Are you kidding? The Tides record over the last decade was because of people like "Shula's recruits"....You LSU fans are some of the most ungrateful people on the face of the planet. LSU would have absolutely NO success if it wasn't for Saban. He put LSU on the map....and LSU is STILL benefiting from the name he made for that football program. Before Saban, LSU was on the same level as Kentucky.

4 years you say? It didn't take LSU that long to melt down when Sabans recruits left. The meltdown was immediate. 8-5 with a loss to Arkansas and a miracle victory against the mighty Troy Trojans? In 4 years, LSU will once again be on the Kentucky level.

While on the other hand....with just "ONE" full year of recruiting....Saban returned Bama to the national stage.....played in(and loss) a BCS bowl game....spanked LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, and Auburn(36-0 shutout)........and all of this was done WITHOUT a QB.....or depth at any position, with the exception of RB. Amazing. Now, if all of this was done without a QB...or depth...what do you think the future looks like for Saban? This years recruiting class will finish in the top 6, possibly top 3....and now there are 3 great QB's on the sideline to choose from.

I agree 100%. I'm not a Tebow fan, hes a great player...but I think he is slightly overrated........but he is one of the classiest guys around.....and talking crap just isn't something he does. The media blew his comment waaaaayyyyy out of proportion.

....and the comments about Tebow probably being the 4th best QB in the Big 12 may be true....but that can be said for any QB, because those Big 12 Qb's are just that good.

I agree....even though the team is young....they did make a huge improvement from last years team....and I think they will continue to improve.

....they just didn't make a drastic leap like the young Alabama team did. I see Miami being back in 1-2 years.

I think the odds are better that Pryor would win a Heisman instead of a National Championship.

I think Mack overlooked the Penn State factor, and the fact that any team that OSU might meet in a Championship game is going to be a good quality team....no guaranteed automatic victories like the rest of their Conference competition(and I use that term lightly)

Whats the deal with these Florida High School coaches....with all the "a player of mines will never attend<blank> university?" I remember some idiot at St. Aquinos...or St. Thomas Aquinos...whatever the name was.....made a similar statement....saying that players at his school will never play for Alabama. Its really not their decision.


I really like Shannon...and wish him much success...but this situation makes him look spiteful and petty. Release the guy without the unbelievably ridiculous stipulations.

Chizik was telling the truth...but the Auburn fans never listened, because afterall, they didn't care about winning ANY type of championship.....they only cared about beating Alabama. The thought of winning a championship never crossed their minds. They were to busy bragging about beating up Shula.....and now they see that beating Alabama is about to become just as big a long shot as winning championships...panic, depression, and desperation is setting in. They never planned for the future because they thought that Bama would be down forever.....like SMU.

....and I personally know how this mindset works. You see, I'm an Oakland Raiders fan...and winning championships are a thing that dreams are made of. "Oakland win a championship, yeah right." Auburn fans had that same mindset.."Auburn win a championship, yeah right."......so we(Oakland and Auburn fans) have to settle for less, and find satisfaction in small victories. For me, its in actually trying to finish the season without the worst record.....and even though my team is crap, I can always say "at least we aren't Detroit"(small victory)

For the Auburn fans, the small victory was beating a probation weakened Alabama team. They didn't care about losing 4-5 games a season...because they had their small victory....and now they may have to reset their small victory sights to beating Vandy or Mississippi State....because it aint gonna happen with Bama.
