I'm glad the season is over. It flat sucked for the 88 as well as the majority of the fans. Racing was boring in most of the races. It's always good to have hope, JK ;)...but I doubt KB will win a Cup championship any time soon. The guy folds like a house of cards when the pressure really hits........

From what I understand, 50, it's all privately funded with Ed Roski leading the charge. Nothing has been put on a ballot and passed so that the local taxpayer is on the hook. I wouldn't vote for us funding a sports team and based on history, no one else in CA/Los Angeles area is either. Have to conclude that it's all privately funded.

Obviously a non-L.A. resident. Ever been to a SOLD out Lakers game? They're sold out 99%+ of the time. Do people get there late? Of course...ever driven L.A. traffic? It takes time to get from any point A to any point B. Dodgers consistently see over 3million fans per season, something that no other MLB team can brag about (except MAYBE the Yankees.) Football was played at the Coliseum...if you've been to the surrounding area, you might get an idea as to WHY people left early. The layout sucks..parking is a nightmare and the crime rate in the vicinity was awful back then. Move NFL to a NICE stadium with a higher comfort level, and the fans will be there. I love when people bash LA with no substance behind other than personal opinion and zero facts. LA residents are just as fanatical as other cities. I also see stadiums empty out 'early' in every city that has a sports team. Give the LA hate a rest already....

I didn't see the race...although it is Dvr'd..so I'll have to review it. Oil on the tires is more than enough to spin him out. He's not the greatest driver in the world, but the guy can wheel a car. Oil is going to spin ANYONE out...including that Busch idiot and Stewart.......

As to restriction, we all touched upon this before...use small size injectors..hand them out before the race...its all doable from an electronics POV............(along with the programed P/ECMs. My car pulls 30hp between stock programming and customized programming with NO other changes. (This is AT the dyno and dyno tested..no B.S. stuff)

What about when they spin around and are going backwards?? About some vents underneath that OPEN if the car is backwards..letting the air escape rather than catch it and act as a sail to flip the car? Seems like an easy design to implement. I still think the spoiler is the culprit as previously mentioned......

This makes the most sense to me. The flaps theoretically will catch air, pushing DOWN on the roof..but that rear spoiler in the air at the angle NASCAR dictates seems to be the culprit to me. Stick the car in a windtunnel BACKWARDS and see how the air moves over the car. I"m guessing that the air is deflected enough so that the roofflaps aren't even catching any air to help the car stay on the ground........

I'm lost. You could walk in and BUY a Superbird, etc in a showroom. Now why were they 'banished'? NASCAR didn't like the speeds they were capable of and the fact that the competition couldn't touch them. Nothing more.

Gotta agree here. He was a Chevy guy..BUT most drivers (and DE probably included) would go/drive whatever was sent their way. I'm sure GM practically GAVE Earnhardt the dealerships. Had Earnhardt driven a Ford in his heyday, I'm sure he'd have owned Ford dealerships as well. I know Kasey Kahne stated in front of me he'd drive whatever was offered to him at the right price. BUSINESS. Plain and simple.
