I wouldn't say they don't receive a penny. Many are going to college for free.
Posted Monday January 05, 2009, About: Mack Brown: BCS still needs work
I am anything but a Texas fan but Mack Brown spoke the truth. OU benefited from the process this year but there are other teams who could claim they were left out. This is the same pattern repeated every year with the BCS. Someone is always left out. Texas had a great year with the exception of the one game in Lubbock. There are going to be several teams at the end with the same record and one that is undefeated. The system doesn't allow for someone to emerge as an undisputed champ.
Posted Tuesday December 09, 2008, About: Would Stoops leave OU for Chiefs?
Surely these great coaches at the college level like Stoops, Brown, Carroll and others realize the NFL stands for Not For Long if you don't win the Super Bowl. Why give up the security they have for the uncertainty of the NFL?
Posted Tuesday December 09, 2008, About: Would Stoops leave OU for Chiefs?
Stoops has an ideal situation. Despite losing four BCS games in a row, he does have a Rose Bowl win and a National Championship to go along with his six Big 12 titles. He is paid well and his program is one of the top programs in the country. The NFL is nothing but a coaching carousel. It is geared towards "what have you done for me lately". The true OU fans will see his commitment despite the wins and losses. We remember where our program was when he got here and see the change he has brought. Besides, even though he has lost the last 3 of 4 to Texas, he had won 5 in a row prior.

Speaking of homers, most of the trash you have talked on this site is from your UT homer attitude. If you paid attention to sports instead of just running your head, you would have known that Stoops has said more than once this year that he supports a playoff system.

Because there is no system in place to resolve the best coference issue, we are stuck with what we have. The only way for teams to change that is to schedule better competition in ooc games.

It comes back to schedule strength. How many ranked teams did Utah play? One of the ones they did play got waxed in Norman. If they want to get the exposure and respect, they are going to have to play a better schedule. They will have a chance to prove they belong this year in a BCS bowl.

That's cute. There is a difference between being competitive and being willing to blame your teammates and coaches for every loss or problem. When is the last time you heard Owens at the microphone explaining his tendency to drop passes?
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Leach: OU should be ahead of Texas
Has nothing to do with backing up losses. They are what they are. Can't be changed or altered. All we can do is deal with this year.

Whiner, complainer, cancer in the locker room, etc. Need More?
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Leach: OU should be ahead of Texas
There is also no evidence that Texas, Florida, or Alabama are going to produce. People are just trusting they will. Alabama hasn't proven anything over the last few years.

Point is, you talk about whiners and stupid people and the one making all of this noise is you.

I see Terrell Owens on your address. Enough said.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Leach: OU should be ahead of Texas
Simple fix. Don't watch the game OU is playing. You have a choice. It isn't as if someone is making you watch them. But each team plays each year for a chance to compete. Everyone keeps talking about four blowouts. The LSU and Boise State games weren't blowouts.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Leach: OU should be ahead of Texas
Yea, we lost. It is what it is. This is a new year. Every team started at the same time with the same opportunities. Each team gets an equal shot.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Leach: OU should be ahead of Texas
So by your logic, the kids on this years team that weren't on the team that lost to USC or LSU should be punished for those losses?
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Leach: OU should be ahead of Texas
The point is every team, Florida, Texas, OU, and Alabama have all played to this point and given themselves a shot. Now it is up to the individual teams to produce. A loss and you are out. Plain and simple. If OU loses to OSU, there is no argument nor complaint. It is done. Same goes for Texas, Florida, and Alabama.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Leach: OU should be ahead of Texas
We will see. That is why they play all of the games and don't stop and make final judgments on a team after week 6. I would be very interested in seeing an actual quote on Stoops asking people to vote Texas #25 though. Or is this message board trash talk?
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Leach: OU should be ahead of Texas
All of this speculation. Just stick to the facts. OU has already jumped Texas in the AP, Harris, and the Coaches polls. They are barely behind them in the BCS. Texas has already gotten all of the value they can out of the ranked opponents they have beaten. They finish with a pitiful Aggie team. OU has a ranked opponent left on their schedule and the game is on the road. It doesn't matter if Texas already beat them. There is no more value there for them but OU stands to gain a win on the road over a ranked opponent. This will add to their computer score and they could jump Texas, especially if they do it convincingly.

Texas should beat the Aggies with little resistance. It will come down to Tech and OU taking care of their business. Of the three, it would appear OU has the harder of the three games. OU is really close in the BCS poll. A strong performance on the road may be enough but we won't know unless it happens. OSU would love to play spoiler. The same is true with Florida State. They would love to send Florida to the conference championship with a loss.

Still got one more game to go. No reason to jump the gun and start acting crazy. If we don't take care of our business, won't matter.
