Posted Friday September 18, 2009, About: Argentina to replace Maradona?
No way it happens, Argentina generally don't sack their coaches, and its way too late to change coaches; 3 weeks before the final qualification matches. I can see somebody coming in as a number 2, but nobody to replace maradonna. Plus, if he does pull off qualification, how could someone justify his sacking?

There is definitely more to this story than what catches the eye. You usually don't see such behavior to a former team, and something must of really struck a cord. By no means am i condoning his words or actions, but we should wait and see if any more news comes out of either camp.

although pre contract is not binding, it does squarely represent the argument that the team has meddled with a transfer. Chelsea having a pre- contract influenced the player to leave lens.

he's one of the reasons young talents shouldn't jump to go to huge clubs, if you have a rough season, you become discarded and discredited

i disagree, i think that requiring 55% of your players be domestic makes sense, because the talent pools will rise and every team will be forced to provide the proper services to their employees
Posted Monday August 31, 2009, About: Juve still eyeing Grosso?
i think its differant for them because the league isn't as high quality. Brazilians, argentinians, and any country outside of Europe, tend to send their players to improve quality. I want more americans in europe, but they have to go to places where they can play... not just got to spain or england
Posted Monday August 31, 2009, About: Juve still eyeing Grosso?
the english do the same, but they have very few times been a threat. I feel that england is great for club football, but on a national level they are inferior because the top players come from other countries. The league has to become more english not have 70% come from other countries

i completely agree, i find that the italians and the Germans keep the best players in the domestic league (except Ballack) and thats why you always have to worry about them in competitions like euros and wc

I truly do hope that this new ruling goes through. teams that are built on debt; like Liverpool, Man u, and Real will finally have to face the music. Teams like Ajax, Barca, Juve, Bayern, and Lyon will finally get the credit they deserve.

Barcelona is given credit these days, but not really until 06 were they feared.
Juve is interesting because we all know how great they were before Calciopoli
Bayern has 4 titles and at the end of the 90's and until 03 were completely feared
Ajax 3 or 4 titles, plus they had some great teams in the mid 90's under van Gaal
Lyon has never won, and never made it past the quarters, but they have had absolutely great players run through them and im curious to see how they would do if they didn't have to sell always.

i meant as a current respected league that offers competition and required hardening! ld has the rep of a female dog (used to avoid censorship), so to grow balls, he has to go to the fire.

just stay away from napoli, even the most beautiful women smell like rats
Posted Friday August 28, 2009, About: Donovan leaving Galaxy for Europe?
the street only works one way... Uefa want to help only the refs, not the teams. They help on calls the ref does not see or make, but can't over turn decisions.

Think of it this way, the now infamous Barca/ Chelsea game, there was a foul in the area that was given outside the box: should uefa change that location and replay a penalty?

Uefa shouldn't make any calls post match beyond suspensions.

love the east block comment

I completely agree about italy, but at the same time you want angry mobbish crowds simply because its something that needs to be overcome. SA2010 isn't gonna be all pretty support if you play Holland, Germany, Brazil, or SA. the dutch and Germans are known to take over cities during these game.

BM didn't screw him, they simply believed in the terms of a loan contract whereas the ItAIS think they can do what they want....

completely off the subject..... but one of the reasons i left america was simply because of the beautiful women.

LD is unique player for me, if he wants to play in Europe than it should be for a powerhouse team in Europe. From a media standpoint, How can the "face" of US soccer be on the 14th best team in Italy? Now he doesn't have to play in England or Spain, but he needs to play for a big team with history.

Lyon and OM are the 2 teams in France worthy of that status, but they don't seem to have the funds, and/or the interest

Germany is complicated and i think he should stay far away for his personal sanity

Holland... it just keeps getting worse

However, there are 3 leagues that i think would be very good for him that have beautiful standards and aren't comedy teams. If LD were to play he should go to these teams

Portugal: Porto and Sporting always seem to be in the CL and in the latter stages
Russia: CSKA and Zenit are teams that are respected and compete in high regards
Turkey: Gala, Fener, and Besijktas all play good football and have very high standards of play

seems like a desperate attempt to me. i mean i have never been an ld fan, but france and soon italy is a drop compared to the bl. i know he has his demons, so why doesn't he just finish in the states?
Posted Thursday August 27, 2009, About: United, Bayern linked to Robben
theres one problem to your theory.... ur's is based on logic and since when has uefa been practical?!?!?
Posted Thursday August 27, 2009, About: United, Bayern linked to Robben
I see this being a total gamble for a Bayern, but one that is completely necessary. Bayern know they will lose Ribery if they dont make it to the semi finals of the Cl, also Bayern know they will need to replace him with someone else with extreme quality, this is where Robben comes into oplay. By making this deal now, Van Gaal has a chance to create a great team that can win instantly. The only problem is that Robben gets hurt often, and 25 mil will be robbery if his legs get messed up.

my starting lineup:

rensing
lahm, badstuber, vb, braafheid,
ribery, tymo, robben
olic
klose, gomes
Posted Friday August 14, 2009, About: Nedved headed to MLS?
I'm not that happy with this rumor. I suppose that he could help a team out (pending where he signs), but one of his complaints in italy was all the traveling the teams had to go through. The accomidations in MLS haven't always been the greatest, plus i think MLS teams travel the second most in the world! He definitely was great back in the day, but i don't know how much he could contribute to a team and to the MLS brand.

Besides true football fans, how many people actually remember Nedved?
