and What in the heck is with all the ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????? s in this dumb article?
War Eagle!
And what a name for a QB. Smelley. What a group. He's good though, I saw him play last season in limited action. Spurrier will start him but he may play musical QBs all year. It's his way.
War Eagle!
I'm glad you brought that up. I atually root for 'bama when they aren't playing Auburn - I want to see two highly-ranked teams play in the Iron Bowl but 'bama hasn't kept up their end of the bargain lately. They'll get there but it'll be at least another year I think. I do remember the first time Auburn had a bona-fide REAL home game (and not at legion field, where Bama used to play more games that at Bryant-denny). Bama was 10-0, ranked 2nd in the country, and lost to us 30-20. Waahh lol
Blaming "Shula's recruits" for behaving badly doesn't help much. It's Saban's JOB to make sure they know how they are expected to behave, and when Saban "gets his kids in there" I don't see it getting any better, although it can't get much worse, can it? Like I said, a couple of kids a year? That's gonna happen anyplace. But if Saban continues what I saw in Miami, he's just asking for trouble. You get a bunch of thugs on your team and you're going to have a bunch of thugs behaving like thugs.
As far as "living on 9 and 2" - I'd say 9 wins in 11 games against TOP FIVE TEAMS is pretty damned good! Tuberville has made himself a reputation for being a giant-killer so we Auburn fans (and by extension of his record, his players) go into games KNOWING that we always have a chance to win, even at Florida last year when Lou Holtz was on shaking his head saying "Auburn has NO chance to win...NO chance." Well, I guess that's why ole Lou is retired.
And no, most coaches DON'T lie about talking with other teams. They generally dodge the question instead of answering it so they don't HAVE to lie. People can read between the lines when that happens. And the Dolphins didn't hire him thinking he would be there for 2 whole years, then bolt because he can't handle the pro game. He didn't draft any stars in his two NFL drafts, even if ex-Auburn RB Ronnie Brown started showing his potential. He was actually leading the NFL in yards from scrimmage last season before he got injured, but at least Saban saw Brown was the better pro prospect than Cadillac is. Other than that, he didn't draft anyone of any impact in his two years unless he drafted Channing Crowder, I forget now. Still...in two drafts you should have at least a handful of starters, minimum. So instead of honoring his committment with Wayne Huizinga and the Dolphins, he bolted.
At least Saban has a LITTLE class - he didn't do the 'fins like Bobby Petrino did by throwing the Falcons under the bus in the middle of a season. I will give him that.
Good luck in the corporate concrete jungle. Auburn's educated more future astronauts than any other school. I left the "corporate world" after I realized that greed truly does run things, and all the babble corporations yak about how their people are the most important thing, blah blah is a bunch of crap, and I've seen too many examples where their greed has come back to bite them in the butt.
Sorry you're only making 60K a year...that's entry-level pay in nuc med. Have a nice day.
It's one thing when you run a program and 1 or 2 kids get into trouble every year. That's just part of life. You get 100 college kids together, athletes, young, and think they're above others (as many do regardless of where they're playing) well...you're bound to have a couple of things happen in the offseason like that. But Bama has taken THAT to a whole new level. I guess Saban figures if he can't win on the field, he'll make DAMN sure that he gets Bama in the news any way he can. I can't believe you're trying to give ME a lecture about class, when Saban's Slimeballs clearly don't have any. It must make you proud that Bama's football program is singlehandedly contributing to the problem of prison overpopulation, huh? In Bama's case, it IS a reflection of the whole team because it's HOW SABAN OPERATES.
In Miami, he signed Michael Vick's younger brother, who was on track to follow in big bro's footsteps off to jail...he was only suspeded @ VT for the ENTIRE 2004 season for TWO criminal convictions - possession of weed and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a 15-yr-old girl. Niick Satan welcomed him with open arms. I'm not sure if he was listed in the press guide as Marcus Vick or Ron Mexico. But that illustrates Saban's mindset: Go for the talent, the rest be damned. He REALLY needs to learn that talent isn't everything, you've got to have good character not only to focus and play the game but to keep your butt out of trouble.
And you're paying Saban $4 million a year to "gradually get things RIGHT?" Are you freakin' KIDDING ME? He needs to run background checks on his players and recruits, because he obviously has NO talent for reading people or he just doesn't care about their pasts.
But all that is fine. I HOPE you guys get into the top ten or five someday, because The Riverboat Gambler is 9-2 at Auburn against top-5 teams!
I was posting in fun - it's part of the rivalry to pick at fans of the other side but your vitriolic attitude makes me wonder about you but I'm not losing any sleep over it. Just yet another idiot bama fan who thinks they are sooooo great because of a coach that's been dead for 25 years. I'm a Dolphins fan so I know Saban's antics and he's not changed his ways as you guys are finding out now.
So no, I won't "give it a rest." Like I said, every school is going to have a COUPLE of kids get out of line every year but 'bama has enough for the whole SEC, and it will KEEP going on as long as Saban is there...so you better get used to it, GIRL.
Oh...uh, Auburn was 13-0 in 2004, tgrh8r25., and obviously won the SEC championship, so before you go blasting Auburn "just because" you MIGHT want to CHECK yourself first?? I guess since 'bama is 0-6 against Auburn the last six years, you HAVE to make up things. The Riverboat Gambler has you guys DOMINATED. HAHAHAHAHAHA
