So you guys really dont see a difference between having a high scoring game even though your third string plays the entire second half of the game and still having your first string in when youre up by 30 and going for 2 on top of that? Its a huge difference. In fact, SC is known for almost relinquishing leads because of how much they lay off the gas when theyre ahead. Regardless, dropping 50 with your third stringers and going for 2 when youre up by 30 are not the same. Show me one time SC was going for 2 when the game was in the bag. Unfortunately for you, you cant. You cant show me a time Pete, Bob Stoops, or Meyer did it either because as classless as they may be at times, thats a line they never dont cross. Personally, I'm glad theres finally some parity in the Pac-10, I'm glad we're finally starting to look like a competitive conference especially since the big-12 and SEC are so underwhleming this year. I really hope the Pac just whacks a bunch of 12 and SEC teams in the bowl season. That and in spite of my SC loyalties, how about some heisman love for Gerhart?

I'm wondering if the fact the Reggie isn't having the type of success some imagined he would is playing into this at all. Joe is significantly smaller than Bush and I'm pretty sure he's a little slower too. Maybe he thinks he has a better shot at success on the other side of the ball. SC probably has the best secondary in the nation, it would be interesting to see Joe thrown into that mix.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not so I'm going to leave it alone. He did minor in Spanish though, which to me means his Spanish is "turrible" as Charles Barkley would say.

Oh, haha, and it's "think TOO much" not "think TO much" take your own advice and learn to speak english
Posted Friday July 31, 2009, About: Jets No. 1 quarterback is...
Wow. Mark is a 3rd generation american that can't even speak Spanish fluently, yet this is the best your ignorant pea sized brain can come up with? I'm sorry it's not 1940 anymore, but get over it. Oh and quote #32, clearly your screen name is inaccurate, because I'm quite sure you don't think at all. Why is it that the dumbest people are always the quickest to self diagnose themselves with "thinking too much"? Is that your excuse for being a loser? You think too much? Like the guy who dropped out of high school because he was too smart for it. Give me a break, I'm sure your actual disorder is quite the opposite.

NFL coaches and their assistants analyze these guys for a living, spending every waking minute breaking these guys down in a thousand different ways. We watch from our couches and gather what we hear/read online while we juggle our jobs and our social lives (those of us that have one). Maybe, just MAYBE, its not a Harrell conspiracy, the guy just isn't an NFL quarterback. He'll get a couple more chances to prove himself and if it doesn't work out it's because he just didn't cut the mustard. Trust me, with all the money involved and the fact that their jobs are on the line every day, NFL coaches know what's best for them. The ones that don't, get fired. I just don't see why this one guy in particular has such a huge following of apologists.
Posted Saturday May 02, 2009, About: Sanchez's debut impresses Jets
Haha, someone actually made a sexual assault comment? Forget due process right? Forget the fact that the charges were dropped. Throw the guy in jail because YOU obviously know what happened.

Don't look too much into rookie camp, but I think he makes a significant push for the starting job and I wish him the best.

Viva Sanchez!
Posted Thursday April 02, 2009, About: Carroll praises Sanchez to NFL scouts
Sounds like sour grapes?? These 18 year old kids are opting for sunshine, girls, a perennial top 10 program and maximum media exposure and youre not sure why they arent going to Columbus Ohio? Yeah. Clearly theres something fishy going on because most 18 year old kids in their position would undoubtedly choose the midwest tundra over the west coast. Look, I know its fashionable to hate on USC, but until you get some solid evidence, not just your bitter intuition, spare an original thought once in a while.
Posted Monday March 23, 2009, About: Report: Giants asked Browns about Edwards
I agree with the folks saying that the two draft picks is fair but giving up Smith is too much. Did you see the guy in the playoffs/superbowl? After being hurt the majority of the season which was also his rookie season? Its unheard of for a receiver to come in and be as consistent as he was. I think there is a great chance that Edwards can go to a good team like NY and do significantly better, but I wouldnt give up Smith for that chance.

Wow. Youre so insightful. Maybe you should lend your infallible crystal ball to the programs so that they dont make these mistakes. At least say something with substance.
Posted Wednesday March 18, 2009, About: Mike Leach mocks NFL coaches
I expect ignorant fans to rant the way Leach did, in an oversimplified way that perpetuates the idea that they have no idea what they're talking about, but from a head ball coach? I expect a lot more and maybe thats my own fault. I just dont see why 1. a coach would want to come off as ignorant and 2. why he would want to tick off NFL coaches that are going to be analyzing his players in the future. I'm sure they were thrilled to hear about this rant. Build a successful resume of QB's that go on to be great in the NFL and then open your mouth.
Posted Saturday March 14, 2009, About: More reasons why LeBron won't be a Knick
If he is an astute businessman he will go to the bigger market. He might have to sacrifice the prospect of 25 mil now but it will come back 20 fold if he gets to the NYC market. LeBron does need NYC because Cleveland isn't big enough for his ego. Theres a reason Shaq wants to get to LA, the size of the market matters. Also, he's not that old, so the possibility that the team will re-build around him isn't that big of a deal, and again, his ego would love that the knick's universe would revolve around him. Never underestimate someone's high regard for themselves.
Posted Saturday March 07, 2009, About: Jets, Colts to work out Sanchez
If you actually watched SC play in the last few years you would know that you cant really compare any of the quarterbacks to each other. They are all completely different, Carson was raw power, Leinart was finesse surrounded by talent and Booty was clearly a product of the system, seriously, if one thing went wrong that guy completely lost it. Sanchez has Leinart's finesse but a much stronger arm, although not as strong as Carson's, and he also possesses an athleticism that none of the other guys had. While I think he would have been well served by staying in school, saying he will be a bust because of the guys who played before him is about as logical as saying that Peyton Manning would be a bust because of Heath Shuler and Jerry Colquitt.
On another note, the two teams that are trying him out are clearly looking towards the future, not an immediate impact. If I were the Jets, and Ainge, Clemens and Ratliff were my future I'd be looking ahead too. As far as the Colts go, Manning won't be around forever, and from Mark's standpoint, who better to learn from? I hope he goes to the Colts.
Posted Tuesday March 03, 2009, About: Vols coaches rip off shirts
Tums, I agree, the part at the end where the recruit admits he enjoyed the antics and got into it was largely overlooked. I guess the lazy thing to do is to just take the small parts that make your argument and your team look good and run with them, forget reading the entire article.
Posted Monday March 02, 2009, About: Vols coaches rip off shirts
Kiffin really has become the guy everyone loves to hate. There are so many things in football that if you take them out of the games context they would seem weird to everyone. Those team huddles before games with someone in the middle barking like a dog, people river dancing in end zones, the lights out dance... the list goes on and on. You think if you could be a fly on the wall following Urb Meyer or Nick Satan around you wouldn't see something similar at one point or another? Do you really think that the team you root for as that much different than this one? Just look at the layout of the article and its obvious to see that Kiffin is being singled out; the length of this article was much longer than most others because they were basically retelling a story (not the news), the only source was some inarticulate kid who probably doesnt know any 4 syllable words, its just ridiculous. These T&R's are usually 4 sentence snippets saying a bunch of stuff everyone already knows, why is this one so detailed? Can you honestly say that they arent searching high and low for ways to ridicule Kiffin?
Posted Saturday February 28, 2009, About: Montana's son waiting on Trojans, Vols
Good post, I've wondered this for a couple years now. Some dude in his mom's basement somehow knows more about Reggie and Dwayne than anybody else on the planet. So much so that he brings them up even when the topic at hand has absolutely nothing to do with either of them. Bitter much? So, what team is it you root for that consistently gets pounded by USC? At SC we love being hated on by ignorant people because it just goes to show that you always have us on your mind. I guarantee you we could care less about whatever 2nd tier program gets your support, you'll never see me posting good or bad things on articles that cover them, because I don't care. So tell me, is there like a club you join where your sole objective is to bring up Reggie whenever there is an article that has to do with football? Or is just you and your world of warcraft buddies?
Posted Wednesday February 18, 2009, About: Bradford back in 2010?
I don't know if you would call it being cynical or realistic, but outside of Texas, Oklahoma and Florida everyone knows why these guys are opting to stay in school and it has very little to do with how much they love the academic world. See, in California when Matt Leinart chose to stay for his final year of eligibility we all knew why he made that decision. It had nothing to do with wanting to enjoy his senior year or wanting to get his degree. He stayed in college because he had just had shoulder surgery and his combine/pro day performances would have been terrible. Everyone in LA knew that all the talk about him being the first QB drafted when Alex Smith and Rodgers went into the draft was garbage. He very well could have slipped into the second/third round and we all knew it. It was for his own good that he chose to stay in college, not out of nobility. I'm saying this as a USC fan mind you. Now I know you worship these guys but they really arent much different from each other. Tebow and Bradford are staying in school because that's where they are going to do well, and there is nothing wrong with that. Time will show that all the talk about them being top tier NFL QB's was just hype, they simply don't have the skill-tool sets to do it. If Bradford and Tebow played in different parts of the country then they do now you would be able to see it. If Bradford played for West Virginia or Pittsburgh you would probably be the one writing this message. It's great to be a fan, I'm a huge one, but I wouldn't trade my objectivity for it.
Posted Wednesday February 18, 2009, About: Bradford back in 2010?
I agree with firejerryjones, the big-12 teams looked great until they faced an actual defense. White, Huepel, Hybl, Bradford. Stay in school, not for the experience but because that's the highest level you'll ever play at.
