Now, what Spurrier is suggestion may or may not be illegal but look what he has ultimately done. It's like the old golf joke. As the two guys tee off and the first one drives the ball 300 yards to the middle of the fairway, his friend turns to him and says " you HAVE to teach me that swing if you keep hitting them like that! I dont know how you do it with that hitch at the top!" Well, the rest of the round, friend number two is analyzing his swing because he didnt know he had a hitch. That is what the kicker for Bama is gonna be doing. He'll forget to concentrate on the kick and only be thinking about his tape that may or may not have given him an edge. Smart thinking by the Ole Ball Coach. Didnt help him and SC any but it might come into play somewhere down the road.

I dont think you hire a spread offense coach after firing an OC who was a spread offense coach. However, with a fresh staff coming in, maybe they could make it work. The problem with Franklin was that none of the other coaches knew the spread or how to coach it. Tubbs dint allow Franklin to bring in his own staff to coach the team. I'm still mad at Auburn for he way this firing was handled. CTT was a good coach and fit well at Auburn but the powers that be at AU felt like he had too much power. I also disagree with the comment that a spread coach wouldnt fit in the SEC. I think Meyer at Florida has it working pretty well.

Weapon X - about 30 seconds. Saban is all about glamour and having his face on TV and most of all - the $$$$. USC comes calling and little ole Bamer can say Bye Bye to Nicky Baby! And once again, Alabama gets shafted out of a decent coach. But, you give your money to a hired gun, you have to know that hired gun will leave when another boss offers more cash!
