When I first saw it I did not like it. I saw it a second time and warmed up to the story. The movie takes time to develop and you have to give it the chance to do it.

One of the reasons Miguel Cabrera is so amazing in the game today is the fact he has relatively low strikeout numbers year to year. Only once has he ever been over 127 strikeouts and that was in his first full year with Miami when he Ked 148 times. When he won the Triple Crown last year he only Ked 98 times. And in the two years before that he had strikeout totals of 95 and 89 respectively.

unfortunately that appears to be a thing of the past. Players just are not as concrned with not striking out as much as they used as long as their power numbes are up.
Hell, when Mickey "K"ed 120, 126 & 125 times from '58 thru '60 that was big time news. Today that is more than accepable especially when you consder he also had the following year to year stats through those same respective years, 1958: .304 with 129 walks and 42 HRs; 1959: .285 BA with 93 walks and 31 Hrs & 1960: .275 BA with 111 walks and 40 Hrs.

Last I noticed when I looked at the standings this AM, the Yanks were only two behind in the loss column. So... if, their pitching can keep them in games and their so-called ace can pitch like an ace ... and CC was topping out in his last games at around 94 - 95 mph ... and if Pineda comes back and can give them what he is doing so far in rehab ... their hitters keep on doing just enough, and if Cashman can wrangle a trade or two ... then who knows what can happen. I know, thats a lot of "ifs" but until its offically over (or at the minimum they start falling behind by more than six or seven games in the loss column and it is late September) I don't think anyone can say the "Yanks have no chance". Besides, anyone think the Red Sox were gonna be where they are right now? Which, as I said earlier in this post is only two games ahead of the Yanks in the loss column.
Personally, Uke going on the DL until late Septemberr and the fact that I am not sure Arod will even take the field this year (even if he doesn't get suspended for drug use) are blessings in disguise.
