The problem with players coming to Tennessee, is that they are compaired to other players. Any quarterback who comes to Knoxville will be compaired to Peyton Manning or Tee Martin. Any running back will be compaired to Reggie Cobb or Jamal Lewis. I grew up near Knoxville, I know how the fans are there. They are still crying because Peyton didn't win the Heisman in 1997. Maybe if he beat the Gators, he would have one it. Casey Clausen beat Florida twice. But, Tennessee fans hate him. That's because he's not Mr. Manning. I respect Florida. When they don't play Tennessee, I root for them. SEC football is the best in the country. Since the SEC moved to 12 teams in 1992, it has won 7 National Championships. No conference can compare to that. Miami, sucks. They had a few good years in the early 2000's, but they haven't done anything since they joined the ACC. Lane Kiffin can recruit, and he does it well. There is nothing wrong with talking a little smack. Spurrier does it all the time. And coaching Division III football would be better than coaching the Raiders. Oakland is the laughing stock of the NFL. They have a worse record than the Lions over the past 7 years. Al Davis needs to realize that it is NOT 1980 anymore. Bryce Brown is coming to a school that needs him right away. He could start as a freshman at UT. We need someone for our bad quarterbacks to hand the ball to. Florida will beat us pretty good. But, you never know. Florida should have beat us in 1998 and they didn't. So everyone can keep talking all the trash they want. But, it is those kids that will settle it all in fall.

Is there anyone in the NFL that played at South Carolina, that actually helps his team? The Gamecocks aren't even the best program in their state. If you wanna play in the NFL, you go to Southern Cal, Ohio State, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida or Oklahoma. You don't go to Columbia, SC. Because then you will be pumping gas. The truth hurts.

The truth hurts.... How many players from the University of South Carolina are key players in the NFL? I can't think of one. Troy Williamson maybe. But he hasn't lived up to his billing. South Carolina isn't even the best program in the state. That's Clemson. As much as I hate to say that, because I'm a SEC guy. But South Carolina is always happy going 6-6 and 7-6. You wanna play in the NFL. Go to Southern Cal, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Ohio State & Oklahoma. NOT South Carolina.

at least Wyoming is a Division 1-A School... But it's all good. Florida will win the National Championship this year. And my poster of Peyton is his face glued over Hiedi Klum's body. Watch for the upset this weekend. Oky State always plays OU tough. If Oky State wins that game, Texas Tech goes to the Big XII Championship. Remember anything is possible. I root for the Gators when they don't play Tennessee. It's an SEC thing. So go Gators and Vols.

I agree with you on some points. I love the Vols and even though they are 4-7, I still love them. Installing a new offense takes time. They really don't have the personel to run the spread. Unless they put Berry or Jones at QB. Giving the ball to Foster fumbles to much. Hardesty only averages 3.7 yards a carry. More Creer is my choice. I don't know if Oku would be a good fit. All I know is recruits are bolting. They need to hire someone fast. The season ends on Saturday. Hire Kiffin and get it over with.

The spread is what Clawson tried to install this year. But you can't use it with a chicken leg QB like Crompton who can't run. Tennessee has always been good throwing the ball. We have great WRs. We just need a QB who can make the throws.

Yes, and I have nothing against the Gators. I think they will win the National Championship again this year. I played one game in the Swamp in college. We lost 40-19, but it was a fun expierence. So, good luck to the Gators. Just as long as a Big XII school doesn't win it.

I don't think Oregon State has a hot seat. They where one of the worse programs in college football, and Riley turned it around. Sure Erickson was the coach for a few years, but he did all that with Riley's players. If (And that is a big "IF") the Beavers win out, they are going to the Rose Bowl. They have beaten USC 2 out of the past three years. No one else can say that? Mike Riley wins with little tallent on his team. Heck his starting tailback is a 5-6 freshman who rolled up 186 yards on the USC defense. Mike Riley went to Alabama and played under Bear. I think he would be the perfect fit.

Mike Leach will stay at Tech. Butch Davis and Brian Kelly have both said they are happy where they are. Muschamp just got named the future head coach at Texas. Gary Patterson will most likely go to Kansas State. Why would he go to KSU you ask? He played there. He's from Kansas.

And EVERY programs cheats some, and I mean EVERY school. Players get paid a little extra sometimes & grades get changed. Most just don't get caught. So to call Tennessee cheaters might be accurate, but we have never been on probation in football like Florida was in 1990-91.

Bob Stoops came to a OU programs which didn't have a winning season from 1994-1998. Including 3-8 in 1996, 4-8 in 1997 and 5-6 in 1998. They lost 69-7 to Nebraska in 1997. Bob Stoops turned them around in two years.

And you keep saying how big Tennessee's stadium is. Yes it's big, but that makes no difference. I've been to a lot of different stadiums. I played college football from 1996-2000 at Ball State. I played at Purdue, Wisconsin, Florida and Kansas State. During my medical redshirt in 1998, I worked at Tennessee's football office. So I know how loud Neyland can be. But size doesn't mean anything. The loudest stadium in the country is Autzen Stadium at the University of Oregon and it seats only 54,000. I grew up in the shadow of that stadium and that University. My mom worked there for 20 years. It is no longer a football only school. Bruce Pearl has made the basketball team there an elite program. We get 19,000-23,000 people at each basketball game.

Tennessee needs a coach that will excite the fans and the media. The sportswriters in Knoxville are a joke. Tennessee might suprise some people next season. I told my friends last year that Tennessee would be down this year. We lost our QB, LB, and Cutliffe. Putting in a new offense takes time, just look at Michigan.

Tennessee should hire Lane Kiffin.

I didn't realize that the University of Tennessee was such a marque job. Why would Jon Gruden leave his dream for Tennessee? Maybe Tennessee can get Pete Carroll to leave USC, or maybe Mack Brown from Texas. Spurrier, Leach, Brewster, Davis and Gruden are not coming to Knoxville.

Jim McMahon helped BYU win games. Thats all they wanted from him was for him to play football. Soon as he couldn't play football anymore, they kicked him out of school. Notre Dame didn't exclude Rocket Ismail beause he isn't Catholic. Mormons want to be respected, this stuff doesn't help.
