Anyone remember what happened to Dusty Bakers kid during that baseball game. It was kind of cute now but it almost changed the outcome of the game and nearly got the boy hurt. Let's put some kind of age limit on it. Would you want a 300 pound defensive lineman running over a child? Let us use some common sense here, I see adults get hurt on the sidelines what chance would a child have.

We could not tell how great of college football player he was due to injuries. Does the name Keith Byers ring a bell. Same thing happen with Keith his last years in college was spent with a broken foot but look at his NFL career. Taking Beanie at 5 is stupid, I agree but I also believe he is the best NFL style back available via the draft. I would not take him any higher than 15th. But I agree the defense is more important now.

Remember the last championship game when Beanie outran the entire LSU defense (but maybe the LSU defense was not that fast after all). He's plenty fast but his stiff-arm will make the difference at the next level. He can even jump over defenders in college.
Posted Friday February 13, 2009, About: Woody Hayes' nude interviews?
This is the same Woody that was known to pay the rest of the scholarship money for the African-American athletes that at that time could not receive a full scholarship. This money came out of his own pocket. For every bad or offensive story about Woody there is good story. An ex-player once said Woody isn't prejudiced he treated us all like dirt.

Just some information reported in USA Today 8/18/06

OSU's athletic department revenue 101.5 million for fiscal year
OSU's football and mens BB revenue 47.6 million

OSU's football spent 8.6 million
OSU's football revenue 35.9 million

OSU's MBB spent 2.8 million
OSU's MBB revenue 11.7 million

As you can see if you combine the football and mens basketball surplus you would have 36.2 million. This pays for the other 34 sports in the athletic department that can't pay for themselves. This was based on 2006 fiscal year and this year will be different. I buy any company that would provide the kind of returns the football and MBB program generates.

Please get off you mom's computer its time for you to get on the school bus. First of all does Kansas even have a football program? Let's take a look at Kansas's athletic departments financial stability (mostly basketball I quess). Only a small handfull of football programs even pay for themselves. The OSU football program makes enough money to pay for the other non-profitting sports that have scholorships. This article did not say that the football program lost money it said the athletic department did.

These two will be great players and hopefully stay healthy and have great college careers. Five star recruits are great but what about a couple of three stars like 1st string All-American Malcolm Jenkins cornerback for tOSU (projected as high as 5th overall in the NFL draft ) and James Laurinautis linebacker for tOSU (three time All-American). My point is don't overlook the kids with "five star" hearts that want to excel at the next level. This is meant to be nothing but a simple comment. Best wishes for the two recruits and the schools they are looking at.

Your team had how many players get in trouble with the law this year? Too bad the team doesn't have the moral your coach has. By the way how many of them was kicked off the team by Joe Pa? Tough love just like Bobby Bowden

USC's defense is the best in the country period. PSU did not score nearly as many points against Ohio state that USC did. I know OSU did not have Beanie in that game but still. PSU will score no more that 20 points if they are lucky. Believe me I have seen them both beat my Buckeyes. I would much rather see OSU in a rematch against PSU than to play USC again.

Good luck PSU

We didn't lose 4 games this year did we. We stunk less than LSU which was last year NC
Posted Sunday December 07, 2008, About: Notre Dame AD sets Weis' goal
Could someone direct me to a website that puts Notre Dame up there with Stanford, Duke or Northwestern please? If I am not mistaken NW has 9 wins with a higher academic standard than ND. I am not knocking ND academic standard but that is not the reason they are down. I thought the only standard at ND was to be a catholic and know how to drink like Jimmy Clausen.
Posted Thursday December 04, 2008, About: Why Notre Dame kept Weis
I would like to make an analogy with Notre Dame and Ohio State...PLEASE hear me out. First Ohio State had John Cooper which had two problems 1) he could not beat Michigan and 2) he could not win a bowl game but had a good record otherwise...John was fired. Two years later Jim Tressell took that team with juniors and seniors from John's recruiting and won a national championship. I still praise John for his recruiting because without it we would not have the 2002 NC. Nor could John have won that championship.

The first two years for Charlie what did he have? He had Ty's recruits and went to two BCS bowl games. What has he done lately after he starting bringing in his recruits...9 and 15. The big difference between Jim and Charlie (besides 100lbs and that is being kind) is Jim can also coach. Charlie can recruit but can't coach yet and hasn't proven to me he can coach pre-NFL (young college kids) talent.

Moral of the story recruiting is only half the equation...the other half is coaching.

Clearly two high profile programs going in different directions. Thanks for bearing with me.

If you know so much more about Michigan than Michigan fans then tell me the last time Michigan won a National Championship. It was back in 1997 and they have been ranked in the top five several times since, just like Navy (ha ha)...And Michigan was ranked #2 heading into the last game before getting beat by #1 Ohio State in 2006, just like Notre Lame (ha ha).

Spend more time educating yourself about college football. By the way I am a buckeye fan 24/7 and don't spend much time defending Michigan but when someone compares Michigan to Notre Dame or Navy because of one season that is an insult to all Big Ten fans.
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: Rodriguez should keep eye on Weis
Hmmm....Lets see...Lloyd Carr had enough talent in 2006 to come to Columbus the last game of the season ranked #2 to play #1 ranked Ohio State. You call that suspect recruiting? Rich Rod needs to uderstand he needed to make his change gradually and not overnight. The only blame you can put on Lloyd is his inability to beat Jim Tressel. Hmmm lets see I believe Lloyd has a national Championship and Rich Rod has how many? Too much finger pointing is not good at a program like Michigan.

What happens if the Cavs win a championship before then and LeBron stays? There's no guarantee here except LeBron wants to play on a team capable of winning the championship.

From the newspaper that I read this morning. Oh I forgot you UM fans can't read the newpaper. Sorry annarbortreecity.
Posted Friday November 21, 2008, About: Michigan, Ohio State sparring for recruits
Congrats to UM basketball last night for beating #4 UCLA. That will go a long way for your basketball program.
Posted Friday November 21, 2008, About: Michigan, Ohio State sparring for recruits
OSU grads are just as successful as UM's. Our medical program ranks with the best of them. by the way we have to be able to count to 10 because we will end our regular season with 10 wins, on the other hand UM grads only have to count to 9 which will be the number of losses they end up with. Sorry it's the truth.

Rich Rod has done something Brian Ellerbe and Tommy Amaker have not been able to do...Make Michigan a basketball school.

Fear the Beanie.

Not all gator fans are clueless idiots... just some of them. You know what I'm talking about.
Posted Wednesday November 19, 2008, About: Why Beanie Wells will jump to NFL
No doubt Beanie is the one back with speed and strength plus an NFL stiff-arm. And now he's heathy enough to jump over defenders. It would make sense for him to go to the NFL. But I said last year there was no way James Laurinautis or Malcolm Jenkins was coming back. Or Marcus Freeman for that matter, James was probably a top five pick as well and look at the year Jenkins and Freeman are having. By the way we'll have him for at least one more bowl game after Michigan.

Go Beanie, we love you either way you decide.

I know this is college basketball here, but consider this...what if Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel would have did the same thing to Terrell Pryor? It seems there is something more to this than we see.
