Posted Monday November 16, 2009, About: Top candidate to replace Charlie Weis is...
(1) Meyer said as recently as LAST DECEMBER that Notre Dame is his coaching dream job. He also published that sentiment in his book a couple years ago. He has a clause in his contract (and has ever since he has been a head coach) that he can leave with only a $500K buyout to coach at Notre Dame.

(2) If Meyer said, "Oh, I'm not sure if I will leave next year or when Weis is fired," then he would kiss recruiting goodbye. That's like saying, come play for the Gators and the next Ron Zook!

If Pat Dooley didn't write an article about Meyer staying and instead wrote something like the Cocoa Beach Florida Today publication which had national publicity, he would have been relegated to journalism in a small village West of the Everglades.

(3) Herbstreit just wants a news story about the Buckeyes to fill time on Sports Center.

(4) Why???? Why leave Utah when you built a competitive program? Why leave Florida when you have won 3 out of the last 4 national championships? Ask Spurrier....(who was a Heisman trophy quarterback at Florida in the 1960s and a legend at Florida as coach when he left and transformed the program)...if you win that much, all you can do is disappoint.

What coach couldn't follow Weis? And, if you are a Lou Holtz of the modern era at Notre Dame, you go down in history....forever.

It's his final chapter.
Posted Monday November 16, 2009, About: Next 3 games to decide Weis' future
(1) It doesn't matter if Meyer signs an extension from now to 2050. He can leave for Notre Dame at any time there is a coaching vacancy.

He has a $500K buyout clause in his contract with Florida and with every other team at which he has coached.

His daughter at Georgia Tech can catch a Delta Flight to South Bend, Indiana. Meyer has enough cash that she could take her own plane.

(2) Meyer had unfinished business at UF. It's called winning National Championships with Tim Tebow. Now that Tebow is graduating and now that Notre Dame has one less year to pay on a ridiculously expensive Weis contract, they are ready to make the deal.

(3) In the SEC East, the Tennessee - Florida game will decide the division. UGA doesn't have a shot. Vandy, Kentucky, and South Carolina do not have a chance. Alabama will continue to dominate the West.

This is the perfect time for Meyer to go to his dream coaching job!

You obviously do not know Urban Meyer...

who said in his book that the Notre Dame head coaching job is his dream job....

and reiterated that sentiment as recently as LAST DECEMBER!

He has a $500K buyout clause in his contract with Florida and with every other team at which he has coached.

Could anyone fathom Terry Bowden at Florida in 2010? As old Bowden exits FSU, younger former Auburn coach Bowden enters the Florida chapter.
Posted Sunday November 15, 2009, About: Next 3 games to decide Weis' future
I am really surprised that not much has been said about Meyer going to ND.

I am calling it a 95% chance.

If the Gators win a third national championship this year, 3 in the last 4 years, it is 100%.

His daughters are gone (to college).
Tebow graduates this year, and his highly regarded back up is a drop-back passer.
Spikes is gone next year to a top 3 draft pick.
Tennessee will be better next year.
Addazio is not he second coming of Mullen, so the offense sputters, and Percy and Murphy are really missed at Florida.

It's the perfect environment for Meyer to go to Notre Dame.

(1) He's done the impossible at Florida, and could have the national title 3 out of the last 4 years.

(2) The Gators cannot win the national title next year, so it would have to be a let down.

(3) How often does the coaching job at Notre Dame open up? How hard would it be to follow Weis???

(4) With legend status at Florida, it might be time to introduce another chapter at Florida, or they could reintroduce Spurrier, so he could go out king in 5 or 6 years. (Find a young guy being mentored by Spurrier).

Urban Meyer = Notre Dame 2010
Posted Sunday November 15, 2009, About: Next 3 games to decide Weis' future
You are delusional to think that Clausen returns for another year at Notre Dame.

At best, Urban Meyer comes to South Bend next year and starts winning games, but Clausen is not a spread quarterback.

At worst, Clausen ends his career or tarnishes his draft status by getting injured, and is it just me, or have you seen first round draft picks suddenly lose millions of dollars by returning for their senior year THIS YEAR!
- Sam Bradford - must have lost $10MM in his career now
- Tim Tebow - the concussion might make him drop to Round 2
- Colt McCoy - if he left last year, he would have been a top 5 pick

Clausen is gone.

How could you possibly think Weis will still be there next year.
Posted Sunday October 18, 2009, About: No Plan B for Pryor's lack of progress
I do not know what has happened to McCoy, but he is out of the Heisman race. The constant slow starts, conservative play-calling, 2nd half panic finishes, and missing receivers (except Shipley) for the whole first half is a testiment to the pathetic offensive coordinator's coaching.

Pryor has been over-hyped by "potential" all year long, and I remember at the beginning of the year how the Big 10 Homers were all over Pryor's Heisman candidacy. He never had a chance, and he will never be a dominant college QB. He certainly will not play QB in the pro's, unless he's dying to be another Vince Young.
Posted Sunday October 18, 2009, About: Weis defiant after Irish loss
Weis is gone, and that can be summed up with there has been no passion in ND football since Lou Holtz left. Any emotion and confidence to win has been manufactured by the revolving door of mediocre coaches at the Golden Dome. My greatest apprehension is that my alma mater allows the nation's best coach to become another casualty of "Never Dominate University".
Posted Sunday October 18, 2009, About: Latest recruiting tool is...
Probably so, but it doesn't help either one coach any better.
Posted Sunday October 18, 2009, About: Must-win for Weis?
Weis is gone. I'm sure they will be offering up a huge contract to Meyer after the Gators win their 3rd NC in the last 4 years.
Posted Sunday October 18, 2009, About: Bradford's future uncertain
Obviously, he wanted to answer that he had wished last year was his last Red River Shootout. He will not return, and he will likely be drafted late in the first round this year. Maybe he will be back for the bowl game.
Posted Sunday September 20, 2009, About: Tebow avoids nude photos
Apparently the real Troy are fakes too, fake national contenders.
Posted Saturday September 12, 2009, About: UGA quarterback has shoulder problems
Yeah, offense problems, not shoulder problems. Cox is part of all sorts of special treatment...shoulder problems with a recurring pinched nerve, flu like symptoms, so he flies a private UGA jet, passing heroics lauded from Tulsa to Stillwater...now Gamecocks will be his greatest fans.

I still think Samuel is a great back.
Posted Saturday September 12, 2009, About: USC tailback out against Ohio State
USC will throw 2 or 3 picks in this game to keep it close, but they will still prevail. Maybe we will see Mustain.

This little piggy went to market...this little piggy went we we we we we out of the OSU game...and lost the starting job for the rest of the season.
Posted Saturday September 12, 2009, About: Springsteen, Bon Jovi help Irish prepare for 'Big House'
Weis is wondering if he's "wanted, dead or alive", or perhaps Claussen is "wrapped up like a ****" (Springsteen wrote it) as Michigan drops 40 points on the Irish.
Posted Saturday September 12, 2009, About: Springsteen, Bon Jovi help Irish prepare for 'Big House'
Springsteen gave Bon Jovi a break and brought him into the business. They are from the same area in NJ. Is Weis a NJ guy?

UCLA and then the Gators...this isn't Western Kentucky.

Posted Tuesday September 01, 2009, About: Vols name freshman RB co-starter
TN can dream of beating UGA this year. I expect the Vol defense to make a game against UF for a half, but after that UF will take off even if they have to bring in Brantley to throw 3 tds. Actually, if the Gators are running away with it, Brantley probably will throw 3 in the 4th quarter (with Meyer calling time outs).
Posted Tuesday September 01, 2009, About: Vols name freshman RB co-starter
It's likely that TN defeats GA this year. I am not convinced UGA has a consistent offense, and UGA and TN play each other early. I think it is up for grabs.
Posted Tuesday September 01, 2009, About: Vols name freshman RB co-starter
The Noles will win the ACC. It starts in just a few days.
