That picture is wonderful. Addazio is saying, "Don't transfer yet. I'll let you throw downfield once every 4 games - Just wait 'til Georgia!" I just don't think Brantley is too bright. But, I hope he returns!
At least Temple will be able to predict the playbook. 1st down - run up the middle, 2nd down - pitch too late to the outside (or run up the middle with an inadequate offensive line), 3rd and 8 - Have Brantley throw a screen pass.
That's awesome. That's what we want as the identity of UT-Austin, Matthew McConnaughy, or maybe Renee Zellweger. Perhaps Lance can bang the bongos too, and Sandra Bullock can bike on over to the Austin cycle shop - Horns Up.
I can't lose on this shifting of coaching staffs - UT to UF, Gators to Longhorns, it doesn't matter to me....as long as Greg Davis and Steve Adazzio head elsewhere.
The sports writer for the Austin American Statesman predicted Meyer would be head coach at UT-Austin in 2013 after Mack retires. So, come to Gainesville Applewhite!
I graduated from both schools. Send Adazzio elsewhere...and anyone else who tries to run the spread. Mack will right the ship.
Applewhite played when I was in grad school, and I always wondered if he was pissed at Mack still for putting in an inferior Simms for the first half of every game and getting Applewhite to bail him out. That Gator OC job is awfully tempting.
Then again, if he does well as OC at UT, he has the path cleared for "head coach in waiting". He could be the Steve Spurrier of UT.
Things are coming together for Florida again, and we will have an OC who knows how to throw the ball just like the Ole Ball Coach. And, we may have a defense better than the days of Stoops at Florida. Mack is on his own. Maybe he should start the new McCoy next year instead of Mr. Interception.
I am sure Meyer will be back coaching in 2 or 3 years at Penn State or Notre Dame. Perhaps if they keep Rich Rod at the helm another 2 years, they will get Meyer.
The Austin-American Statesman actually speculated that Meyer could replace Mack Brown at Texas in 2013.
One of my schools at the expense of the others, but at least I'm not alone in the connection - now the coaching staffs are. I was in grad school when Applewhite was at Texas, and Mack would always start Simms and end up putting Applewhite in to throw for 300 yards and save the game in the 4th quarter. Perhaps Applewhite doesn't mind sticking it to Mack if he wasn't promised the offensive coordinator role, or perhaps he realizes he will have more enduring success at Florida than at Texas where things are a mess.
