Posted Saturday June 02, 2012, About: Replay might have erased Santana's no-hitter
I have a perfect solution for this sort of thing but no one seems to like it: Have replay on everything, but not for getting the call right. Instead the official scorers use it to give errors to umpires just like they give them to players. Seems perfectly in keeping with the stat obsessed spirit of baseball, doesn't slow down the game at all (as if that were even possible), and gives a better was to evaluate umpires.
Posted Friday April 27, 2012, About: Miami assumes draft's greatest risk
The coverage that mystifys me the most is all the talk about how great it is that Mike Sherman and Tannehill are together again. The coach who didn't get him to play very well at Texas A&M is now going to coach him up and turn him into a star in Miami? Really?
Posted Wednesday April 18, 2012, About: Jets will have a Tebow playbook
He likes Tony Sporano's offense? I guess he is a big fan of field goals and fist pumps :-).
Posted Tuesday April 10, 2012, About: Astros shatter dubious record
Heck, that's a gigantic crowd compared to the picture I saw today of the last Oakland game. I think there might have been 50 people in the stands in Oakland (probably all vendors :-).
Posted Wednesday March 28, 2012, About: Manning put off by Ireland?
The only theory most folks can come up with to explain why Ireland is still around is that he has something on Ross.
Posted Saturday March 24, 2012, About: Hoge: Tebow, Jets are clueless
Nobody realizes the sheer genius behind this: Rex is going to make Tim the first true "closer" in football. Tim plays well only in the 4th quarter. Tim constantly engineers miraculous 4th quarter comebacks. It is obvious: You put him in as QB when you are behind in the 4th quarter :-).
Posted Monday March 19, 2012, About: Smith considers dumping his agent
So if Smith is rational, that means he cerrainly won't sign with Miami, right?
Posted Monday March 19, 2012, About: How Dolphins misjudged Manning
The main reason they wanted Manning was to sell tickets. I hear they are planning to offer the job to Kate Upton next.
Posted Tuesday March 06, 2012, About: Report: Brees 'livid' over franchise tag
Hey, come on down and play for Miami :-).
Posted Tuesday March 06, 2012, About: Marlins' psychedelic sculpture may have to go
Don't worry, it has so many moving parts it will break down by the 3rd home run anyway.
Posted Thursday March 01, 2012, About: The hottest QB after Manning and Flynn
There is a long history of ex-Dolphins QBs going somewhere else and being more effective (not turning into stars, mind you, but having much better years than they did in Miami). I've long suspected there is some problem with the way Miami coaching and play calling treats QBs.
Posted Monday December 05, 2011, About: Tim Tebow: MVP candidate
Nonsense, Peyton Manning is clearly the most valuable player by this logic :-).
Posted Monday November 28, 2011, About: Marlins likely to make Wilson an offer
Until I actually see a contract signed, I'm betting this is just Jeffrey Loria having dog and pony shows to gen up interest in folks buying season tickets. Once he sells enough tickets, the parade of talent through South Florida will stop.
Posted Saturday November 26, 2011, About: Suh threatening his own marketability
The most obvious proof of his mental problems is the fact that he offered the absurd excuses despite the fact that he should have known there were cameras recording the event from about 15 different angles. Someone with a full set of marbles would at least have tried to make up something that didn't flatly contradict all the cameras.
Posted Sunday November 20, 2011, About: Marlins want to be Latin America's team
If they want to try a new winning formula, here's one they might want to test: Don't blow up the team the next time they win a championship.
Posted Wednesday November 02, 2011, About: Cuban would buy Dodgers, but not at $1B
Hey Mark! While you are at it, why not buy the Dolphins as well?
Posted Monday October 31, 2011, About: Dolphins left chasing Fisher and Gruden?
Considering what Jim Harbaugh has done for the 49ers, I'd say just keep stacking money on the table till he can't resist leaving the 49ers after one year and switching to Miami to rejoin Andrew Luck :-).
Posted Sunday October 30, 2011, About: Will Luck draft lead to lottery?
I think a rule change that makes sense could be made: Don't look at one year's record - look at the past 3 or 4 years when determining draft order. This idea has absolutely nothing to do with me wanting the Dolphins to get Luck rather than the Colts :-).
Posted Wednesday October 26, 2011, About: Colts to start fresh, keep Manning sidelined?
He HAS to come back to win a couple of games so the Dolphins will have the worst record!
Posted Wednesday October 19, 2011, About: Defeatist Dolphins fans anger Sparano
Hey, at least Ross tried (in his own fumbling way) to get Jim Harbaugh to Miami. Just think, if it had worked Miami might be the 49ers this year.
Posted Saturday October 15, 2011, About: Michigan has a far healthier Robinson this year
So, I just flipped past the Michigan/Michigan State game and saw the new Spartan's uniforms. Can the helmet design be described any other way than "butthead"?
