Chuck would be smart to retire and save his remaining brain cells, but I wouldn't object to another battle between him and Wanderlei. Their last fight was entertaining as hell, and it was the last time Chuck actually won. After Wanderlei gets trounced by Franklin, he can fight Chuck and have a chance to avenge his loss in their first meeting. While it wouldn't be main event material, it would make for another entertaining undercard fight.

Haha...exactly...he didn't beat Dolloway 2 times just by mere luck. And I was happy both times...can't stand Dolloway...someone really needs to bash his annoying face in.

Marvin Eastman...man, that guy has taken some vicious beatdowns...most memorably the one against Vitor Belfort...I don't think I have ever seen a nastier cut than the one he got in that fight.
Posted Tuesday March 24, 2009, About: Arlovski pulls out of boxing debut
While Arlovski is definitely overrated by a lot of people, I wouldn't exactly say he has failed at MMA...he is a former UFC champ and a top 10 HW after all.

I also don't think "heart" is what Arlovski lacks...you need to look a little higher...his glass jaw and questionable brain have been his weaknesses.
Posted Tuesday March 10, 2009, About: Hughes might change weight
Funny stuff...unless you're actually serious...which it appears you are.

Hughes defined domination, but his time is over. Knee injury or not, he is not at the same level as GSP or some of the other top fighters anymore. If you are waiting for him to return and reclaim the throne, you will be waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

Just to clarify, the 2nd half of my post was directed toward Cyne10, not you, jpsmooth20.
Posted Tuesday January 27, 2009, About: UFC: Evans needed more recovery time
I agree. Rampage certainly shouldn't have to start at the bottom, but Machida/Silva should get the next title shot...then Rampage, after he MURDERS Jardine, should get the next shot at Evans, who will beat either Silva or Machida.

You have to be kidding if you really think Machida will "hand Evans his backside." I haven't seen him hand anyone their backside in the UFC...well maybe Sokoudjou with the choke, but who DOESN'T kill Sokoudjou these days? The guy has turned into a chump.
Posted Tuesday January 27, 2009, About: Trump: UFC flooding market
Haha, I know. All of these people riding Belfort's jock now just because he destroyed Matt Lindland? Give me a break. I agree that Vitor looked good at 185, but to say he may soon be Silva's main challenge is a major leap. But, on the other hand, I'd much rather see him fight Anderson than Thales Leites...what the fu*% is that fight all about? It's going to suck.
Posted Tuesday January 27, 2009, About: Trump: UFC flooding market
Affliction has ONE guy who everyone wants to see and that's Fedor. Without Fedor on the card, no one would care about the event. If Affliction puts out a card without Fedor on it, forget about it. Who will pay for that? That's right, nobody.

As far as the UFC is concerned, they do put out some lame cards for PPV, but no one is forcing you to buy it. Skip it. It won't kill you to miss a few fights that you don't really care about. Or just go to a sports bar that has it. I have no problem with them offering some mediocre fight cards in between the great ones. It gives us the OPTION to either pay for it or see it in a bar for free if we're in the mood to watch fights.
Posted Friday January 23, 2009, About: White: UFC 94 to be biggest event ever
I always get sick of Dana saying how each card is the biggest or best card ever, but no hyperbole is being used in this case. I have never been as excited for a fight as I have been for the past few months anticipating GSP vs PENN.

The undercard has some damn good fights too...Machida/Silva obviously, and I'm also interested to see Diaz/Guida...it will be the first real competition for Diaz, whom I hate. I hope Guida KO's him VIOLENTLY.

And can anyone tell me why Parisyan is on the main card? He has looked like garbage in the past year or so. He has no business being anywhere but the undercard.

How can Fitch possibly be on the "may not be broadcast" list??? He is still one of the top welterweights in the world...Dana should be smacked around for doing this.
Posted Wednesday January 14, 2009, About: Franklin bored with TUF
It's a tough fight to call, but:

If they stay on their feet and keep it strictly a striking match, Franklin will win...no doubt.

If Henderson can get in close and control Franklin up against the cage or on the ground, he will win. People have commented that Franklin is stronger and will be able to get away without a problem, but don't believe it. I would take Henderson any day when it comes to brute strength.

My prediction: Henderson WILL end up controlling Franklin and win by unanimous decision.
Posted Saturday January 10, 2009, About: Couture open to fighting Nogueira
Well they were two of the best the UFC had to offer (Sylvia being the champ who took out Arlovski two times in a row)...and I would still take them over most of the other UFC heavyweights. And honestly, how many "great" heavyweights are out there? Besides Fedor and Lesnar, I would give Randy a decent chance against ANY other HW in the world. And he would undoubtedly beat Nog, who, in my opinion, is done when it comes to being a top-level fighter.
Posted Friday January 09, 2009, About: Couture open to fighting Nogueira
People need to stop thinking Randy is done or washed up.

Nog is the one who is going downhill fast...he is no longer a real threat. He has looked unimpressive in all of his UFC fights (even in the victory against Sylvia), and his performance against Mir was just plain embarrassing.

I think you're wrong about Couture though...although he is old, he looked great against Sylvia and Gonzaga...you can't think he is done or washed up just because he lost to Lesnar. Lesnar is a monster and the size advantage was overwhelming. What Lesnar did to Mir was worse than what he did to Couture. Mir was being annihilated and was only helped by Mazzagatti's incompetence and Lesnar's inexperience.

I have no doubts that Randy could still defeat ANY other heavyweight in the UFC not named Brock. He will beat Nog if they fight. Count on it.
Posted Friday January 09, 2009, About: Evans predicts Rampage bout
Just as I predicted, Rashad won by KO. Forrest has great heart and talent, but he just lacks the power and quickness that Rashad has. Since Forrest will never back down from standing and exchanging with anyone, I knew Rashad would eventually catch him in an exchange and then end it. It happened when Griffin fought Jardine and it was extremely close to happening against Rampage early in the fight. It was only a matter of time against Rashad.

But yes, Machida or Silva have to get the next shot. Just like Florian has to get the next shot against BJ. They have earned it.

Great post...funny as hell!
Posted Wednesday December 03, 2008, About: Couture, Liddell lukewarm to rematch
You're an idiot!

Are non-professional athletes not allowed to comment or have an opinion about the professionals? Of course none of us would be able to beat Chuck in a fight, you moron. Just like all of the armchair quarterbacks who criticize football players probably couldn't even complete a pass in the NFL. Who cares? They can still judge and analyze talent. Since Chuck Liddell would kill me in a fight that means I can't say he is over the hill and past his prime? Well it's the truth, so deal with it. I'll attribute your idiotic post to it being your first one.
Posted Sunday November 30, 2008, About: Teammate helped Plaxico hide gun
Like this situation is a real shocker. Just like plenty of other professional athletes, he's a low-life thug who just happens to be great at a sport. If he didn't make the NFL, he would probably be in prison already.
Posted Sunday November 23, 2008, About: Liddell-Couture bout in making
The winner would face the heavyweight champion at the end of the year? Are you KIDDING me? I don't want to see Lesnar (yes, Lesnar will still be the champion after beating Mir, Nog, or any other HW in the UFC) fight Couture again, and I can only imagine what Lesnar would do to Chuck. Liddell wouldn't be able to compete against a guy Lesnar's size...it would be ridiculous. We all saw how much of a physical mismatch it was with Lesnar/Couture...just imagine how Lesnar/Liddell would look...Chuck has no size or bulk, and would look like a scrawny kid compared to Brock.
Posted Tuesday November 04, 2008, About: White no fan of TUF format
Although Bisping isn't great and I am not a huge fan of his, saying he is the "Kimbo" of the UFC is laughable. He has won some fights against quality opponents. And even though it was a horribly boring fight, he was competitive against Rashad Evans, who is fighting for the LHW title soon. I won't be shocked if he beats either Franklin or Henderson when they fight.

Is there anyone who DOESN'T think that? It's pretty obvious.
