I want Dallas to win because it takes out a "better" team (though that's hard to say when said team loses) but I just can't root for Seguin's success.

He's like Claude Lemieux, only with 0 hockey skills.
Posted Tuesday April 22, 2014, About: Rangers pegged as unsportsmanlike divers
If a stick grazes your leg, and you flail and fall, it should only be diving. No trip. Just a dive. That said, the spirit of the rule is that the tripping or whatever infraction occurred, you just added some spice to it to make the refs notice. So, you kind of have to call both. It's a dumb rule.
Posted Monday April 21, 2014, About: Columbus crowd rooting for Pens?
WAY too soon to tell. Consider that there was no hockey team in the state. So, most people root for the team closest to them (Pittsburgh.) When the Patriots joined the NFL, there were no Patriots fans, just NY Giants fans. Now, Giants fans are hard to come by (and are generally over the age of 70) in the Boston area.

Glad the Bruins didn't make that deal, as Pittsburgh got stomped with him, and we ended up signing him without giving up any assets this year. He's been... decent. Yeah, he had 30 goals, but a lot of those were garbage or empty net. But, he's been healthy, so he was better than keeping Horton.

2011 > 1993.
Posted Sunday April 20, 2014, About: Raptors GM apologizes for shouting Nets expletive
Considering the front offices I'm used to, with Tom Werner trying to lead chants out of rhythm, or Jacobs showing up for parades and getting booed, this guy brought what the crowd wanted.

I thought this was great.
Posted Sunday April 20, 2014, About: Bryce Harper benched for 'lack of hustle'
There's a difference between not killing yourself by running into a wall, and pouting because you grounded out.
Posted Sunday April 20, 2014, About: Bryce Harper benched for 'lack of hustle'
The dude didn't leave the box after hitting a grounder for a good two seconds, then half-jogged about halfway up the basepath before turning off to the bench. That's not how you play.

You could pretty much put anyone that spent their prime in Cincinnati on that list.
Cheap, yes. Typical? Get a grip.

I, too, thought this would be a Theo story.
Posted Friday April 18, 2014, About: Most important matchup in Wings-B's
"we weren't supposed to even make the playoffs this year..." That's what your coach keeps telling your players, but anyone with half a brain knows you went out and made some key signings to make a big push. You had some injury issues that nearly blew your chance, but once you got in, the regular season didn't matter. The Red Wings were the only team in the East I was worried about. They proved why tonight.

You may have smoked a bit too much weed this evening, sir.

Posted Thursday April 17, 2014, About: Puig, Mattingly mum on 'other stuff'
I once had a gig that required me to work with a few Feds. One of them said that the Cartel is the only organization he legitimately fears. They don't mess around.
Posted Tuesday April 15, 2014, About: Bruins can't count on shut-down D
The Wings have handled the Bruins very well. I fear this series more than I'd fear any other team in the East. The matchups have killed the Bruins this season. Unless you're a believer in "playoff experience" swinging those games, it's hard to assume the Bruins will roll them (but I hope they do, obviously.)

No. No. No. No. No. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.
Not really, agreed, not really, agreed.
That wasn't much fun.

Loved it, as did everyone (maybe even Sabres fans) (fan)
