Im not saying this as a Yankee fan, but as a baseball fan.... in the end I say he stays in the AL East but not with Toronto. Yes, in the end it will be Yankees vs. Red Sox for Halladay. The Red Sox and the Yankess realize he CAN pitch, not only in the hardest division in baseball, but the entire AL. The western teams may look but they really should realize he is an AL pitcher. I think the Yankess will quietly push for him, and I think if they do, it may involve Hughes and Kennedy, it makes sense for the Yankees because Halladay is better than Johan ANY day. Also, I think Jake Peavy WILL get traded at the deadline, possibly to a California team, my guess: Angels.... he will realize that the AL is far more exciting and better than the NL, plus no NL west team wants to give up their prospects anymore

I think that the people that think there should be a salary cap are just upset that the Yankees can get whoever they want, I mean let's be real, the Red Sox most likely will get Matt Holliday instead of the Yankees now. And one more point, the Yankees have such a high payroll because they sell the most merchandis, sell the most tickets and seats, and that leads to the huge amount of money which leads to the top FA.

And thats why they all ways have a team thet can win at least 80games a year, apposed to the "Braves" that made a sensless deal for Teixeira, a senseless deal for Hampton, and thought to make a 3rd sensless deal for Jake Peavy, but they fell out of the talks. Honestly, I live in New York and I can name more Marlins fans than Braves fan. I trully beleive you are a Marlins fan, and SOOOOOO FREAKIN WHAT if they have a huge fire sale every 4-5 years, they get TALENT in those deals, the kind of talent taht made thim finish ABOVE the Atlanta Braves. No, not really. The Red Sox aren't gonna be able to sign Mark Teixeira unless they release Mike Lowell or trade him, or trade Youkilis. The arent gonna get rid of Kevin so we can throw that out the window, and most teams thay are not goona be able to trade Mike Lowell because off his inconsistent season due to injury and if thet release him they would lose $12-13 million. They dont nessicarilly need Varitek, but he works so good with their pitching staff. I say they are gonna explore other options and trade for a guy like Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Variteks carrer with Boston was over when he was hitting just above .200 avg. at the All-star break and still made the ALL-Star team.
