Everyone else who is undersized drops down a division. The weight limit has been set at 265 for a long time, and Brock is the perfect size for it. Fedor might need to do the same. We'll see what he's "better" at, but currently, Fedor is only the champ of a plastic belt, and he is the king of the "being-an-****-and-letting-your-manager-make-all-your-decisions-for-you&qu ot; HALL OF FAME.

That worked really well for Mir.

Fedor should be fighting at LHW. He needs to lay off the grease.
Posted Monday July 27, 2009, About: White: Fedor will fight for title first
Yes, but some of the sure-fire superstars(Wanderlei, Shogun), have not been comfortable in their first Octagon outing and have looked very beatable. I'm not trying to make this into a Pride vs. UFC discussion, it's just that fighting in the octagon requires some adjustment. If Fedor doesn't want to fight a tune up then it's up to him, I just think the track record of his peers should make him think twice. I'm on the fence about it.

He should have to fight a tune up. Hell, after seeing what has happened to the other Pride superstars he should WANT to fight a tune up. How much of a letdown would it be if Fedor went out and got tooled like Cro-Cop. I'm not saying he would, but the thought should cross his mind.

Really? There's a lot of MMA knowledge in this crowd. There's a lot of ****-talking, but the regulars tend to think before speaking. I agree with you but the first half of what you said is a bit ignorant.

Aww. I hated Tito and loved Machida even when he was being called Macheetah, but even I have to admit that Tito almost got him in that triangle and then arm bar. Tito was pissed/losing up until that point, but reality is what it is.

I met Lashley at the fan expo. He is definitely a heavily muscled guy, but I have to say I think he's shorter than the 6'2" that he is listed at. Not that height makes all the difference in the world, and I've never been anywhere near Lesnar, but the champ sounds like an abomination of size. I know Lashley is taking his time and slowly moving up the MMA ladder, but he didn't even finish Jason Guida. He has a loooooong way to go.
Posted Tuesday July 07, 2009, About: Fertitta woos Cro Cop in Croatia
I didn't say that Cro-Cop is German, but the only reason that the UFC brought back Cro-Cop for their show in Germany because he has a following in Europe, and they'd hoped to appeal to fans for their first show there. Just to clarify further: They don't need a European fighter to appeal to fans for a show in Europe for a while, and thus they don't need Cro-Cop. PM me if you're more of a visual learner and you need me to draw you a picture of how this works.
Posted Monday July 06, 2009, About: Fertitta woos Cro Cop in Croatia
Just to add to what XX has already said, this is the most poorly written article I've ever seen at the top of a T&R. It may be a straight copy/paste from google translator. I don't see the UFC having much use for Cro-Cop. They won't be headed back to Germany for a while, and he is definitely not a top tier fighter anymore. Cro-Cop is rumored to have rejected a handful of opponents before he was offered a fight with Al-Turk. That speaks volumes. He is one nut-shot away from retirement.

I got stuck on the part where you wrote "Ras Butten" and decided you are a ****. Good Show.

http://www.411mania.com/MMA/news/107583/Eleven-Fighters-Receive-Medical-Suspens ions-From-UFC-99.htm

That's a detailed list of the reasons for the medical suspensions. Medical suspensions happen after every event, which is why I was mocking the need for the original post. It's a mechanism put in place to protect fighters from themselves more than anything, and to keep them from fighting too often. Most definitely not steroids.

How thrilling and newsworthy.
Posted Wednesday June 17, 2009, About: Poor ticket sales behind Mayweather-Marquez delay
I think most of us end up in these threads because the forum is labeled "MMA". It would be nice if there were separate areas, but I think the T&R staff already has a hard enough time posting new stories. I actually like the back-and-forth when the arguments are intelligent. It doesn't tend to be very often in here, but it happens.

I'm sorry, you're 100% right. Kimbo is an elite athlete who never played a down at a football school that isn't even a football school anymore. You show genuine promise in these forums and I hope you continue to post your brain-dead ****. Cheers.

Mercer vs Sylvia showed a few things. Primarily it showed that Tim Sylvia is morbidly obese. Nobody with any knowledge of the sport takes Sylvia seriously anymore. Ray Mercer would still get railed inside the octagon and even he would agree with that. He lost to Kimbo Slice who is neither an MMA fighter, a boxer, or a professional athlete for that matter. Pull your head out of your ass and throw jabs at the right group of people--the boxing promoters have royally **** the fans that support them. Stop grasping at straws trying to prop up boxing. I honestly hope that boxing can reinvent itself and become interesting again, but it seems really unlikely at this point.
Posted Monday June 15, 2009, About: Poor ticket sales behind Mayweather-Marquez delay
I think the point to be taken here is that a lot of money is also being spent to grow the sport of MMA and it shows. If boxing promoters were doing the same thing instead of arguing over belts, titles, and orgs, then people might not be jumping ship. Also, don't get it confused: boxers are grossly overpaid just like all professional atheletes, MMA fighters might not be getting paid as much, but the business model is more sustainable and unlikely to destroy itself the way boxing has. With sponsorships, MMA fighter's do quite well.

Might want to do a little research before coming in here and making wild generalizations and speaking out of turn. I'll let the other posters pick apart everything that was false about your ridiculous statement.
