UGA along with a lot of other schools would love to have him. This is a normal part of the recruiting process. At Georgia he would play as a freshman since we rotate players so much. Also, he would have a good chance at going pro (think Georgia has 3rd most players in the NFL right now).

Buckeyes,

hang tough. Pryor will bring you back either next year or the year after. Get to a BCS bowl game and win it and the respect will be back. You should get your shot at the #2 SEC team this year and that will be the end of this non-sense if you win.

Stevedungan,

go protest Notre Dame then. Washington fans can and should expect better results. ND was years ago...grow up and get over yourself and your conspiracy theories. Fact is he is hired to win football games and to grow good citizens at the same time. One without the other is like a P&J sandwich without Peanut Butter. He is all jelly ... and he won't be sticking around for long at UDub.

I heard the same thing about Vince Young, Matt Leinert, Ryan Leaf, Danny Wuerffel, Rex Grossman, Joey Harrington, and on and on for the last 30 years. He is great at the college level - enjoy him while he is there but don't expect him to be a star in the pros. He will most likely be below average to a bust.

NFL quarterbacks that are successful seem to come from Pac10 and Big10 schools. Some have come from Big12 which have the best throwers this year. SEC is a running conference not known for producing consistently good QBs (except for the Mannings). If I am a pro scout I am usually - not always - but usually going to look at the Pac10 because they throw so much with those 4 WR sets. Running QBs that win or compete for the Heisman have performed poorly in the NFL. SEC has great RBs, D-Line, and LBs. Big10 has great lineman, LBers. Pac10 has traditionally been very strong in OL, QBs, WRs. That is my impression and it changes from time to time but overall I think it is pretty accurate over time (decades). Again, the Pac usually has the greatest depth and talent at QB but this YEAR it looks like the Big12.

Tebow is another Eric Crouch, Danny Wuerffel, Jason...whatever his name was. All great people and class acts (this coming from a DAWG fan nonetheless) but I call it as I see it. NFL = No spread, no wishbone baby!

Sir Robin,

I think UT showed that they have some issues this year with a new OC and a QB who has not found his groove (if he has one). The defense is not as good as advertised. Was anyone surprised Florida laid the wood? UT will lose another 3 to 4 this year....at least. See Auburn next week Georgia, SCeast, Vanderbilt and maybe even UK. Phil Fulmer will be bought out and asked to retire nicely (see Lloyd Carr aka Meechigan). I would say that of the 5 remaining good teams in the SEC only 3 will emerge as really great teams. Auburn could still be one of those if they get their offense going. LSU has now found a QB. Georgia's offensive line needs to grow up quickly. Florida still needs to find a consistent RB. Alabama needs to play someone (Arkansas is horrible and Clemson was vastly overrated). Next week Alabama and Georgia...one of these teams is a pretender and we will find out who it is. Auburn and UT - if Auburn is really as good as they looked last night in a close loss to LSU then they will spank UT otherwise I am saying pretender. LSU at Florida - one of these teams could be overrated we will find out when they play. So this should be fun - Gameday coming to Athens, GA next week to expose the pretender.

Big Boys = NFL, Little Boys = NCAAF. I love college footballs passion and traditions, however their is no comparison between the pros and college. I will not go into the legions of college Heisman winners and superstars that were busts in college because the list would go on forever. Just enjoy the college game for what it is and remember that USC was better with Reggie Bush and Matt Leinert a few years back and couldn't beat Texas in home setting. If you think that team could beat the pros look how well these guys are doing now - average to bust at best. How's Vince doing? Now throw on top of this 25-35 year old men who are physically superior on the O and D lines and they would absolutely crush any team in college. Tim Tebow will be a bust in the NFL just like David Greene was (won more college games then anyone in the history of the NCAA DivI). Nuff said...

LA Boy,

you have some good points that I agree with. I think the most disappointing thing is that no one can really guage just how good USC is since OSU is obviously struggling to beat Toledos and Ohios of the Mac world. Also, Virginia got smoked by Connecticutt but you don't see UC in the top 10 jumping everyone do you? So you have no other teams in the top 25 in the entire conference now... Not your fault but this is reminiscent of when Texas was well tested and pulled out the W against you in the championship. Whoever wins the Big12 and SEC will be battle tested and ready to lay the wood against you in the NC game and I think they have a coin flips chance to beat you. USC is great and I can admit it so we will have to play the year out and see what happens. This time don't slip up against a Stanford because the Big12 and SEC fans want a piece of you.

Who cares about USC...the real championship this year is the SEC championship and the Big12 championship. I think USC is great but there are probably 6 or 7 teams that would beat USC from either of these conferences. It is not USCs fault that OSU turned out to be overrated and that the competition is not stiff in the Pac10. The winner of the Big12 or SEC that makes it to the NC game to face them will be better tested and ready. It will be another Texas-USC type of a matchup and a lot of fun. Each of the SEC teams has a weakness from what I've seen so far. I have not been able to see the Big12 games so I cannot comment on them yet. I will know a lot more after the Red River shootout.

So when UGA goes to ASU we can expect a Pac10 officiating crew? These guys sound pretty incompetent.

So if UGA beats ASU and ASU plays USC close would UGA get the nod over USC if they both had only 1 loss?

We are a nation of PC wimps - that's what we are. Kids who all get trophies, no-one ever loses, never raise your voice, never step out of line, etc. Don't celebrate, don't get excited, keep your voice down, the refs are watching...Does anyone remember the smurfs and the dances and the spikes and the in your face now come and back it up. Is this football or the girls powderpuff 2 hand touch league? Give me my man football back these new celebrations and taunting rules suck. The old Miami would've lost several games if rules like these had been in place.

Janus,

If you read my post you see I was responding to the poster who said something about how SEC doesn't play Mac teams or some other non-sense. Anyways, UGA fans are used to hearing about how everyone is going to kill us. We heard it from Boise St fans and their heralded QB, OSU Cowboys and their great WR, Florida and Tim Tebow fans, Hawaii and Colt Brennan fans, CMU and Dan LeFevour fans etc. It never stops, we are tired of hearing about how great these other peoples QBs are and how we have never faced an offense like theirs. By the way we blew out all those teams. How about a little love for Mr. Football - Knowshon Moreno who is the real superman. About the game next week, even if OSU loses they can creep back into the picture later on they just have to not bet blown out.

kbrin6,

the Big12 is not weak this year either they might be the best conference with 5 or 6 legit teams.

Kansas,
Missouri,
Nebraska,
Oklahoma,
Texas,
Texas Tech

So do you really follow college football or are you just pissed because OSU underperformed yesterday. Please grow up.

kbrin6,

You almost got beat by a mid-level MAC team. Georgia housed the 2 time Mac champs who have a legit Heisman candidtate by 39 (and should've been 49). I don't usually trash OSU fans because most on this board are rational. I'm not going to point out things that have been pointed out a thousand times before so please stop embarrassing your fellow OSU posters with your garbage.

I agree they need to change the format of these things. The writers of this fannation don't pick enough good stories and the titles are usually not very good so we as fans are left to talk about what we want. In this case, we wore out that OSU stunk yesterday and are left to ponder what else was actually interesting yesterday. No one wants to talk about a lousy performance by OSU all day long and no one wants to discuss OSU beating them at this point because it sounds ridiculous. So we discuss OU which is more interesting right now. Sorry...but not much to say about OSU right now.

The Glenville HS Football Team = OSU Football Factory. OSU Alumni ought to be paying for every kids college tuition for the players that have come their way from that school.
