Posted Sunday January 19, 2014, About: Report: Five MLB teams submit offers for Masahiro Tanaka
Dodgers win it. Kershaw, Grienke, Ryu, Tanaka, Haren. Waiting for one to go down is Beckett, Billingsly (by June), Fife, Z. Lee, et al. Depth, depth, depth. History has proven the team with most depth survives the grueling 162 game season I the best post-season position. Dodgers are built for October.

CAn the Dodgers afford to go big on Tanaka as well?

Here is some rough math to understand the Dodgers willingness to spend big, big bucks.

1. Target of 5M tickets sold this year (4.4 million last year). Average $50 per (including the extras) thats $250 million in revenue.
2. TWC TV contract (local). 7 years at 2.1 Billion Dollars. Thats $300 million a year.
3. Merch worldwide, expected revenue of % .8-1 Billion a year.
4. International TV rights, revenue from re-brodcast rights, league revenue...GOd knows how much.
5. Growing international markets, international audiances, intrnational teams and player development (who can calculate the value?)

Is it any wonder the dodgers dont even sneeze at a $250 million dollar payroll. Allthe Dodgers need to do is win and the the dollars will flow like oil out of an Arabian well. Anybody who doesn't want in on that is a fool.

Posted Saturday November 30, 2013, About: D'Antoni: 'I don't feel great about what we're doing'
They won the right to return the team to something that resembles LA. DH is a prim donna who has no sense of anyone or anything besides himself. HE will never win a championship....Houston is already showing signs of a lot of discontent among teammates....Dwight makes a lot of other guys feel second class...he really thinks he is better than anyone else....there is no team in DH.
Posted Saturday November 30, 2013, About: D'Antoni: 'I don't feel great about what we're doing'
Great sound bite dude, but its totally empty rhetoric. D"Antoni has done a lot with a bunch of misfits, castoffs, arrestees, and admitted drug abusers. He has these guys playing like a team and beating the guys they should. He has not had three of the four stars that were supposed to have taken them to the promise land, yet his record is better than that team was at this point last year. They have easily given away four games that they only needed to have closed the door...they could well be 13-4.....how's that for some more empty rhetoric.

Clippers opened the door to these shenanigans. I wouldn't blame the Lakers if they did just that!!!

Puig is young, dumb, and full of kum. But on the bright side he's gifted, spirited, and willing to listen and admit to his mistakes. He'll learn. he has very good parents and was raised right. This is a lot for him to handle all at once. You who like to throw stones, I suggest you pelt your own house first.

That's what I want my kids to think? Really? My twelve year old son should start using PEDs to make himself a man??? Dude, you are so twisted, I actually think you should be recycled....something is seriously wrong between your ears.
Posted Sunday August 11, 2013, About: Jack Clark fired after accusing Albert Pujols of PEDs use
Lots and lots of legal impediments to changing the value of the contract....you think the lawyers are involved now???...try to modify or cancel these contracts based on lab results and the litigation will go through the roof!!
Posted Sunday August 11, 2013, About: Jack Clark fired after accusing Albert Pujols of PEDs use
The lawsuit will center on the testimony of Clark vs the testimony of the trainer. If the Jury believes the trainer's testimony, then they can find that ...by a preponderance of the evidence...that Clark Lied. If they can not say who they believe, then the case is dead. the focus is on whether or not those words were said to him, or whether he made them up....whether or not Pujos actually used PEDs is irrelevant to any lawsuit in this case.

Posted Tuesday May 28, 2013, About: Dodgers shut down Beckett
Obviously you're not paying close attention. While beckett has suffered from his injury, Gonzo has emerged as a team leader, hitting .337 with 37 RBI's and a .910 OPS. Crawford (who some said was finsihed0 is hitting .307 with 30 runs and a .836 OPS. Biggest surprise of all is Punto, who is hitting .327, with an OBP of .413 and OPS of .817. These boys came to play, and while the dodgers have been struggling (MAtt Kemp and Andrea Eithier have failed to produce, Hanley Ramirez missed all but 4 games, Grienke out with broken collarbone......yadi, yadi, ya) the Boston trio has kept the Dodgers from sinking all the way.
Meanwhile back in Boston the pieces the Red Sox got have failed to bring them anything. Ruby DeLarosa is in the minors with a 9.45 era this year. Jerry Sands went to Pittsburg for Brock Holt, who is alos laboring in the minors. James Loney was released, but picked up by the RAys where he is having a resurgence. Ivan DeJesus Jr. also went to Pittsburg for Joel Hanrahan who is out for the season with a tendon tear in his elbow. Lastly, Allen Webster pitched a few good games in the minors only to be called up last week and was rocked by the Twinkies. True blue LA fans are very happy for this trade.

Posted Friday April 05, 2013, About: It's starting to look bad for these Dodgers pitchers
These three pitchers serve two very imporatnt roles. 1. Insurance against an injury, 2. trade material to continue to restock their farm system. Two of them in the pen is not a problem as their pen is loaded with five other very talented guys and they have Zach Lee and Steven Fife wating in the minors should they need him. Overall the Dodgers are the most stacked team in the bigs when it comes to pitching.
Anyone who knows anything about baseball knows that every year teams that could contend lose their edge when one or two of their staters goes down. All three of these guys can step up and help just about any major league club out there. The Dodgers are very well positioned to defend against that possibility for themselves, as well as bring about some good prospects coming from a team that is fighting for a playoff spot and is desperate for a healthy, eager CAP, Lilly, or Harang. Kasten is a very smart guy and knows how to play long ball. The season goes on for 6 months, I predict this move will play out as one of the smarter moves we've seen in a while.
No doubt they had trades offred in the off season, but better to wait until a team is really hungry and then you raise the price of dinner.
Posted Tuesday March 26, 2013, About: Dodgers stare at opening with eight starters
Gotta go with the 12 best pitchers you can find. If 8 of them have beens starters in the past, it simply means that you have depth in the starting pitching aspect. If your proven starters and closers are strong then those guys in the middle can be less than stellar, really you are happy if they are stable.

Haters go home, get a life. My boy got a little tenderness. Happens to 1 of4 pitchers every spring. Nothing to see here. Just move along.
