilt to the Big East. They need schools and quite frankly, any school that has abolished the AD position and department probably should not swim the the sharks of the SEC. At least Vandy does make geographical sense for the Big East. Who know, maybe they and TCU could then become fierce rivals! The schools are so close together!!!!!

I'll go one better on the quirky factor - an NFL team in the playoffs with losing record, while a 10 game winner sits home! I mean, there should be a rule that if a division winner has a losing record, then the division is banned from post season play. And then to get a home playoff game too....WTF? Talk about rewarding mediocrity.

Note the 6/5 format! Smart people love quirkiness!

Hey, we could throw Rice into the Western Appalachian Southern Plains Conference too! I forgot about them! Hey, we've got a budding superconference going! Ditto for Stanford. Call the latter the TCU-Big East Outlier Factor!

West:
Stanford
Michigan
Rice
Tulane
Northwestern
Notre Dame

East:
Duke
Georgetown
Vanderbilt
Wake Forest
Virginia

Touche! Well played.

Further, the whole UT-TV thing smacks of "Lone Star Republic" sentimentalism. I mean, we are talking about a state that still has Texas Rangers, for God's sake. Talk about a vestigial appendage! How very maudlin.....and terribly elite.

Good call; Denver is a huge market with a rabid fanbase. CU, however, is not a typical midwestern school - its a betterl fit for the PAC-10 lifestyle.

I suggest you familarize yourself with the concept of "cannon fodder." Or....as long as the powers need undefeated seasons! Or, as long as the sky is blue works too.

Further, you do realise that TCU - TEXAS Christian University is now a member of the Big East. With this in mind, my Western Appalachian Southern Plains Conference was meant, tongue-in-cheek.

Please refer to quote number 15 your honor. I believe this clarifies any potential misunderstanding.

Many thanks; on rare occasion, I have my moments - they of course, mostly end in failure!

Of course, Notre Dame might not cotton the last appellation! They are still sore about the whole Martin Luther thing.

Vanderbilt - they belong in the ACC or Big East - not the SEC. This is a long overdue divorce. Move Auburn over to the East and plug LSU and T A/M yearly rivals and Florida / Arkansas the same. Besides, with Vandy, its like having the token geek on the squad for diversity's sake. Everyone knows its a farce, but yet......

Further, I think that Duke, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Tulane, and Wake Forest should just form their own conference anyways. Call it the W.A.S.P Conference, you know - Western Applalachian Southern Plains Conference or the We Are Smart People Conference. Or....go with the old old favorite - White Anglo Saxon Protestant Conference.

Truth be told, I am sick of the whole CFB thing; the agents, the coaches, the engorged sense of entitlement, the BCS, practically all of it....I really don't even watch much football anymore, let alone go to the games. I'd rather spend time with my wife! She is much more fun and no, she is not a hooker!

Maybe I'll post again sometime in the next 6 months, but for now, the window has closed. Enjoy yourselves.

Ok, for the record, UF was going to get better regardless of who coached them; the changing demographics in the US was going to make that happen, along with the implementation of the 85 scholarship cap rule. I refuse to take anything away from Spurrier, but heck, even Bear Bryant knew that. "Once they get a coach down there, its all over for the rest of us." Spurrier was the prime example of "perfect convergence."

Oh, and do remember, by his own admittance, he "quit recruiting" a few years prior to leaving. In short, he rested on his laurels and counted the days as well as the money.

Agreed and for the record, I am not a young'un at all; my son just graduated from GASP, FSU! No matter, all is well and FSU is a fine school. Eyes wide open, great summation..my point exactly.

Oh and for the record, as far as loyalty towards teams versus wives; you might want to rethink that; how many people do you know that have plain left their teams? Wives come and go, team loyalties are forever - don't believe me; start liking UF if you can!

And for the record, I didn't mind him leaving; it was the way he comported himself during the whole affair....he should have, and could have, handled it with a bit more dignity....and timing.

Again, I differ; we are talking about Daniel Snyder here; not the Rooneys. I mean, it was DANIEL SNYDER! The guy's got more bad pub than AIDS....
