Sorry that I haven't been on as often as I have been. Been working those doubles and triples and such.
Anywho, I am disappointed, like all of you, that we didn't get to hoist the trophy again. I had strong convictions going into spring training that we would repeat. Growing up in the SF Bay Area, I NEVER been a Giants Fan. NEVER. If my family had tickets to the games, we would always root on Willie, Ozzie and the rest of the Cardinal team.
Now that I am in MO, I have been rooting on the Cardinals with such fervor, that my wife often wonders about me. My 12 year old son is a huge fan of the Cardinals. And ElevenRings, we will have that title again. The Yankees may be a few ahead of us, but we will catch them.
I am sure I am not the first person to say this, but Welcome back, Waino! I hadn't had the chance to see him in action yet, but with what I keep hearing, he is doing just fine.
If only the Front Office gave the same consideration for El Hombre. It will be sad not to have him at 1st, but with a great Vet like Lance Berkman, I think we can do the unthinkable this year: Repeat. Will it be hard? Yes. That aside, I am glad that Yadi is staying in StL.
One other offer that I have heard about is a 6 yr/$198M with 8% ownership of the team. I am not sure of the validity of this. But I do hope that what ever they offer Albert, that he resigns with the Redbirds.

I have to disagree. They are the best sports organization on the planet!!! WHOOOO HOOO!
I have been following TLR's career since I lived in California. While some may say that he is rough around the edges at times, he truly knows and loves the game and I have to say that without a doubt, TLR is probably one of, if not the best managers in baseball. Obviously, he goes out on top. Tony, thanks for the memories. And this is what I have to say about your HOF chances: Your a first ballot shoe-in.
Thanks once again for the memories, Tony.

The last game was a debacle to say the least. With all the LOB's, you'd think the score would of been something line the 16-7 schellaching (sp?) a few days ago. I hate to say this but hope TLR gets his head out of his BLEEP and get it right. I love the guy, but we have to win...or go home.
I envy you brother. Wish I could be there. I will be attending the July 4th game next year or the All-Star Game in KC for my 40th.

I think it will be a tough series for all involved. But if I had to pick, the Cards in 7. It will be a slobberknocker of a series.

I think Homer Simpson says it best in several ways:
"D'OH!" "Why you stupid little....!"
Sister, you ain't the only person who despises this BLEEP with a passion. And who was it that said that the Cards won't make much of themselves this season?
And where are those critics now????
Probably licking their wounds.

Same here. I think that we have the best line-up, once Waino comes back. And I agree with you that the obvious question (and worry), is with Albert. What will be the size of his contract (if he were to resign with the redbirds). But I hope that what I am about to say will give the Cards a bargaining chip. The Cards win tonite and depending on their play, and make it deep into the playoffs, we should have the inside track in resigning El Hombre. The big Q is, again, the particulars on the contract. Besides, there isn't but a few teams who could afford his terms and even then, will he get the playing time he deserves? I think that when we resign him is that there will be incentives. One in particular will be if he wins the TC. The last player to win the TC was the Yaz back in 1967. I think he is due.
As far as Berkman, well.....
And Schumaker, it's been real, its been fun. It's time to go

Ten, I couldn't agree more. The season was looking bleak when we got swept by the Dodgers at the end of August. But as I said to my co workers and to the many of adults I have to babysit (I work for the Missouri Department of Corrections), it isn't over til the fat lady sing. I haven't heard her sing yet. And I don't know about you, I am not giving up without a fight.
I think this September will be one of the best that I have seen in Cards history. They have had a "Never Say Die" attitude, even when the game looked bleak. I can think of someone else to be on the hill, but he is down. Waino would be great to finish out the season, but I think Carp is a very close second choice.
I didn't get to see the game, only the highlights. I thought to myself, "Self, it isn't looking good", until I saw that they put up a nickle and then added a couple more nickles for good effort. It will be a tough game against Myers tonite. But I think we can make it.
I think, and don't quote me on this, Rhodes use to play for TLR back in the day. I just can't remember where.
The fat lady hasn't sung yet. And I won't rest until we get in the post-season.
This is very possible, but I remain optimistic that he will resign. Sure his cork will pop. I am sure deep down he wants to resign with the Cards. And when Waino is ready for next season, HOPEFULLY, Albert will still be at first base come spring training next season.

Do we have any pitching prospects in the minors that can be called up to prove their worth and fill the void by Waino for this season. I won't want Waino to feel that we have replaced him permanently. Just a temp basis til the TJ surgery is a success and we can throw the gas again.
