Having been a part-time resident of the beautiful state of Colorado, I was an ardent Rockies fan during the late 90's through 2003. The penurious ways of ownership and the abject stupidity of management in doling out outrageous contracts to Nagel and Hampton, and, yes, to Helton (as to length) have done a disservice to the loyal fans of the state, who were on the precipice of endearment to the team "Bronco" style. The State, the City of Denver and environs, and the fans deserve so much more; however, the near miracle of 07 was likely all that will be enjoyed, given the piecemeal dismantlement taking place.

Teix couldn't care less, in the final analysis, as to where Tek ends up and for how long. He is not going to Boston under any set of circumstances. He still remembers what happened in the 99 draft and the disingenuous actions of the then Bosox management. The names may have changed, but not the manner in which the Red Sox deals with its personnel.

There is enough in the way of commentary from NY to suggest that if they don't get Teixiera the Yankees will go for Manny. Girardi's comments last evening at Torre's Safe At Home affair were surprising and certainly indicated that Manny, as a potential HOF, was welcome. Mattingly's absolutely glowing account of Manny in all respects did not fall on deaf ears in Yankeeland. ....If he was more than OK in Dodgertown for two old Yankees, why shouldn't he play in NY? If no Tex, Manny goes back to his roots.

Theo and his gang may well regret the events of last July when Manny returns in Pinstripes and simply shreds Boston pitching over and over and over. Manny will perform against Boston like it's August and September in LA.

Don't be surprised if Manny is decked out in pinstripes next year. Arod will put up numbers beyond belief with his buddy protecting him. Manny will ultimately be adored it the City of his roots. Manny will win over the team, management and the fans just like he has with the Yankee contingency in LA...St. Joe, Donnie Baseball and Bowa (who probably will return to NY to give Cano the occasional kick that he needs). The incipient cause of Manny in July when it all started) was that twit, John Henry, stated he was personally offended by Manny's comments about the status of management's position on the exercise of his options. Boston treats its ex and soon to be ex-stars shabbily..ask Mo V, Clemens, Pedro and Nomar.

He has only himself to blame for the snub. Were he not delusional, his conduct would not have been insulting to baseball. Perhaps he "misremembered". The Torre snub is a different story and indeed inexcusable. I should add that I am not a Torre fan but the Yankees acted without class.

With a new stadium and an under-producing array of performers, Steinee no doubt will pony up big $$$$ for (i) a pitcher (probably Burnett if he chooses, (ii) Texeira... the $$$ will be so overwhelming that he will not refuse tho he does like the Angels for a variey of reasons, and (iii) the ManRam....tho most would believe this to be unlikely for the obviious reasons. The Dodgers simply will not pay, but when all is said and done, the Yankees will. ...assuming Tex opts not to come...Then Boros will take the Steinee $$$ for Manny probably against the wishes of Cashman who could well be gone if he objects too vehemently. Manny is good buddies with A-Rat and could well provide him with the same support he gave Ortiz. We will see, but plainly Steinee will spend big $$$$$ to open the new park follwing the first seaonin 14 that the Bombers do not play in October.

The Yankees will NOT add Dunn. Steinee's message is directed to Boros to tell the ManRam that he can trade in his Dredlocks for Pinstripes. You think not? Don't bet against it!!! He could care less if his conduct is disruptive so long as it benefits him. Were he to be faced with the question of whether (i) his finger (on the left hand) suffers a surface cut, or (ii) you perish (die, that is), you die. He has the maturity level of a twelve year old, if that.
