Just another copout by the worst manager in the game today. Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't situational hitting a responsibility of the manager? Isn't he the one to decide if a batter should move a runner up by hitting to the right side, bunting or otherwise doing what he is INSTRUCTED?? I thought a hitting coach coaches you on how to hit the ball better. Shorten your stride. Open your stance. Watch the ball. Hit the ball. You know, stuff like that. Joe Maddon is the biggest Richard managing a team today and the owners of this team are so enamored of what the Rays did last year that they are blind to the fact that this guy is an absolute idiot. When the Rays were getting their rear-ends whipped at the beginning of the year he said, "It's still early." When they were getting their rear-ends whipped at the end of the year he said, "I can't believe it's this late in the year."

Joe Maddon is a moron. The Rays won last year in spite of him and they finished where they did this year in spite and because of him. The Rays need to get a MAJOR LEAGUE manager - THE SOONER THE BETTER - and they will contend every year because they really do have a team capable of winning it all. Fact is, though, they will never win with Maddon at the helm because the only thing he is interested in is patting players on the back when they should be getting a foot up their rectum. The sports writers in this town love him because he is such a nice guy. What he is is - AGAIN - the biggest Richard managing a baseball team today.

As a life-long Dodger fan I can't understand their ease in trading away all-star catchers. Piazza, LoDuca and now Martin. Martin may have had a poor post-season but I wish the Dogers had 25 guys with Martin's "makeup." All he does is bust his rear-end on every play. At the risk of being called a Chase Utley, I love this guy. Anyone from Burr Ridge, IL not so much. Jr? Not even close. And of course it goes without saying that I love Laura more than anyone.

The only way the phillies beat the Rays is if Ted Barrett and Mike Winters work behind the plate every game. I refuse to let it die. I saw it on a bumper sticker once - "Hell No! I won't forget!" That being said, can someone tell me if I've entered the twilight zone here? Are we supposed to be talking about something related to sports?

I've just finished torturing myself again and watched the video on the last two NLCS games. After watching the video, if I were a US Senator, I would call a committee to A) investigate whether or not Ted Barrett and Mike Winters bet on these games and B) talk to major league baseball about using a device that would call balls and strikes. These two games in particular point out the need for baseball to do something about the absolute piss-poor officiating that comes from behind home plate. Is it a tough job? Yes. The "job" that these two morons (Barrett & Winters) was so obviously slanted towards the phillies that there is absolutely no question in my mind that they did everything in their power to slant the chances of winning the game to the eventual winner. Go ahead. I can take all the crap that everyone is going to write about losers being whiners, losers always complain, good teams can overcome poor officiating.......blah, blah, blah. Heard it before. I promise you this. If this were looked into we would find something that is not on the up-and-up. Consistently calling batters out on third strikes at pitches that are at the ankles is criminal. Especially if you only do it against one team. Barrett and Winters are criminals. I want to know how much money they won by "umpiring" these games.

If anyone has watched this series there has been one thing that is CRYSTAL CLEAR. The Phillies have been getting 4 or 5 strikes per at bat while the Dodger batters have been getting 2 and, if they've been lucky, they have been allowed the full allottment of 3. Go ahead, let me hear it. Losers are whiners. I know. I've heard it before. I'm a Dodger fan. But I'll tell everyone one thing. If you watch a replay of this game from last night (the 7-5 phillie "win") then you would have to absolutely know that Ted Barrett, the home plate ump, squeezed Dodger pitchers all night long while expanding the zone for phillie pitchers. To me, it was criminal. If it happened in basketball, it can happen in baseball. I for one would like to know if this punk (Barrett) bets on games and on this game in particular. The fairness of this game was not even close and it hasn't been the first game in this series that it's happened. There is no doubt in my mind that Barrett did everything he could to insure that the phillies would win this game. NO DOUBT.

As per usual this is another in a long line of non-stories written in the Tampa Trib. The headline says "Garcia unhappy with Bucs." As you read the "story" nowhere does it have a quote from JG that says, "I am unhappy with the Bucs." The Tampa Trib's sole mission in "reporting news" is to stir up as much crap as possible because they are praying it will result in more sales of their rag. As it stands now, they are so close to going under that they resort to "inquiring mind" type articles in the hope they can all keep their jobs. Don't take my word for it. Look at their history. Last year they all but guaranteed that Jon Gruden would be out of a job by mid-season. When the Bucs started winning - oh my goodness - what a change in philosophy as far as their reporting. The sports writers at the Tampa Trib are all a bunch of pansies who, if they don't get their collective rear-ends kissed on a daily basis will "report" about you on the same level that Cheney would give a welcoming speech to Obama. It would not be pretty. The Trib sucks and why SI insists on including them in this forum is beyond me. Take my word for it, folks. Everyone who lives here in Tampa already knows - if it's written in the Trib - it's crap. Period.

Three out of five isn't bad. Just looking at him you can see he is overweight, out of shape and he definitely is not hitting his spots. However, he has NEVER been overrated or overhyped. When he's on he is one of the game's best. It's time for him to pull his fat heat out of his fat rear-end and play this game to win. As a life-long Dodger fan I am extremely frustrated with this year and, second to the Dodgers hiring Joe Torre as their manager, Penny playing like the only thing he cares about is picking up a paycheck, is the most frustrating thing of all. Dude!! Eat a salad! No dressing! Get serious about what you are being paid to do! C'mon, LA!! Let's go, Dodgers!!
