The Big 10 makes their own league schedule, blame them - not the NCAA. ...and capitalize God!

Within the 3-way tie, OSU was 1-1, Wisky was 1-1 and Sparty was 1-0. IMO - Michigan State earned the Sugar Bowl, not OSU.

The folks that put 'em in that game was the Big 10. According to league by-laws in the event of 3-way ties, the highest rated BCS team goes to the BCS bowl... ...and about 30 minutes ago they vacated their 12 wins and along with their Sugar Bowl victory.

Since the Huskers are in the Legends Division I guess my predicition of them not winning the Leaders Divsion is money.

Nebraska is not winning the Leader division with an at best conference record of 5-3, let alone the Big Ten title. That game will be between Wisconsin and Michigan State.

Every Big 10 team they play (with the possible exception of the Gophers) has enough talent to stuff the box and stop the run. So... ...Tyler Martinez will be force to pass and read progressions... ...he will tuck the ball too early... ...he will get hit often and hit hard... ...he will wear out early... ....and with week after week of limited familiarity with league opponents - Nebraska will lose games.

Nebraska is too uncertain at QB and too unfamiliar with league foes. Michigan State will win the Legends division.
One man's asshole is another man's hero.

By the consensus of most, the highest respected coach in men's college basketball today is Mike Krzyzewski and the coach he respects the most is... ...Bobby Knight.

Frog - To suggest that one would last only a year in England would be a bullet point on the resume of most uber-qualified candidates for any job.

It is government sponsored and hence publically funded in Europe. That is not the case in the USA.

The WNBA losses money.

It is kept afloat by supplemental funds from the NBA (which now finds itself in the red). In most cities, the season ticket sales for the NBA franchise are tied to the mandatory purchase of WNBA tickets. The size of the compliance costs to operate an WNBA team (which are supplemented as well by the city's NBA franchise) make it a financial impossible for shorter layoff and more games.

Look at the college game where gender equality and fairness due to legislation, reign supreme. Men's basketball provides the major funding for all sports at FCS schools. It is quite common for these programs to show profits - enough profit to support the school's entire arcade of men and women's sports.

There are over 340 Division I women's basketball teams and less than 3% generate enough revenue to show a profit. In over 97% of these schools, the entire manifold of women's sports do not financially support themselves and would have been dropped (due to financial considerations) years ago if not for Title IX legislation. Without such a federal mandate on the professional level, how would creating a pro league alter this reality?

The NBA works (barely!) because it houses the best basketball players in the world. The WNBA has no such claim, nor ever will. The harsh reality is that women's basketball (collegiate and professional) is not financially supported by the American sports dollar.

Did she tell you to post that? I thought you went shopping? Anyone who would proudly claim they must go shopping (for what would have amounted to 11 hours) with their first lassie in order to weasel out of a TD, is in no position to draw inferences from others posts. :)

How about some consideration for Dick Groat?

National Player of the Year, 2 time All-American and National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Member. In addition, he was the Piston's #1 draft pick (3rd overall); left the NBA for baseball where he was, NL MVP, 8 time All Star, 2 time World Series Champion.

That is his #10 that hangs from the rafters of Careron Indoor. His 48 point outburst against UNC is still the most ever scored against them by any one player. He is the first face of Duke Basketball.

Not to mention that Groat's Disease is named after him!
Posted Monday March 21, 2011, About: The Big East is an overrated piece of crap.
I agree with you that the national perception is that the ACC is #5 and Big East #6. However this is not the case if one reviews the official BCS criteria. Their rolling 4-year evaluation scores the ACC last.

What about Mark Spitz? He was 22 when he retired.
