What's Ohio State's bowl record against LSU?
Posted Friday August 08, 2008, About: Carroll: It pays to stay at USC
LSU is just crying themselves to sleep every night about Joe McKnight leaving...

They really have a lack of playmakers on their roster and were just so incredibly desperate to sign Joe.

And I'm sorry you don't consider LSU to be a dynasty...go count your crystal trophies tough guys

Your right....being a student at Harvard shows he has absolutely no intelligence at all

Leaving one of the most prestigious universities in the world to go on a religious mission trip really shows the lack of character this guy has

What are the standards of being an intelligent person is today's society?

Apparently attending Harvard University doesn't cut it anymore...

Did you seriously just use the OU loses their bowl games argument?

Point proven....

Most Ohio State fans will still turn a blind eye to those stats and still claim their program has been far more superior than Oklahoma, even though the two programs have been very similar

And i don't put too much stock into the words that come out of Herbie's mouth, but that's probably because he always seems to be going against LSU haha

RR should adapt his system in the short term and adjust it to the players he has on the roster now. He is being arrogant thinking he can come in and run his offense the same way he did at WVU and be successful this year.

No, the talent level of these two quarterbacks is not the same as when LSU had Russell and Flynn. No quarterback on their roster has the upside that Jamarcus Russell had, but I think the talent around the QB position is probably even stronger than in years past. The offensive line is very experienced, very big, and very talented. There are three running backs with superstar potential, Keiland Williams, Richard Murphy, and Charles Scott. I would look for a nice rotation from those three. The wide receivers should be improved from last year as a unit, so I'm expecting big things from the offense. But it all depends on how good the QB play is.

I agree that Petrino will be the first to leave. He's always looking for his next job anyway, and he's not going to have it easy in the SEC. Croom is an outstanding coach and I hope he sticks around at Mississippi State for a while, I really like him. Nutt is a proven winner in the SEC west, and I think he'll do more of the same at Ole Miss. However, Nutt needs to learn from his mistakes and be careful about the way he runs his program. I think Tuberville could end up on the hot seat in about three years if his new spread offense doesn't work and he loses a couple of Iron bowls.

Why is there so much complaining about the weather in Big 10 country in the late fall and winter compared to in the south? Everyone knows it is obviously much colder in the north than in the south late in the football season. But what about early in the season? When the humidity is 100% every day in Louisiana and the temperatures are in the 90s, isn't that just as tough on an athlete's body? Check out the amount of Miami players suffering from dehydration during practice. The weather in the South is the opposite extreme during this time of year.

The bruins still have a long way to go to break out of the mediocrity that program has been stuck in for years. They do have a very interesting coaching staff now though. Lets see the bruins make the PAC-10 a bit tougher for USC to win the conference.

Alabama and Auburn will eventually flip flop places I think. Nick Saban is simply going to out recruit Tuberville in the state of Alabama, and that talent advantage will lead to more wins for Alabama. It will be very interesting to see how Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Arkansas compete in the Western Division over the next few years. All of those teams are going to have a tough time winning against LSU, Alabama, and Auburn. Who will be the first coach in the West division to get canned?

I'm not quite sold on WVU yet. I'm not a fan of the Bill Stewart hire, but he does inherit a lot of talent left over from RR. Still, I don't feel like he's a coach who will bring West Virginia higher then Rich Rodriguez brought them. I expect Auburn to knock them out of the championship picture, or maybe Pittsburgh will do it again. I also expect USC to win a close game over OSU. I don't see Oklahoma losing to Texas or Tech so thats one team I expect to compete for the title. The ACC is going to be completely irrelevant in the NC picture so that just leaves the SEC champion or USC. I expect one of those teams to play OU for the title

Georgia has beaten LSU pretty badly the last two times the teams have met, but I think the Tigers will be looking for a little revenge. Death Valley will definitely be rocking when the bull dogs come to town!

SEC_PAC_FAN,
I have to agree that USC and LSU have been the best two programs of the decade. Ohio State is not far behind, but they have struggled against upper level competition. The same could be said for Oklahoma. All of these schools have produced great talent for the college game and the NFL. But the Big-10, as a whole, has been down this decade. They have not been as good recently as they have been historically.

I agree that next year will be LSU's year, but I can't see them losing four games this year. Three is a possibility, but I think two is more realistic. Their toughest three games are against Florida, Georgia, and Auburn of course, but I can't see the tigers losing all three of those. Every other game they SHOULD win, but how often does a team when every game it should?

I wasn't comparing Pulley's athletic ability to Ryan Perrilloux's abilities. I was just comparing the situations. Both schools had to dismiss their likely starting QB because of a series of trouble each player got himself into.

AJ Green has me really excited too. I can't wait to see what he can bring to the Georgia passing game. LSU has a few guys ready to explode onto the scene this year. Nobody has me more excited then Chad Jones though. He will be a full time player this year and I think he is going to be a super star. His game reminds me a lot of LaRon Landry's.
