Uh.... do you have the data to back that up? Because I read an article last year that said that if not for the reset and new points format, Stewart would have been champ 2 or 3 (I don't recall which) of JJs years...
The crew chief that has been caught cheating more times than Lance Armstrong - yet remains part of NASCAR's golden-boy-team. Remember last season when JJ & Chad were fined and docked points - then the "arbitrator" completely nullified EVERY BIT of the penalty as NASCAR looked the other way? The arbitrator that was, by the way, an old crony of Rick Hendrick's? Everybody will always love to hate JJ/Chad - not only because of their success - but also because of the perception of being allowed to cheat. If they've been caught that many times, an intelligent person has to ask how many times have they *not* been caught?
I give this a snowball's chance in H-E-double-hockey-stick of happening... Gruden was run out of LA by the late demented Al Davis... You want us to believe that Chucky doesn't harbor some strong hatred for that team? As Deion Sanders would say - "C'mon man!" Gruden has enough traction surrounding his name to land one of the *better* head coaching positions if he so chooses - why on earth would he even consider the perennially dysfunctional Raiders???
I LOL'd at this in particular, from Schwartz "...there's really no reason for people to believe (it was intentional.)" Yeah... Sure - no reason at all... Ask oh - I dunno... The rest of the league. The rest of the country. The rest of the NFL front office. Yup - he's just being picked on. Poor little Suh - lets all write songs about him now. Turd.
What - your leg doesn't defy the law of gravity and fall upward as you fall down? I'm shocked - shocked I tell you - that Schwartz - one of the bigger turds in the league - wouldn't have a **** chat with the incumbent mayor of Turdvill, Suh. Shocked.
I was about to defend the guy because I couldn't believe that his stats would show a middle-of-the-road QB... I was shocked to find out they are - every stat that matters is in the 14th-20th spot in the league - firmly in the middle of the pack. Everybody always tried to say Orton was a decent QB - that you don't need a great QB - just one that won't lose the game for you. Well, in this league, quite often you need a QB that can go out there and grab the win. Maybe Flacco isn't the guy. Nonetheless - if he goes UFA next year you can bet he's on the market for all of a few nanoseconds.
Hey I'm as worried about Manning's durability as anybody... And in Stanton, I do not trust... Not that he's great but I hope the Broncos go after McCoy as a backup.
For the record I don't see the Broncos doing better than 9-7 next year but in the AFC West, that might be good enough for a division. But as far as running a simple offense - you think that makes "them" (as in the team) dumb??? Really??? Never played football, did you? The coach (one who I'll admit I'm still not overly fond of) tailored the game to his QB - which at college or pro level you HAVE to do - you can't just swap a player in or out because he can't throw. That move certainly doesn't make the Broncos dumb.
Your comment that "Manning sucks outdoors" is beyond stupid. His winning percentage indoors, career: .703, outdoors, .650. Sure - it's lower but keep in mind EVERY outdoor game is an AWAY game - and EVERY QB has a lower away winning percentage. His OUTDOOR rating - 90.6. Yep - that's sucky alright. Grow a brain.
"dumb'er ville"??? Clever... In the last 2 years he's played, he has 26.5 sacks... Yep - he must be dumb alright. From websters dictionary: Dumb (adj): being of lower intellect - or being a Raiders fan.
The whole "Elway is jealous" angle really cracks me up... You *really* believe that a hall of fame QB (Elway) is running a mediocre (and that's being generous) QB out of town because he's *jealous*? How do you say that with a straight face? I mean - they're bringing in a a SURE THING future hall of famer - perhaps the greatest QB to have ever played the game. If Elway was the jealous type - you *really* think he'd bring in a superstar? Jesus I'm in bizzarro world.
On what planet does Tebow give the Broncos a better chance than Manning? Hey - I like Tebow's attitude - he has the heart you wish every player had... Unfortunately his skill doesn't even come close to matching his desire. And you saying Elway is jealous is beyond absurd. Two superbowl wins, superbowl mvp, hall of famer, all that - yeah... He's cowering I bet (sarcasm).
I agree that the Broncos are nothing more than leverage for PM - but the 49ers? Seriously?? They had a contender LAST year - and a QB that was performing well above average. Why on earth would they dole out the cash - and irritate the incumbent? Not to mention that Condon represents both PM and current 9er QB smith. I can't imagine a better way to lose a client than basically telling a team to hire someone guaranteed to put you on the bench. I still say it's Tennessee - where PM already has ties. I think the other visits are just smoke and mirrors.
I just had an epiphany.... Denver played a big part in making the runningback-by-committee so popular. Maybe they'll be the first to have a quarterback-by-committee. That'd keep defenses on their toes.
Wanting to have a viable exit strategy doesn't make him a QB hoarder (as in a Gruden). I think Elway just realizes the chances for success in fixing his ridiculously long, sidearm delivery are slim. You'd kill to have Tebow's desire and heart with the physical skill of a Rodgers but alas here we sit... I suspect the revolving door at QB will spin a few more years at Mile High.
