I'm sure this whole thing ...the hold up in addition to Zickefoose's revelations ....will do wonders for Vols recruiting.
Posted Saturday August 08, 2009, About: Rivers eyeing Manning's contract
AMEN!

I am a huge Rivers fan and was highly annoyed by the Manning family draft tactics. But now I understand! SD management could make a diamond ring look like a turd!

Rivers is too good (talent and as a person) for the crap SD pulls. Who the H377 fires their coach after a 14-2 season .......AND HIRES NORV!
Posted Wednesday July 22, 2009, About: Dolphins want to see more from TE
This story is stupid. All it says is that Miami is not PRESENTLY in contract negotiations with Fasano (a very solid REAL TE - not just an oversized WR) and that an NFC personnel dude (hum, last I checked Miami was in the AFC .....not even the right conference) said "You would like to find a better No. 1 ideally". No one from Miami said it. How did the Miami Herald (and I FN for that matter) get that Miami wants to see more from him out of a comment from a completely different organization.

Why not .....after all, NFL Europe was such a rousing success.

LA can't hold a team!

Drew Rosenhaus is a cancer to the NFL.

Kiffin is a train wreck; the Brittney Spears of coaching.

How unbelievable is it that he is making Al Davis look smart!
Posted Wednesday May 06, 2009, About: Engineer: I did little with collapsed Cowboys facility
If he is the approving engineer and no unapproved design changes were done by the contractor (see Kansas City Hyatt), he is liable. Seems like an eerily odd coincidence that two structure with his sign-off collapsed, but you don't prosecute due to coincidence.

I wonder what the tolerances for the structure were and if the Cowboys simply did not acknowledge them during the conditions.
Posted Tuesday May 05, 2009, About: Browns pass on Harrell
Richard who?

Seems this is a good thing for Harrell. Now he can try with a team with a chance to win.
Posted Tuesday May 05, 2009, About: Cardinals reject Dockett's trade request
Not that I disagree, but the problem with holding players to their contracts is that teams are not obligated to honor them. If they feel they need/want to go in a different direction, they can simply cut a player. I simply believe that the new contract requests could be done more cognitively and elegantly.

Rookies??? salaries are stupid! As are the Lions; M Stat will earned the most guaranteed money in NFL history without taking a snap. What? What kind of bizarro world do they live in?
Posted Tuesday May 05, 2009, About: Cardinals reject Dockett's trade request
Fine ......trade his prima dona **** to Cincy or Detroit for some 1st rounders. Why can't these players simply state their case for a new contract with out aotumatically whining "trade me". Again, I say trade him and get players who WANT TO WIN.

But I guess understand; how does one make it on $3.25 million?
Posted Wednesday April 22, 2009, About: Curry willing to take less money
Maybe it takes a player to take control of the insane rookie salaries, not owners. Maybe he can start a precedence where if a players wants to be drafted high (like #1!), he'll make the deal happen.

Personally, I think you draft your player, and offer them a reasonable contract. If they won't sign, screw'm. They just gave you an insight into their personality.
Posted Wednesday April 15, 2009, About: Falcons haven't asked KC about Gonzalez -- yet
I don't know, WR seems about right. Most TE's today are simply oversized WRs. They line up split out and don't block or run people over. Look at Shokey; part of the reason he wanted out of NY is they wanted him to block too much; as a TE ...REALLY!
Posted Tuesday April 14, 2009, About: Why Bucs may still draft QB
If the Bucs do use Leftwich as "leverage", they will have hit a new low in business ethics.
Posted Monday April 13, 2009, About: Broncos eyeing Jags' No. 8 pick?
You do if he has the skill set of Raji. However, his skills will probably be wasted in a 3-4.
Posted Monday April 13, 2009, About: Broncos eyeing Jags' No. 8 pick?
Raji would be nice for the 3-4 conversion (not really sold on 3-4, but the NFL is a copy-cat league). Heck, he would nice in a 4-3. But I think he'll be gone. If he makes it past Cincy, I see them hitting the phones for the trade.

I completely agree about San Fran; the Jr. QB they draft a few years ago failed, so they should definitely rush out and draft another Jr. QB. After all, the success rate of Jr. QBs is ........oh yeah, nevermind.
Posted Friday April 03, 2009, About: Sources: BC's Raji tests positive for drugs
I agree with the comments concerning the idiocy of this action; dude's going to be making millions within a month. Lay the hell of the ganja!

At the same time, reminds me of Warren Sapp.
Posted Thursday March 26, 2009, About: Fox: Peppers-to-Patriots 'almost laughable'
Actually, I read recently that Peppers isn't completely opposed to staying with Carolina ($16 mil ..really!). He has always said he has enjoyed playing there and loves playing in his own backyard. He just wants to fulfill his potential, and he wasn't, according to him, getting the opportunity to in Carolina. Seems that this should have been handled with Pep and the coaches, not like it has been. I say they need to sit down, figure out a scheme of using Peppers to "fulfill his potential", sign him to a long term deal (that help the salary cap). And move forward to more pressing needs (Jake has ups and WAY, WAY downs - see: Arizona (playoff), Oakland)
Posted Tuesday March 24, 2009, About: Latest in dysfunctional Broncos-Cutler drama
1) NO! I agree, he's not a top 5 QB. He has the raw skills to become one, but will never get there with his temperament.

2) Manning ...a top5? Really?? Peyton, yes; Eli, absolutely not! You want another top 5, look to Cutler's nemesis (who never **** e d about Cutler, just laughs at him), Phillip Rivers.

As for the "if you don't like your job argument", my job doesn't pay me multimillion dollars to play a great game! He needs to shut the h e l l up, play out his contract and hit free agency (that is applicable to all the b i t c h y players who are like "I'm not happy, I'm not going to play unless you trade me". I say screw'em, let them sit. There are THOUSANDS of quality players coming out of college every year aching for the opportunity to play in NFL who would actually appreciate the gift they had been given.)
Posted Sunday March 22, 2009, About: Chargers trying to trade Osgood
Norv is a joke and deserves to be slammed ...for that matter, so does A.> Smith. And, yeah, I know he has brought a lot of talent to SD, but dude is a serious narsacist!

As for Osgood, seems he is a special team play ......and not much more. Maybe he should move to TE ....a blocking TE, because from what I hear, he can't catch worth crap. Oh wait, he should fit right in the SD WR lineup (I admit Chambers seems to have decent hands).
Posted Friday March 20, 2009, About: Belichick leaves door open for Peppers
Again, he should stay in Carolina and WORK WITH THE COACHES. Moving him around was very effctive last season; simply exand that to OLB! He's definitely willing, he has the athletesism; why not. He's happy, and opposing offenses are not.
Posted Thursday March 19, 2009, About: Roy Williams talking to Bengals
Teams are going about this all wrong. He's 6' 230 lbs. and can't cover receivers. Sounds alot like Thomas Davis in Carolina. MOVE HIME TO LB! He has the athletism to be a really good OLB in a 4-3. But if really wants to keep playing safety, I hear the UFL is coming around soon.
