That's true. However, one could look at the Maynard-Edgar situation with this eye: Edgar has fought Maynard twice, and with all the evolution in his game, still wasn't able to beat him.
Despite his status as champion, I still have Maynard over Edgar. An undefeated fighter being ranked lower than a fighter he has a 1-0-1 record against just seems....wrong. I'm no Maynard fan, but in this case I'd have to argue against the age old "The champ is #1" maxim.
In a seemingly contradictory stance, I agree with your swapping Aoki and Alvarez, despite Aoki's win over Alvarez. I think Aoki is slipping an Alvarez has only improved. In fact, I'd probably drop Aoki to 6 and elevate Florian over him. That could be short-lived, as Florian is dropping to featherweight soon.
What I remember is BJ hurting Sanchez early, and toying with him for the rest of the fight. Sanchez wasn't dazed or rocked for the rest of the fight...he was timid and tentative. BJ beat the fight out of him, and he'd do it again.
I think that's an ideal situation. I mean, I think even a draw against Fitch proves BJ's mettle at 170. If he wasn't seen as legit at that weight before, he is now.
Agreed. I scored it 28-28 myself. I could even see 29-28 Penn. I just have a hard time giving someone a 10-8 round when the "dominator" couldn't even pass guard.
To flippantly claim one of the greatest of all time was a multiple-time cheater when the facts show that in the examples you gave he was actually the VICTIM of the cheating is slanderous and irresponsible.
We demand a higher level of discourse around here. Butthead. :-)
Just an idea.

I'd also put Benson in there instead of Guida.
Better luck next time, buddy!

Research before slander, my friend, especially when slandering such a revered figure! :-)
