Harris.'s Comments

Posted Sunday April 20, 2008, About: Urlacher driving locker room wedge
He's not holding out or anything, he's just upset that he's not getting top end money. He's getting paid as one of the best, but he'd like to be payed as THE best. Which he deserves, he's the best linebacker in the game right now. Urlacher will be on the field in training camp, he will be there for OTAs this summer.

Remember last year when the Bears signed Tillman and Vasher both to big extensions? I bet they do the same this year to Harris and Urlacher. They're just investing more of their time into the draft, which is a smart move. They can focus on re-signing veterans later, but for now they need to focus on drafting to fill their holes.
Posted Monday March 03, 2008, About: Bills, Bears interested in Cards WR
There's no way the Bears were going to match the $7 million a year deal that Minneaota gave Berrian, so there's not much they could do there. They do need to bring in somebody though, right now they have no receivers that are starting worthy.
Posted Tuesday February 26, 2008, About: Vikings, Jaguars planning trade
From a 7th overall pick to a sixth rounder, good job Troy Williamson. I live in Southern Minnesota, and even though I'm not a big Vikings fan, I've seen them play just about every game every year. Williamson was one of the worst top ten picks ever. Way too small, he's fast, but not top of the line NFL fast like people thought he was, and God knows he couldn't catch a cold swimming in Lake Minnetonka.
Posted Saturday February 23, 2008, About: Bears to re-sign Grossman
This isn't anything for long term. Grossman is better than Griese and Orton, definitely, so they can offer him a one or two year deal while they groom a quarterback under him, but still be in a position to win games. He had his bad games, but so did his backups last year.
Posted Sunday July 08, 2007, About: Bears rethinking QB corps
Knucklebuster, the defense didn't play that badly. They just got worn down, because after the first quarter, the offense couldn't get a first down whatsoever. They were on the field all night. Look at what that defense did to the number one offense in the league last year (the Saints) when the offense could actually move the ball.
Posted Saturday July 07, 2007, About: Bears rethinking QB corps
Playangryfan is right. Orton stunk it up pretty bad his first year, and rode the defense and running game to a 10-5 record as a starter. Grossman had his moments, but also struggled, and ended up with a 13-3 record. Was Orton ever the NFC Offensive Player of the Month? Did he ever throw four touchdowns in a game? No and no, but Grossman has done both.

Its ridiculous to say Orton has more potential than Rex, look at the stats.

Orton has the most potential out of the three? Did you watch the NFL in '05?

No matter who's under center, with their defense and running game, they need a game manager more than anything else.

Kitna a better choice than Bulger, who made the Pro Bowl? Since when?
Posted Thursday July 05, 2007, About: Bears, Briggs to reopen talks
Even though he handled the sitaution poorly at first, Briggs is still one hell of a player and the Bears could really use him. I think he just saw free agents hitting the jackpot elsewhere this year, and got mad that he didn't have a chance to strike it rich. Here's to hoping a deal gets done.
Posted Monday July 02, 2007, About: Upstart league holds tryouts
I'd definitely follow it if it was played inspring/summer, when most people are dying for some football to watch.

He's overrated. http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/25910
Posted Thursday June 21, 2007, About: Does Urlacher support LB holdout?
I think Briggs is being downplayed too much. He's a great NFL linebacker, and even if Jamaar Williams has shown a lot of improvement, and he'll be hard to replace. Don't get me wrong, Briggs should not be holding out, especially considering the deals they've offered him, but he is one good player who will be missed.
Posted Sunday June 17, 2007, About: Bears won't trade no-show Briggs
They offered Briggs a six year, $35 million offer last summer, and he rejected it. The Bears have more than done their part in trying to get him to stay long term.
Posted Thursday June 14, 2007, About: Frustrated Bears DE hears rumors
Ogunleye has been just as good as Brown since joining the Bears. Both were alternates to the Pro Bowl after the '05-'06 season. Brown is a good player, and he probably has a few solid seasons left in him, but if he's demanding more money and doesn't want to be there, the Bears should trade him while they can.
Posted Sunday May 20, 2007, About: Buckeyes, Cardinal recruit Minn.
Probably because OSU football is worlds above the Gophers right now. Hopefully Brewster can turn it around though.
Posted Sunday May 20, 2007, About: Benson impressing Bears
The first three people who posted have no idea what they're talking about. If you watched Benson at all last year, and especially in the playoffs, you should see that he has a ton of potential.
Posted Sunday May 20, 2007, About: Eagles to trade McNabb to Bears?
Obviously a great move for Chicago, but it's 100% speculation right now.
Posted Saturday May 19, 2007, About: Bears demote missing Briggs
I view the franchise tag as more of locking up a great player, so you don't take the chance on somebody paying him a ridiculous amount of money and losing him. (Nate Clements, anyone?) The Bears have tried to sign Briggs to mutli-year deals before. Last summer he turned down a six year deal for $35 million, so don't think the Bears aren't trying to keep him. Briggs just saw people around the league hit the jackpot in free agency, and got angry that he didn't get a chance to test the waters. And yes, the Bears know exactly what they're doing when it comes to their money. They've built a great franchise out of free agency and the draft in recent years, and they've always had room to work under the salary cap.
Posted Monday May 14, 2007, About: Cowboys eyeing Arkansas RB in '08?
Who isn't targeting Darren McFadden? Of course the Cowboys are too.
Posted Sunday May 06, 2007, About: Bears working to trade DE
Brown was voted as an alternate to the Pro Bowl last year, even without high sack numbers. He's great against the run, and I've seen him cover tight ends in the past. But of course the Bears won't shell out $10 million for him, especially with a guy like Anderson behind him, even if he's a little raw against the run.
Posted Tuesday May 01, 2007, About: Brady's secret role in landing Moss
Bringing in a bunch of free agents doesn't gaurantee a thing, just look at the Redskins last year. They spend a ridiculous amount of money, traded away draft picks, and ended up picking sixth overall in this year's draft. I'm not saying the Patriots are going to be like that, under Belichick I doubt they could be, but I'm still curious to see how they all work together. All it takes is one loss, and the fingers start pointing, guys complain about not getting the ball, and things could get ugly. Like I said, I'm not expecting New England to bomb and miss the playoffs or anything, but you shouldn't write them in as Super Bowl champs just yet..
