Texas usually schedules one good OOC game each year, and remember that when the schedules are made, years in advance, you don't know if the team you end up playing will be having an off year (AKA arkansas last year):

Arkansas (2008)
TCU (2007)
Ohio State (2006)
Ohio State (2005)
Arkansas (2004)
Arkansas (2003)

Florida also usually playes FSU, and sometimes Miami, which are good teams in general, despite the last few year of mediocrity. With Texas Tech though, you have a point.

Oh yeah, and remember that with the exception of the last 4-5 year, the whole range of time you talk about is UF playing in an SEC that stunk. They were great in 06 07, and OK in 08, but from 1993-2003? Come on.

Historical usually means going further back than the last 15 years. How many championships has Florida won before your list? Zero. Florida is not historically a dominant team. Alabama has historically ruled the current group of teams that make up the SEC. For the majority of the time listed (the 90's in particular), UF was not even the best team in the state, maybe not even the second best.

Just to reiterate, no kidding. A very good college player decides to stay and play for another title instead of beginning his pro career at left bench. Who would have thunk it.

Everyone wants to get richer, the rich are just the ones that actually do it.

That must be it. there were no other white guys that wanted to coach there. Why didn't I think of that.

Idiot.

USC will not be able to jump Texas. The computers have USC at .73 and Texas at .94. Even if USC was jumped to 1st place in both the Harris and the coaches, they would have to drop Texas to about 6th place inorder to override the computer polls. The ONLY way it could happen would be for the BCS itself to invoke the whole "BCS can change any bowl at any time" clause, and if you think they'll stick their necks out for USC to keep Texas out, you need to be committed.

How about, the SEC was the most overrated conference going into the season. That's difficult to argue against.
Posted Sunday November 30, 2008, About: AD: Indiana keeping football coach
I think that they should honor their contract, however, I hope next time they don't just jump in and give it to the next guy in line. It is so rare that just taking an inexperienced assistant works that they should ALWAYS perform a real search and see who else they can get. Continuity for one season is not worth a long term drop off. Hep was doing well, but he was a very experienced, proven coach. Lynch was not.

I'd be more upset that their memories don't go beyond the last 5 years. LSU is not a traditional powerhouse. They are USUALLY in the shadow of Alabama. Unfortunately for Miles, the current students don't realize that while LSU has been great for thelast little bit, they'll inevitably return to their good-but-not-great status in general. Sure they'll have good years here and there, but they will not stay as dominant as they were the few years preceding this one.

So what, he goes and lives in Pete Carrol's?
Posted Friday November 21, 2008, About: Why BCS lobby disagrees with Obama
Hmmm... B.O. wants a system where you don't have to show any past accomplishment (a full season of wins, ususally) to win the national title, but all you have to be is somewhat unblemished (only 1 or 2 losses). Why am I not surprised.
Posted Thursday November 20, 2008, About: Big 12 could get 3 BCS bids
Yes. If Texas Tech loses to Missouri, Oklahoma will have only lost to a top 5 (at that point 3) team, and Oklahoma will have only lost to a top 5 team. Both will have also beaten a top 5 team and 1-2 top 12 teams (Missouri, Oklahoma State). Florida will have (A) lost to an unranked team at home, and (B) only beaten 1 top 12 team in Alabama. So both Oklahoma and Texas will have better dossiers than Florida, and should be in the title game, if in fact the idea is to put the teams with the best seasons in the game. If it's not based on who had the best season, than what in the world is the season for?

Yeah, I guess a guy with a 78% winning percentage in the SEC would probably stuggle in the ACC...

Or you could be rational. Your choice.

Remember that you said this so when the draft comes around so you will feel as moronic as you sound. Barring a broken leg, Beanie will easily be in the first round.

Look, it wasn't Knowshon's fault. Georgia just isn't half as good as they were supposed to be.
